I stayed at the mgm sky lofts just last month and We didn’t get a personalized welcome and service like mike did. Pretty sure they did that just cause they knew he’s a vlogger

As someone that worked at the Skylofts over almost 2 years it really does offer some of the best service you can get in Vegas (some amazing team members still work there from when I was there back in 2012/2013). Fully 5 star and 5 diamond service
That butler guy was so nice. Not rush'd. Answered the all question well. He was so patient to explain how everything worked. Excellant

are you ever suppose to tip the butler? If so, after what occasion?
@@robreviews07 yes. If they are a hotel butler after they provide service, each time. The reason for that is that hotel butlers may rotate during your stay so you want to ensure they are tipped after every service. The tip should be given discreetly. Usually folded bills as you thank them once they have completed their task. Same for room service (although a smaller tip). Room attendants should also be tipped. Since they do their work when you are not there, you use the hotel pen and letterhead to write a thank you for making the room and fold the tip neatly on top. Room attendants really appreciate the thank you note and small tip as they are not often appreciated or thanked staff. I have had attendants leave me tons of pillow top chocolates, extra bath products, and even notes back saying that my note made their day. Just beware not in all cultures it is ok to tip.

@@glennquagmire34 I know right? I'd never pay that much for a hotel unless my financial situation changes a bunch! There are other TH-camrs that do cheaper reviews, like Pompsie. But at least we get to see in the expensive places through videos like this😄

@@ecidemon5672 Imagine gatekeeping travelling. People go to Vegas for widely varying reasons, and you can absolutely consider 4 digit hotel rooms too expensive no matter what reason you go there for.
I was wondering what the numbers were in that menu and when I realized it was the price my soul left my body.

It looked awfully small. If I ordered that for a meal, I'd have to stop somewhere else on the way home, and I don't eat much any more.
@@greyeaglem I would imagine a risotto like that would be pretty rich so eating too much would ruin the impact of it. Plus, they'd most likely load you up on several courses, not just the one plate. If Mikey wasn't sampling what he wanted, I'm sure they would have suggested a meal to go with the entree he picked out.

I think this was a good follow up to the Aria review. Kind of sad for a modern looking hotel, their services wasnt up to what their building advertised. I commented that his review on the Aria could have cost them 35k customers considering its 700k view with the low chance of 5% of people decide to stay at the Aria.
In America it's profits first, and profits must always increase. By the time you get to some place in the USA he is reviewing it is guaranteed in the Constitution that it will have deteriorated from increasing profit taking.

Mike talking about the teacups with lids, I've watched enough Chinese period dramas to know exactly that :D I really want one haha.
And it's not a "used to do it" thing either. I lived in Chengdu, China for a bit and any nice restaurant or teahouse will serve tea in that way.

I really love these hotel/food reviews. MGM loft is designed so special and unique. The room and the hall ways and the outdoor dinning style was wonderful. Where was all the people? Being a native of Las Vegas you can get really comfortable with select restaurants around the valley. Really appreciate the Vegas related videos which sparked the want to branch out and try new places! Definitely want to try a staycation and try the skyloft.

Another cool room at MGM is the Skyline Terrace Suites, it is very similar to the Skylofts but also have a 800sq ft terrace that looks out towards the strip and a bit cheaper also. Definitely worth checking out and comparing it to your Skyloft experience.
