I used the OG for years. It worked with and without makeup well for me. I have the new version, and it hasn't irritated me, as some chemical sunscreens can, my personal preference aside, it's fine. It's my base since most days I can't be bothered with foundation, etc.
The old version drove me crazy because it never played well with my skincare and/or makeup - everything pilled. Not sure if I'm willing to spend so much to see if the new one works. Thank you for the review, especially about the chemical sunscreen being added.❤
I contacted them because I was so frustrated that they changed the formula of the restore sunscreen when they changed the packaging to the pump and raised the price. I was told that the formula was not changed, but I can tell the new version is thinner and stays shiny all day long. It also settles into pores more than the thicker formula. I’m so disappointed.
Completely different in texture and dry down. In fact, it doesn't dry down here (humid & hot weather). Uv elements on top of not drying down, its hard to spread evenly, and has an emollient finish on oily skin. The tint is pretty similar though. I can only use a very thin layer without compromising my makeup, so I use it for a sheer second layer on top of my sunscreen.
They made it worse. It wasn't great to begin with, and now they made it more greasy/emollient. Maaaybe dry skin folks will appreciate it. The Drmtlgy one breaks me out.
I have been using it for over a year and I love it!

I loved the old version and I like the new one too! They are a little different but also similar😄 thanks for your review
is this a mattee finish? I've used the clear one in the past, might consider the AOX.

I wish they would have left it alone, to be quite honest. I have used the original for years and not sure I want to try the new one 😢
Reformulations are like that for many people

How does it compare to the tinted uv clear, as far as tone and dry down?
I have a full video on the majority of Elta MD SPFs. Check it out 🤗
