I just bought a kit for my gun and my daughters gun. I have a wingmaster that really isn't finished for duck hunting - so I'm excited to get this on my gun before the season.
I think you will really like how it turns out. Take your time and use the heat to help the material stretch and shape to the parts. I use the left overs on beer coolers, license plate frames, etc, Have fun and good luck with the project.
White Rook thanks for video, ordering my wraps for my Remington 700. Enjoy your videos, especially At Go Time. Waiting on next one. Good luck deer hunting this year
Thanks Terry, just take your time and use the heat, that is the key. Next Go Time video should be early November, then early December. Good luck to you also!
Bought mine a few days ago and wanted to see how it is done. I have a Remington 870 express super mag that is synthetic. I hope it adheres to the synthetic as good as it does the wooden type. Thanks for your very informative video.
Did my Remington 870 Saturday and was amazed by the way it turned out. Absolutely stunning! Doesn't look like the same gun and your advice about the heat was spot on too. I used a heat gun during application and it helped out immensely.
+GENO Hey Gene glad it worked out for you, but I knew it would. It really makes a big difference. Use the leftovers if any for game camera, binoculars, etc, etc. ,
I’m thinking about doing this to my Mossberg 500x it’s a pump, that’s why I’m watching your video. Ok I just started watching and came back to edit this comment. How do you cut that line without cutting into the wood stock. Did it leave a mark when you took it back off. Did you see any marks from trimming
If you don't want to take a chance marking the wood up, pre-cut everything and make it as close as you want it to end up. If you have a sharp enough blade you can feel the layers with it and avoid going too deep. Takes a little practice on some of the left over pieces from other sections. Hope that helps.
@@whiterook85 man that was so hard. It came out pretty good but my extra pieces needed to be used let’s just put it that way. And I was so light when cutting it but still cut into the wood. There’s a few bubbles. But it’s not bad. It’s a Mossberg 500. So not every expensive I would never do this on a expensive gun
I agree, not easy to do, but it turns out really well. Best for older firearms that didn't come with the nice new camo patterns. I does get a bit better after you do a few.
The little HF snap blade is the bomb for this as it eats the sharp edge and all you need to do is snap off for a new edge- total $.59 each. A clean blade makes all the difference. USE a heat gun as a hairdryer is just not hot enough to get a good job.. For most of us that don't want a cut mark on our stock we just overlap the edges. It is removable and protects your gun from the elements. Even a first time applicator can gt a good job.- Don't overheat the vinyl. Be patient and if you get a bad spot- no biggie. There are different ways to do the barrel.. all work well...
Good advice, but the hairdryer is fine, it will get so hot you can't touch a firearm part or the camo wrap. But a heat gun isn't that much $$, if you feel the need go for it.
You know you don’t need tools to take of the forgrip right! Just stick your finger in the receiver and push down on the leaver on the left side it will slide right out
Does a nice job. I'm looking for a kit for my scope only. I have a Mossberg 20 gauge with a receiver mounted scope. The stock and both barrels are factory camo, but the Nikon Pro Staff is black.
Start the tape at the side of the vented rib, go around and under the barrel. Stop at the other side of the rib, then you have to use a razor and cut out the section for the rib risers then use a tweezers or a cut plastic card to push or pull the tape through the vent. Hope that helps. Check about the 18 minute mark of the video.
I have a question when you are making the cuts with the razor blade are you cutting g into the wood stock? It seems like it would be hard not to leave a mark on the stock
Joey Zahariuk Cutting into the stock, heck no. When using it you just have a feel on how much to press to just cut the skin and not do any harm to the stock.
Not sure if I've seen one specifically for an over/under. You could just buy the roll and try to make your own, or a combo of one for a shotgun and the roll. I have used the roll on all kinds of things, game cameras, mugs, making decals, etc. So even if you had leftover you would find a use for it.
+WallyMerc06 So far so good, it made it through Delaware and Pennsylvania spring turkey seasons without anything happening to it. Used some of the left over pieces to wrap my Jeep license plate frame, outside everyday for months now and still looks like new.
That's great news. I'm happy it has held up thus far. Seems like a quality product at this point. I was always skeptical of the camo wraps in the past, but I'll be trying this one. Thank you for the review. Best of luck this deer season by the way.Cheers from Georgia. -Wally
Not that I don't like a cammo shotgun as I have several. But I would only use this product on a synthetic gun or one with poor metal and wood finish, not a nice old wood stocked shotgun with nice metal patina like yours. Kind of a shame because these older guns with nice finishes are getting harder to find. I really cringe when I see some kid spray paint a nice gun. You can buy a synthetic or an old beater pretty cheap nowadays and save those old classics for the traditional look. Nothing beats the warm glow of real wood on an old well taken care of shotgun.
I can completely agree with you. Would never think of doing it to an older (grandfathers) firearm. The ones I did were basically utilitarian, no sentimental value. You can remove the wrap in the future, a little heat gun action and it will come off.
Mossy Oak say it wont, I haven't had any rust at all. Very wet turkey season and no issues. I do make sure to wipe the firearm dry after a rainy day in the field, and leave it out to dry thoroughly.
Haha, do I get travel expenses? You will do fine. The most important things are; clean , oil free surface, sharp razor knife, heat gun, and taking your time. If you rush you will get some wrinkles. Good luck with it, let me know how you make out.
+whiterook85 I received my mossy oaks graphics kit yesterday. I was unsure about putting my first one on one of my good rifles so I chose to put it on my RWS Diana .22 pellet rifle. I can't even believe the transformation. Amazing how easy it is to work with once heat is added. I even had enough to do my scope too. Thanks for posting your video, it was the one I watched that gave me confidence in doing this project. Needless to say I'll be doing my .22 magnum next. Thanks again
+Chris R Glad it worked out to your satisfaction. You are right about the heat, it changes the texture so you can easily shape the wrap to look seamless. Good luck on the.22 mag. It will turn out great.
No, not at all. It is smoother, but if your grip has some raised checkering you can feel it right through the tape/vinyl. One good thing if you didn't like the grip you could take it off, or not put it on in the first place. Pretty versatile product.

Wow...turned out great looking!!! As always, I'm about 6 to 7 years behind everyone else!!!
It turns out very well. Takes a while to complete it, but it is worth it.

+GENO Good luck with it! It should stick fine to the synthetic stock, it is very sticky. Take your time and remember to use the heat .
Thank you sir, I will use the heat. I enjoy your vids. So much so, that you just got yourself a new subscriber. Cheers!
GENO Thanks Geno! Let me know how you make out.

Take your time and you will be very happy with the results.
Looks great man!! I just put the shadow grass blades on my Mossberg 930 because I got into waterfowl hunting and it looks great.
Thanks again for point it out.

870 Beautiful Remington s
always have fancy look of quality .
27:08 very professional looking.
Turned out real good, better than expected. Just takes some time, don't rush when doing it.
Nice job!
Thank you! Cheers!
very impressed very good job!!!
How’s it hold up 7 years later?
Looks like the day I put it on. Held up very well, no peeling, or anything at all.
Great video! Is it still holding up?
Oh yes, still looks like the day I put it on. I don't use it a lot, Turkey season, but still in great shape.
Thanks for the help

Now that’s it’s been about 5 years since this video, how would you say the wrap has held up?
how does it feel?
Nice job.
What length barrel is that 870?
26"
Thanks for sharing whiterook85!
Were can I find this I have been looking every where
Check Amazon, they have it enter "mossy oak shotgun wrap" in the search.
