You can get it tighter by doing a basic knot first, pull as hard as you can, then pull using the knot grippers. Then do a surgeons knot and pull using knot grippers.

I love your wristlet its so cute! I tried making the wristlets and whenever i use the lighter on the knot or string, then i pull on the string to make sure it's tight enough, it breaks. Idk what im doing wrong.

Great tutorial! I have used a soldering iron to melt ends of cording in the past. I've found I can get closer and not scorch the surrounding area!

I noticed with the other videos I have watched they say be careful when you pull to tie the knot so you don’t break it. So that means to me that the customer could also break it if they aren’t careful. I personally don’t want to sell faulty products.

Ok!! I will not use elastic string.
I did have a key ring made with silicone, one wooden bead, and elastic before that’s why I was asking. But you are absolutely right I don’t want to Risk an injury in any way. Love your shop and thanks for being such an inspiring boss babe!
