    Hello. I've started to take ritalin 2 weeks ago and i definitly notice it cicking in. However, the impulses i get from my ADHD don't go away and I get distracted just as much. The problem is that i feel like retalin makes me hyper focused on my distractions, rather than my work. It's not like the dosage is too low because everytime i take it, i definitely feel it, but i get exactly the same amount of work done as before i was taking them because i'm still very easily distracted.

      Not a weak mindset, but you have to understand, these medications treat symptoms, not the cause, as well as no drug can fully cure adhd, so you have to also make an effort to design your life and workspace in a way which supports and compliments the effect of the drug

      @@TheHutesyou nailed it. It's like going to the gym while still having a bad diet. Good luck!
      You can lose weight without going to the gym but can't outwork a bad diet. Similar, you can't medicate bad habits but medication can help you break bad habits.

      That’s because the drugs are the glasses for your brain, you still have to shift the focus and sustain it on the correct task yourself. The drugs will allow you to do things easier, you still have to do them. Best of luck.

    Hello! I’ve started to take 3 pills/day for two months now but my psychiatrist said that I need to reduce it to 1 pill a day for 4 months! Is this new dose correct? I feel like as soon as the effect goes away I’m feeling already so lazy and again disorganized. They are not long compound or long release tablets, this is what worried me. Can you give me some input? I’ve been doing great these couple of months, also he said that I should learn to use it under my own responsibility ?? So I don’t have specific hours to take it only use my own criteria 😢everything is very confusing, I’m 26 and been diagnosed only two months ago. Thanks in advance

      Hi Nicolas, typically if you are only taking short acting Ritalin most people take more than one a day because it wears off, but it depends, some patients can take it once a day because for example they might be fine in their job without it but needs it for a few hours of study at night for a course they are doing. So they can be used in different ways depending on your circumstance!

    Hello, very informative video! I’d been on Vyvanse for the past 7 years but had to switch to Ritalin 10mg short acting this week due to a change in insurance. I’ve been instructed to take one tablet when I wake up, and another one 5 hours later, but by the time I need to take the second pill I haven’t felt the effects of the first pill. After the second pill I feel more productive for 2-3 hours, but I really need to feel the effects sooner since I’m at work and can’t be productive without the medication. In your opinion should I be taking the two pills closer together in time? Should the dosage be increased? Or should I wait and give my body more time to adjust to the medication change? Thank you!

    • @drkiddMD
      @drkiddMD  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does sound like that your dosages are too far apart. Some patient's take 2 x tablets at once if they need a stronger dose, 2-3 times a day.

      I just started Ritalin and I’m at 5mg , you probably need a much bigger dosage if you have been taking meds for 7 years

    Hey, I’m 17 and have been taking Ritalin for a few years and have responded to it pretty well, right after I take my pill I start doing my work and notice my focus peaking around 30 minutes after taking it then subsiding around 30 minutes later. This is still a solid hour of productive work which is incredible compared to not being able to focus at all but do you have any advice on how to lengthen this period of focus?

    • @KatanaFPV
      @KatanaFPV 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This confuses me cause after you take your pill, you won't really start absorbing it into your bloodstream after around 15 minutes or so, then the drug has to concentrate further as it's being processed. So you should really only be getting around 40-ish minutes of productivity unless the first 15 minutes right after ingesting the pill are placebo?

      Although cigarettes are not great for your health, it probably has minimal effect on the efficacy of Ritalin.

    i got severe ADHD and i tend to respond really well to cannabis (Sativa only tho) never looked back to any type of pill since (apart from ibuprofen😅) Id suggest everyone to try SATIVA cannabis (unless you have any type of underlying problem with psychoses)
    Edit: Apart from the fact it works alot better and it doesnt come with those nasty side effects, it is also 100 times healthier then any type of pharmaceutical

    Why is smoking marijuana a red flag to ptescribing stimulants to adults with adhd.

    • @drewu9157
      @drewu9157 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably because it's too much demand on the heart in a given period. Marijuana can change our heart rate just like stimulants, so both together may be too demanding.

      I also know people that take the fang stimulants and then get prescribed blood pressure meds to offset that effect of the stimulants.
      Seems pretty gay if you ask me . Seems like they don't really care what it does.
      They also prescribe medical cannabis to heart patients to treat aruthmia so ... yeah.
