  • Being a person of "shorter stature," I wanted to figure out a way to ride Harley Davidson's Ultra Limited safely and comfortably. After discussing the subject with the sales department, we came up with a plan that works quite well.
    For anyone interested in enjoying all the comforts of the Ultra Limited, but think it's too tall, I discuss all the modifications I've made, demonstrate the impacts of those changes, and describe the challenges that come with lowering an Ultra Limited.

    With the 12 inch shocks have you had any issues with the tire getting up into the fender on some bumps and swails.

      Sometimes, but so very rarely… and only when fully loaded. The bigger issue is how stiff the shocks are when it’s just me with no gear. They can be adjusted, but I often forget to do so until I’m already on the road.

    Did you have to go with the low kick stand

      No, actually… and excellent question. It still has the original stand and works great. I did add on the extender so I can retract it easier, but that’s the only adjustment. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!

    I have a 2014 cvo ultra limited , will an ultra limited low oem seat fit on my bike ?

    • @2upLiving
      @2upLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can’t speak for 2014s, but the low one seat swaps out just fine for the original seat. I had intended to swap them as needed, but I rarely use the low any more, even when riding solo.
      If you’re trying to lower yourself an inch and do less than 300 miles at a time, the low seat is a good option.

    I would think the pullback handlebar on the Factory limited low would keep you in a more vertical position. At your convenience please let me know your thoughts.

      I know the Low version has a smaller bar diameter and forgoes heated grips because of that... I've come to love the heated grips, especially here in Colorado, so don't know if this idea would work. I don't know though... maybe I'm under the wrong assumptions about smaller diameter bars and heated grips. I'll check it out, but if you have any insight, please lmk. Thanks for the comment!

    I’m your same height and I’m interested in the ultra limited what is the cost to have the front forks and rear shocks done. Thank you

      Oh, good question. I pulled up my bill of sale and swapping out the forks, adding Legend Revo-A, and getting the Low seat added an additional $2593.66 in 2021 dollars before taxes. Let me know if that helps.

      @2upLiving thank you that helps a bunch with negotiating the price of the bike. Thanks again!

      Sure - the part number on the sticker of my 2-up oem low seat is: P52000174. LMK if you have any more questions, and thanks for the question!

    How much did it lower your bike overall from stock?

    • @2upLiving
      @2upLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      An inch. May not seem a lot but it made a solid impact.

      I was looking at a 1" lowering block for the rear shocks. Any reasons why you didn't just use them instead?

    • @2upLiving
      @2upLiving  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stress on the block was my only concern... it also puts the shock at a different angle and could put the stress on the shock at a bad angle. Also, an inch in the back doesn't equate an inch at the seat, so it's a minor adjustment.
