Other than just trying achieve the "slammed" look these are good for leveling the bike out from installing a 21" wheel from a 16" that's why Im looking into lowering just the front.
Hi. Good Video, but wich one should i choose now? I don't care about the higher assembly effort of the basic kit. But which one has the better rider or comfort? Why does the drop in kit don't have progressive springs? Which kit do you prefer?
Just inquiring.....I have a 13 V Rod Muscle and was thinking that the drop in would be the best option for what I want. Being that I am also dropping the rear 2". Any thoughts on which one would be better??? Thanks!
Hey, I am going with no front suspension putting stainless steel half shaft collar’s on the front forks. I want to feel the road when your doing 100 MPH it doesn’t matter anyway. Tired of leaking front forks. Thank You 🙏. Peace Out ✌️
I'm thinking of putting progressive heavy duty stock length fork springs in my 1985 FXWG. I'm 6'3" 250lbs What weight fork oil would you recommend? I was told to use Bel Ray 15W ???
I have a 2020 FLHTKSE the bike is actually too tough for me, but I enjoy it. I’m thinking about lowering the front and the rears. What do you recommend if it’s progressive or legends what would be the best way to go for the best ride on the bike or any suspension that you recommend.
I just installed 11inch 412's which replaced my stock 12inch shocks. It lowered the back end about 2inches from back fender to ground. I looking to buy progressive lowering kit for the frontend on my 2014 dyna street bob. Im looking to level it out, frontend is stock, now. How long should the pvc be after I cut it? 1inch pvc to get 2inch drop vertically? Thanks
The traditional lowering kit adds one or two Progressive lowering damper rod springs, so the damper rod needs to be removed from the fork, in order to install that new spring below the damper rod. The Drop-In Kits don't require disassembly like that. -DrewZilla
I have a 2011 street glide flhx with a 21 inch im installing progressive 1-2 inch drop on front forks anyone have instructions on the install im needing to know if the damper spring goes back into fork or due I leave it out also the length of the pvc spacer for 1 inch drop
Lemmy do I have to remove the Fairing to install the lowering kit on a 2012 Street glide.. will all parts fit just removing the cover under ignition as in video... tHank you for your input....
+Jim Sanchez On your Street Glide, you will need to remove both the inner and outer fairing in order to remove the current springs and add drop-in springs. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-drop-in-fork-lowering-kit-for-harley-1984-2015
It all depends on your weight as well as suspension changes in the rear, but yes, you'll probably need to shorten the front to account for the change in wheel diameter. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla Awesome thanks! I went with a set of Progressive lowering springs. Since Im doing the lowers anyway I figured I might as well throw in a set of springs. Do you suggest 1 or 2"? Im around 200lbs, haven't changed any of the rear suspension. Still has the stock air shocks.
Yes, we offer a few different sizes of fork seals. Be sure to use the _Select Your Bike_ feature to confirm fitment for your Harley. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/leakproof-seals-49mm-fork-seal-kit-for-harley-2006-2016 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/james-gasket-fork-seal-kit-for-harley

please no bashing. im not a biker, just curious, this theory also apply to springs for cars right? searched "what is progressive lowering spring" and this video is the 1st to show up. sry
Hey mikeal here, I'm buying a 82 harley shovelhead and I'm a lil bit to short for the bike so I wanna lower it but I'm not sure how to do that, now I've been looking at a drop kit called a slammer kit and I just wanna ask if any body has put this kit on there bike and if so did you have to modify anything?
im installing torpedo forks on my 14 streetglide, is it a must to replace the springs while doing this or can i just use the same springs from stock forks?
I'd recommend the standard Fork Lowering Kit as well as slightly shorter rear shocks like the 944 Ultra Touring in Standard spring and 12" length. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-fork-lowering-kit-for-harley-big-twin-1984-2017 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-944-series-fst-ultra-shocks-for-harley-touring-1984-2016
So I installed the Tradition kit on a 2000 Fatboy. And now the suspension is so hard! Seems like there is no room for travel. Feels like a rigid front end. I did the 2" drop. Help?
You might be able to use a different length spacer. For more technical troubleshooting, I recommend speaking with Progressive directly at 877-690-7411. -DrewZilla
You would just need the stock springs and spacers or the stock length Progressive spring kit. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-fork-springs-for-harley
We have a Lowering Kit, but it isn't a simple drop-in kit. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-fork-lowering-kit-for-harley-touring-2014-2016
Your rear shocks are already super low at 11 inches, so the only shorter option is the Burly Slammer Shock at 10.5 inches. For the front, you can do a drop in lowering kit. Keep in mind that the shorter suspension will have a slightly rougher ride quality. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/burly-slammer-shocks-for-harley-sportster-2004-2017 *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/progressive-drop-in-fork-lowering-kit-for-harley-sportster-2016-2017
There are too many variables with your setup to be able to make an accurate recommendation in this case. Depending on your current rake, fork tube length, spring length, and fairing/fender clearance, you may or may not have any issues. I recommend you replace your current fork springs with springs with the same length. You'll have to see what length you have right now. -DrewZilla
We don't have a lowering kit from Progressive, but we do have a good lowering kit from Burly with progressively wound springs. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/burly-fork-lowering-kit-for-harley-1987-2015

Did you do it ? I just took 16 off.an put 21 on.
Oh...He said on more difficult cases it was a 2 to 3 BEARD difficulty. I'm sure my friend said it was 2-3 BEERS installation difficulty.

Can you explain why disassembling the front forks to install the traditional lowering kit is needed? Thanks
The traditional lowering kit adds one or two Progressive lowering damper rod springs, so the damper rod needs to be removed from the fork, in order to install that new spring below the damper rod. The Drop-In Kits don't require disassembly like that. -DrewZilla
Moh Aym ahh damn just had chrome front end fitted, would prefer to go traditional route which means taking it apart again!
I have 2011 street glide flhx would I leave the damper spring/valve out of fork with this kit all the videos and diagrams don’t show the damper spring
Would drop in kit be a good choice if I use my bike for drag racing sometimes? Thanks!
That would probably be fine for occasional use, but to maintain suspension travel, it's better to go for the non-drop-in kit. -DrewZilla
Will it bottom out if i go 2”?
Thanks
I cant get the left fork cap off. It's stuck. The right side was easy. Any suggestions

just need more leg ( Im short) which one do you recommend for a 2006 Harley ultra classic
I'd recommend the standard Fork Lowering Kit as well as slightly shorter rear shocks like the 944 Ultra Touring in Standard spring and 12" length. -DrewZilla
