Hello guys, there’s other way to solve this problem. Consider BE = x (say) and CE = y (say). Now apply tan to both angles. You will get linear equations in two variables. Ultimately solve for y and that will be your answer. 😁

Nice video with great diagram. We could also use this to mark the location (map distance (AE), not walking(AC)) of very high trees, towers, buildings... that are partially hidden by lower ones in between you and them..

SO NICE SIR. BUT ONE THING I CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW CAN I REALIZE THAT THIS IS RIGHT ANGLED TRIANGLE.? BECAUSE DUE TO HILLY GROUND I CAN'T MEASURE RIGHT ANGLE. THIS FORMULA IS APPLICABLE FOR RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE ONLY. SO PLEASE EXPLAIN SIR CLEARLY.

I totally agree with this method but surely it only works if the earth is flat. Can you please explain how they calculate these measurements when one of the axis is supposedly curved. Or are you one of those crazy flat earthers?
