Serato and InMusic need to come to an agreement and let MPC users install Serato Sample as a plug in. so far everything i throw at MPC stems comes out sounding pretty bad
@PetrolMediaInc This is true, but much of the excitement surrounding stems was to be able to function all in the box. It's not serato level in standalone, but I still like it. And if/when I need the quality to be better, fire up my computer. Then, even stems in MPC 2 is decent for what I need
I commented on one of your vids a few months ago asking about how to work with stems on singular pads and it was because of the glitch you mention at the end of this video! Been using the MPC for a year now and you've been super helpful in learning how to use it! Thank u bro!!

Been loving using stems tbh, I only do it on standalone so i've gotten used to the quality. I've also had the bug where it doesnt add the stems to a pad. Biggest pain for me is when the file wont save after stem separation on 3.4 (Seems to happen when i have a long sample file name and the e.g : 'Long Filename - vocal' gets added to the end). Thanks for the video, cant say I learned anything new in this one, but gotten so much good advice and ideas from the rest of your stuff, top tier, keep them coming Malo. BTW would love to see what you can do with a DnB tune using your samples!
Thanks for this new video. It was very interesting use of the stem separation. I've never met this kind of problem, but I'm still with MPC2.15. Maybe it's a glitch due to MPC 3 beta ? I don't know. For the song you sample, it seems to me like horns more than strings, but I'm not expert. That doesn't change anything about process and idea. It was a cool beat for beginning 2025. Hello friend, do you know when it will be able to recognize projects (load) between MPC3 and MPC2? First of all, excellent work and information on your part.
Lots of good websites and services out there with good stem separation. Akai seems to have forgotten their machines have an actual internet connection to use these kind of services for heavy processing tasks.
The glitch you had mentioned happened to me this morning and maaaaaan, it’s definitely a glitch. 😭 I love MPC3.0 but the road bumps in the beta really mess with my workflow at times.
Thanks man. I actually forgot all about the bounce to sample feature from program editor 😂 My stems have been acting crazy lately though... And I have to keep releasing then reloading stems from inMusic. It'll work for a week, then i have to go thru the entire process of releasing, powercycling, reinstalling again before it works correctly. Ever since the latest beta update. So I actually do stems in koala now. You're not doing anything wrong 👍🏾
One could spend an eternity on pre and post sample processing prior to stem processing to really nail it from the beginning. So much so that it turns into a tangent blackhole and detracts from being productive. Get a banger idea then mix master later.
Ive had the same issue with the stems trying to do it on separate pads ever since updating to the beta. Hopefully something Akai is aware of and is fixing! Great video as always!

Yea mpc stems is trash
Mpcs processor couldn't handle seratos algorithm though LoL Serato is intensive
Same here.
If you use the MPC 2 software in controller mode and you have the serato plugin it will just work. It just doesn’t work in stand alone.

Malo I can’t still can’t get to the screen where you adjust the stem volume?
After you've used stems.Press the program edit button 1 time.then press the samples button(the one onscreen next to global)twice.
Im.coming from fl studio...and serato sample triumph akai stems plus theres a bug on 3.0 where u cant save projects

This is how you use stem separation on the MPC . Do it in the software because you will see a significantly improvement . It’s like night and day 😮

I was excited for Mpc stems but the quality of the stems doesn’t compete with Fl Studio stems separation. It’s a pain going back and forth but hey

I have MPC stems and I barely use it, I rarely had a good result. Moises app it's almost perfect on my opinion especially on removing drums.
