      @@MoniJohnson Haha, sounds about right….you do have the gift of youthful looks. The slider is cool, just as I was wondering about it’s parallax abilities you addressed it. Well done.

      Footage from the GVM was solid. I had no issues with it at all. I only upgraded for something that was programmable for 3 different axes.

    Question about your version of the slider my dude. Does yours make a high frequency noise at certain power levels? I just picked one up and was running tests on it, and I find a very noticeable high pitched noise at many of the power levels. There's 2 different ranges of about 4-5% that I don't notice it on. The rest it's honestly super annoying. Any thoughts?

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I no longer have this slider so I'm not sure what version it was. Mine did not make any high-pitched noises though.

    Can it be mounted vertically?

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but depends on the weight of your setup. With a smaller mirrorless I was able to use the slider mounted vertically without issue. With a heavier setup the motor failed unless I changed the pitch/angle of the mount.

    Great video man. Question: can this slider operate if I am the subject? Meaning that can I set it to automatically move while I am in the shot? Not having to press anything on the remote while it’s moving is what I mean.

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much for the comment. Once you set and start your slides, you won't need to interact with the controller again until you want to restart or stop what you programmed. You can set slides for single pass or loop also. On loop you can just let it run throughout your whole shot.

    What made you choose this model over the carbon fiber slider? Considering GVM 80QD.

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure the carbon fiber version was available when I bought mine. May have been, but I was not aware of it. My most recent slider (from Rhino) is carbon fiber though.

      @@MoniJohnson ok ty dang thats kinda messed up and 4 feet isnt very long lol

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that can seem limiting but it's definitely still a good piece of gear. For my needs, having the wire wasn't an issue. Not really "remote control" though.

  • @arayaheaven6165
    @arayaheaven6165 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can this be attached to a tripod?

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. It has 3 pairs of mounting holes on the bottom- one in the middle, one on the left end, one on the right end. Each pair has a 1/4" and a 3/8" hole. Because the slider is so wide, if you use at full width with a single tripod/stand you'll get some sagging at the ends. I always use two tripods/stands (one on either end) to prevent sagging.

      Im on the same boat . Is there a added effect when the slider is longer ? For music video , interviews ect ?

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A longer slider will definitely give a more "pronounced" effect but if you get the 48" be sure to setup with two stands/tripods.

    • @POTENTDOMAIN
      @POTENTDOMAIN 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoniJohnson could you elaborate alil on the pronounced effect . Haven't really found precise info on this effect . Need to buy one with next hour .

    • @MoniJohnson
      @MoniJohnson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply. We're at a photo shoot right now.Think of it like this: If you're moving with the camera, if all other factors are the same then footage where the camera moves 48 feet the motion (and changes within the scene) will be more noticeable than when moving only 31 feet. *I use those numbers to compare a 48 inch slider to a 31 inch slider.
