    How is this different to tightening one side and bouncing on the front wheel with the front brakes on a few times to align the brake pads, then tightening all the bolts? This is the that people like Dave Moss does it?

    The handbook says to using a gauge once the calipers have been installed to check the clearance between discs and calipers but I'm not sure what the difference would be. They also pump the forks then tighten the pinch bolts.
    Advice on this would be much appreciated.

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      morpheus20170 No clue... If you install the axle, then tighten the axle bolt, it will align the forks. Then tighten your cinch bolts and make sure the axle bolt is still tight. I usually put the calipers on last. I can't tell you how many 1KRR's I have done this way, but no one has ever had an issue. This is pretty much the same for every sportbike.

      @@RideWNC you would tighten one side up then tighten the axle nut then pump the forks to seat the axle then tighten up the other pinch bolts,everybikes owners manual has a diofferent way of doing it form what ive seen

    hi thanks for the video :) should i remove the disc brakes before taking the wheel to the tyre shop?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Never. Two reasons. You want your wheel and rotors to be balanced together. AND rotor bolts are one time use only.

    I have a question and please forgive me I’m a little new to the subject but I have a 2005 CBR 1000 repsol. I’m looking for some aftermarket wheels I’m looking for light gold honeycomb wheels but I am noticing that there’s none out there for 2005 how can I make these wheels fit

    which spacer is for the fight side and which is for the left side?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      3:40 The left goes on the left side. Usually the thinner one will be where the thick part of the axle touches it.

    • @wyattwooten5286
      @wyattwooten5286 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The one spacer has more of a shoulder on it and the other is more symmetrical so I wanted to make sure it wasn’t messed up from the previous owner. I’m getting a little bit of a weird wear patter on my front tire

    Hey bro, if I’m getting resistance after putting my front wheel back on, what could that be? I spread the brake pads out before putting them back on, pumped them , and it still feels as tho they’re rubbing

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Brake pads will rub. Don't sweat it. The wheel should not spin freely once you have pumped the brakes.

    • @donnylem8818

      @@RideWNC Still kindve feeling resistance when I push the bike around the garage, is that normal also? Still haven’t rode it yet, I was kindve nervous, wasn’t sure if that’s good to go

      HUMRAZ SOHI Is the arrow on the wheel going in the right direction? The arrow needs to point the direction the tire spins when moving forward.

    is the tire backwards? pattern should be other way?

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah... Right... Good Question and I hear it often when I am installing tires. Don't go by what "you" think the direction the of the tread should go. Always use the arrow on the side of the tire matched to the arrow on the wheel. Both the motorcycle manufacturer and the tire manufacturer spends a lot of money to R&D tires. They might know a little bit more than which direction you think the tire should go. The front tire is made to wick the water away from the back tire. Front and rear tires usually have different tread directional patterns.
