Karl Jenkins is a Welsh composer and musician who began his career as an oboist in English jazz rock. After this musical essay, Jenkins wrote jingles and music for commercials. The most famous of these being « Adiemus » a ambitious mix of classical music, which has remained at the top of the best listens worldwide. Jenkins is a two-time industry award winner in advertising music and has received several awards, including appointment to the Royal Academy of Music, and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. By naming his composition « Palladio », Karl Jenkins wants to pay homage to the architect Andrea Palladio. Palladio was an Italian Renaissance master and author of a treatise entitled « The Four Books of Architecture ». His work had a considerable impact and still influences many architects today. Palladio took care to apply the rules of proportion of architectural composition but also the rules of musical proportions set out by Pythagoras. Perhaps Jenkins' most famous piece is the classic theme used by diamond dealers De Beers for their television advertising campaign emphasizing jewelry worn by silhouettes. The composer includes this theme as the title song in a compilation title Diamond Music and eventually titled « Palladio » from his Concerto Grosso for Strings in using the first movement « Allegretto ». This composition of Karl Jenkins has several structures or planes which gives a report between the architecture of Palladio and the music. *Lucien*

Thank you WDR Klassik for sharing this beautiful video and music ! 😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
I can't unhear the Happy Birthday.
It suppose to be inspired in the renaissance music in honor to the architect Andrea Palldio, but it sounds more in the baroque and classical period, it has something of Vivaldi as well, but nobody can deny the beauty of this " concerto grosso " written in 1995.

I dont like the solo work here. Sounds broken, and a bit flat
