I'd suggest using 5w40 or 5w50 oil as those a proven to be better in N54. They always have high oil temps anyway and good oil is crucial now that you are pushing 2x the stock power. Everyone here in Germany runs 5w50 without problems so you might wanna look into that. Cheers!
Man you ain’t never lied, my N52 always have High Oil temps but I just believe most if not all have high ass temps 😂💵
What do ya'll (in terms of brand and type of oil) run in Germany?
I'm surprised u say so viele Leute use 50 weight considering even here in the American South, a lot stick to 40.
I think 50 makes sense for track, drawback on street is it takes longer to come up to temp and do its sloshing.
I use 5w50 on every single fast car i own. Its just good on high performance engines.
I have 2009 316i should I use 5w30 or 5w40
@@cosmin1574Castrol 530 as that's what it was designed to run. Also replace all 4 springs if you haven't done it yet or you will be into struts as well when they break and they WILL break. To back that up, I've owned an 08, an 11 and my buddy has the same 08. Multiple springs broke on all 3 cars so it's no longer a coincidence at that point.

You should ditch the GFB and connect your MAC solenoid directly to the DME and allow MHD to regulate/control it.
Should also look into getting Motiv Reflex+/lite for PI and ethanol content.

Question why do you need to drop the whole sub frame? And remove the sway bar along with everything else? I like watching this channel.
But couldn't you loosen the motor mounts lift the motor up. Remove the air intake n the coolant hoses on that side.

The single turbo makes it more reliable because the twin turbos had many issues (correct me if I am wrong)

Hell yeah! Please put turbo blanket on asap. They're known to melt valve cover since they're right on top of each other. Make sure get good quality blanket. Look into Funk Motorsports one.

Bro be careful with break lines burning from the turbo I’ve heard it happens a few times make sure ur break lines are clear from the heat
Need heat shielding on engine cover ...cut if needed next to turbo. Turbo blanket, wrap by oil feed line. Heat shield the oil line or it will catch on fire from turbo compressor heat ..Use 5w40 weight oil Lil heavier for wear on components. 60 rolls only. Have turner set it so you boost doesn't ramp in at low rpm range pushing a rod. Only Shell gasoline. Everything else dries out index injectors. Gonna need wider tires 295 Hankook v12 to get traction plus m3 differential and bilsten heavy duty 😲 shocks. But keep it 550hp till you get set up..
Oh once you run e85 drain oil every 🙄 time. E85 draws moisture into crank case ..causing spun bearings. With the age of your mother it's 50/50.
I had mine hybrid 35i tuned by JSR.
