We asked the homeowner and the Builder if we could record a time lapse of their rear extension build, and they agreed!
This cost around £60,000 for the build (this is an approximate and not the exact amount).

i'm guessing the kitchen itself was about 20k so all together around 40-45k

Can you tell me what was done on the external wall from neighbours extension. Did you put only insulation and plaster board?
Not my extension but from what I saw yes insulated and plaster boarded.
My mrs would expect myself to do this over a weekend

It looks like the soil pipe from an upstairs bathroom was moved to the right hand corner. Was there enough of a gradient to connect the toilet where it was or did it have to be moved to the side of the room?

Looks like a cold roof construction, and doesn’t look like there there is ventilation, no counter battening to allow cross flow of air?
Actually interesting you say this, building control requested vents to be put in after the good and now they have 4 tubes in the for ventilation, bit of a shame as it makes the roof look a little strange.
@@GeekStreet would of been better install an abutment vent along the joint with the house, and vent of softs so air can flow front to back, no mushroom vents needed them, even better would of been to install a warm roof

How do you go about turning the neighbours external wall on their extension into an internal wall for the extension being built ?
You can do if its a party wall
@@GeekStreet Thanks, do you create a cavity insulate it and tie it in to block work which then becomes the internal wall ? Are there many ways of doing it ?
@@Mike-fx4wk a build or an architect should be able to advise, on this extension insulated plasterboard was stuck on on the party wall. Hope that helps.
