Proper school dinners were the sit down variety only, unless you brought a sanswich from home. In my day they cost 12p and you got a meat main and a pudding, usually sponge and custard. However if you arrived late you got a slice of Spam. Perhaps that's why I am not particularly keen on it. Then of course there was the famous 'seconds' As for this meal, looks good, but I would only buy it as a stand by. There are so many other ready meals out there at half the price. I don't doubt it is tasty, but it takes longer to make real mash then the meal cooking time. Who wants instant mash if you are paying £4 for this stew. Nice one Deano for coming clean on your disapproval of Jamie. I read bankruptcy in the comments, this true?
Me and the wife had a shocking meal in one of his restaurants in Norwich, wrote a scathing review and the cheeky beggars offered us £10 compo for a disgrace of a meal well over £100 🖕😡 . The establishment did not last long thank heaven.
A real chef would never slap their name on ready meals or restaurants they have next to nothing to do with. They wouldn't want to have their reputation destroyed.
yesterdays meal was great when you are totally broke but at least you have that and it's savory and warm and fills you up which is great. This however is food on a whole different level :)
Yes it ssems strange that you would not defrost it first or at least in the miro ping, also adding 4 tlb spoon of water was probably not necessary, you probably had more than that in the ice surrounding that lump the trouble with these chef indorsed meals that carry a high premium, but you followed the instruction, to give it the best chance to impress.
The only good thing in that was the sacred Irish beef! Hob or microwave are perfectly fine. Thank God Deano did not put it in the oven or air fryer. 😝 £4 for any meal for one is a disgrace!!! Go to Sainsbury's and get a meal from their Stamford Street range for £0.90p and I bet they are better than this! My favourite is either the Beef Hotpot or the Beef Lasagna. The first sight of it in the pan looked disgusting. It had a green tinge to it! 🤮💩 The end result did not look too bad, but I am not even going to pay £2 never mind £4! However, it is crying out for potatoes or dumplings to soak up all that gravy.
Oh JO what is he doing?!? 🤦🏽♀️ If you’re all about health then don’t put your name to frozen crap or make sure it’s as healthy as if you made it yourself 🤷♀️ To be fair 3.7g of sat fat, 4.4g of sugar isn’t bad for ready meals at all - the salt lets him down and you have to account for mash and veg on top of that 🫤 He’s selling ready meals to help teach people how to cook??? 🤦🏽♀️ He has a recipe book on how to cook healthy meals from scratch in the same time as to heat that up?!? 🤯
really Jamie Oliver joins the rip off Iceland range. items that are far too expensive for what you get. Jamie had bugger all to do with the meal they offered him money to use his name he took it and ran away it would be far far better to have it defrost 1st. what a waste of electricity. not much carrots nothing like the box. a bowl of gravy.... not sure if worth £3 by the time you make it a meal you have spent a £5 on it.
@@annother3350Works for them though unfortunately. You only have to look at the continued success and passion for Heinz products to realise that Brits are absolute idiots when it comes to branding
Jamie Oliver is an annoying, hipster "james"...( James you say...as in James HUNT ....HUNT. old time racing driver) ...I see Oliver and think... "What a divvy, hipster HUNT !" Anything he puts his name to will taste of Campden Town and smell like a vegan coffee shop / satchels fir men boutique

Rain so bad in spain we’ve got rivers and cars floating down the road. Not near me but It’s horrendous x
One of the biggest rip-off chains in the City of London. The Canary Wharf branch was atrocious for price and quality. Really glad it closed down.
£4 for one portion 😱 !!! I've got 5 portions of Dino sterw in freezer for same price, added red wine stock 🤔
I love Jamie Oliver ❤! I loved the naked chef. I always liked Jamie better than Gordon bloody Ramsay!
Bet he regrets putting his name to that pmsl, glad you enjoyed regardless xD
Another great one from Deano. But too expensive for me.
You can nearly cook from fresh in that time and possibly could if u don’t care about “getting the flavours deep into the meat”
Bowl of that with some crusty bread and I’m happy
I like the Morrisons brand x
o dear deano, i felt how much that killed u to like that, i with u he a tit, lol x
Au contraire Rodney, au contraire! 😀

Deano I thought u had a hair transplant in the thumb nail lol😂
Jamie hates e numbers, unless he makes money off them
Why so much salt? It's not needed...

Would also be nice with bread and butter for all that gravy 😊
You a leeds utd fan?
Jamie Oliver declared bankruptcy and owed 100s of thousands to his ex staff and suppliers 😠
Can't stand the bloke!
❤
That would probably go nice with rice
I reckon he a leeds utd fan😂😊😊😊😊❤
Looks nice bit expensive tho
And he ruined iron bru.
He ruined most soft drinks and got people drinking sweetener chemicals every day.

Hi Deano, that was only good cos Jamie Oliver didn't cook it. His recipes don't work. Great review.
