  • To say that times have changed with it comes to electric chainsaws would be an understatement. After a few hours of use, I can say that this not only blows my old 18V Ryobi chainsaw out of the water, it also is an equal to my two gas powered saws.
    Very impressed!

      Amen, that was a great producing tree. We made peach jam every year with it.

    Looks like a nice homeowner type saw. Good review.

      It would be perfect for the average homeowner, I would not recommend for heavy duty or commercial work

    That looks good.. but I must admit I would miss the sound of the old gas powered saw echoing in the hills.. Especially in the early spring with trimming, fog, cold weather, hot coffee and comrades.. There is just something about that time that makes me reflective and appreciative. Carry on brother!

      Fair enough! My neighbors do enough with the gas saws that i will still hear it

    I have the modern 10 inch Ryobi 18 volt, it's impressive for its size. I cut down a couple decent sized trees with it, and the battery life is very good.

      I have the old Ryobi chainsaw, (like 20 years old) and this one is so much more powerful

    I'm impressed it did such a great job. Had you not done this video I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even look at one. Maybe they just did get it right with chainsaws.

      I had an older 18v (like 15 years old) and it is nothing like this. I would have gotten rid of the gas one long ago

    I love my Milwaukee M18 12 amper chainsaw. It absolutely thrashes through oak and keeps up with my gas Stihl and Husqvarna. The bad thing is the batteries are $200 a pop.

    • @FarpointFarms
      @FarpointFarms  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The battery is almost as much as the tool. That is where they get you

      @@FarpointFarms yes sir. I bought it back in 2019 and those batteries were $100 then. Now they're double.

    My best bud is a heavy equipment operator who builds logging roads for 25years. He drives at least an hour off road every day to the site. He has carried an electric chain saw with him for 3years. It uses the same battery and charger as his impact gun, grease gun that he uses for maintenance every day. He says he will never carry a gas saw and fuel again. The performance is beyond surprising.

    I was definitely surprised with the results. But I can’t make the switch from gas. My old girl is just too reliable.

    Nice outfit ! Beats yanking on a cord wearing out your shoulder, or trying to keep up with an extension cord. Some of those chunks of wood would look good turned out on a lathe.
