I bought a silver-gray base model E320 wagon 3 months ago. I love the Bose sound system. But most of all, when I return to it in a public parking lot, it is always the best looking wagon there amidst dozens of look-alike suv's and vans.
I sold mine after about 18 months. Sometimes I miss it though when I think about the 30+ miles per gallon around town. Also it was just a nice looking wagon when parked next to all the other look-a-likes in the Walmart parking lot.@@latenbargestin5918
I always liked the solid-sounding kur-THUNK of the door slam on Mercedes cars. Sounds very safe and reassuring. This Mercedes would probably make for a safe, practical family car :)
I have one of these, but it's a 1999 and it has a burgundy exterior. Over 120,000 km's on it and it still runs like a charm. And boy is it fast! Gotta love the early V8's.
I got my wife this car with 100k she loves it 40k miles later she still loves it! She has a long commute and she feels relaxed when she arrives home. This has the oil suspension so is like ridding in a cloud. The steering sensor was leaking so u bought 10 dollar o ring from Amazon and fixed a 500 dollar part. Motor mounts are expensive and difficult to install but they are a state of the art hydronic mounts making this thing completely vibration free. And my last complaint is the roof fabric is saggy otherwise this car is an autobahn cruiser like no other these can cruise at very high speeds no sweat and the 4matic is amazing on the snow. I wish the lights where a bit stronger but that's something I can upgrade.i approve this car is a solid German tank. Other day I told her we need to sale one of our 3 cars and she got all defensive about selling her car lol she told me she will drive it until the tires fall off. So now at 150k miles has not aged a bit and still cruises at high speeds with ease.
Buying a 2000 w210 this week. I've always wanted one, love their looks. Gonna be a fun fixer-uper, interior has some degradation, but I'm looking forward to the quality time with the car.
Lovely car, although I do prefer the sedan. W210 are very reliable. They do rust easily though so take the proper precautions for that. I'd love a E430 4matic. Great all around vehicle.
@cipmars Actually it was. If you've seen videos or pics of mid to late 80's Mercedes, you can see they kept the basic design but they added "modern touches" along the way.
Hallo Kyle, when you turned on the light you can pull the lightswitch to turn on the fog lights. Same on VW cars. In germany you can normaly turn on the radio without ignition. And when you switch the engine off and the radio goes off too, you can turn it on again. Greetings from germany.
being a younger person, i never fully understood the trunk-mounted CD changer found in many older (around 10 years old or more) vehicles. would that mean every time you had a new CD, you would have to open up the trunk into that compartment and load it in there?
@stopscrewingaround11 ...or maybe it is and the badge came off somehow. I have a feeling it was in an accident, that shift knob is not the one that comes on the car and I highly doubt that chrome trim in the rear interior does either.
Such an awesome car, the only thing I don't like are those old headlight designs from this generation mercedes. Other than that, it's an EXCEPTIONAL car!!! Great job Mercedes!
@datboiwes333 I've visited family in Houston, Texas in summer 2009 and the heat and humidity was insane. Some days pushed 100F before noon! A/C in cars and homes is a must there no matter what or it will be miserable.
@physchohead24, then you should to find a YT channel about RV's (mhrsv1 or something like that) . There are LOTS of RV's videos on this channel from Texas.
@chris000089 German auto makers tend to run each generation of cars for a little longer than their American or Japanese counterparts because they spend a ton of money each generation engineering and designing their newer model. The W140 S Class ran from 92-99, it cost over 1 billion before the final product was released.
@iaincro92 Actually you don't. 100 degree F+ temperatures is dangerous heat. Trust me I live in Texas were it's over 100 almost everyday in the summer. Chances of heat exhaustion and heat stroke increase.
Such a solid, practical Mercedes. Too bad this tester doesn thave the optional xenon headlamps, they look so much more modern and less dated. A Command navigation interface would definetly make the interior look more contemporary too. Other than that, still a very handsome car.
I'm just learning the difference between a single overhead camshaft and a dual overhead camshaft. Wouldn't the engine, being a single overhead cam be an in-line 6? Can anyone clarify? Other than that, great video! A family member had the 2003 which was completely different, I like this one better! :)
noooo, you pulled up the cushin once, and didnt when folding down the rear seats, come on, it increases the capacity of the trunk massively, and makes a literally flat floor. maaan, take your time and edit it in, because it looks so good, and it is actually unique for the e class, because no other wagons offer a horizontal floor.
This is a great looking Merc. But when the first W210 came they become very rusty when they got old. I have seen very rusty Mercedes-Benz. All the edges was covered with rust.
@chris000089 That design was out since 1996 so it will look a bit aged, the regular sedan looks great. If you want to see old why not check out the Cadillac DTS, the most primitive I've seen available in 2011. At least this Benz was an advanced car for the time.
The only things this car are missing compare to the 2012 model is the look, 7 speed transmission, and the automatic trunk closer. Everything else is the same. If you own 1 of these, it will just run forever.
Jonas Bickford I have a 2002 E320 4Matic with 70,000 miles and it's a great vehicle. I have some normal maintenance that I have to take care of, but it's an extremely solid built, bulletproof tank. Just got a new battery. The one I replaced was from March of 2008. Even the batteries are built to last! The only thing I have to do is the catalytic converter and CV axle boot. I love it and I hope I can keep it for a long time.
Get the wagon . The cargo room is sick . And keeps the value of the vehicle more than the sedan . You can actually trow a matress in it and have a motel on wheels. Can sleep in it . Excellent wagons.
@derbigpr500 The E39 5-series was on market since 1996 and looks a lot more up-to-date. Hard to compare though, because BMW is sporty luxury saloon and MB is more of a refined traveller. Both produce amazing cars.
I like the 300 wagons from the 80's particularly with the ultra robust, yet thrifty 5 cylinder diesel. Those were built super heavy duty specs. In comparison, these are pretty, but fragile toys.
On the 1996-1998 there is a red and green light as well as a black knob on the bottom of the rear view mirror. Can anyone tell me what that black knob does?
No, not necessarily. Another possibility is a damaged control unit. Trust me, I know. Own a s210 270CDI and having to deal with this problem right now. NOT going to be cheap, unless I'll be able to find a used one.
@hovnojede010101 , you're not right a little bit. The W211 MB was introduced in January 2002 ( sedans). Touring's were introduced a bit later ( 4-5 months).

suvs are a plague
bro I got the same model on ksl today its my first car and I payed for all of it in cash im so proud of myself!
I sold mine after about 18 months. Sometimes I miss it though when I think about the 30+ miles per gallon around town. Also it was just a nice looking wagon when parked next to all the other look-a-likes in the Walmart parking lot.@@latenbargestin5918

13 year old , have more features than most cars i see nowadays
+AbyssalTentacle I own an E55 Wagon, W210, and I agree
I have a E300 W212, and yes i agree too. My E300 doesn't even have that AC independent mode for the front seats!
I have a 95 and i agree. lol true
What cars do you guys see nowdays
More feature than new Nissan Versa
I have one of these, but it's a 1999 and it has a burgundy exterior. Over 120,000 km's on it and it still runs like a charm. And boy is it fast! Gotta love the early V8's.

Just got one for 500$

Do u still have it?
These wagon mercedes are so BOSS
@LukeLamping - my aunt has one too with 300,000 miles on it, still starts like new. This is a very reliable car.
Oh my, this would be my exact dream car only without the pin striping and with tinted windows (it gets hot here in Texas).
I HAVE ONE OF THIS AND ITS AMAZING
I got one of these in the base model wagon 3 months ago. Still low miles. Love the Bose stereo and I float back and forth around town in it.

I was looking for a video for an AMG E55 W210 wagon and found this. Great job, as usual.
An '02 Mercedes-Benz, pure mega they'll go forever
109° Wow!
These are great solid cars !
Bose stereo why I still keep my E320.
Great video, gorgeous Mercedes Benz. Thank you
Wow this car is so advanced even for today's car...
As always you give the best car tour on TH-cam.

I'd love a E430 4matic. Great all around vehicle.
@xdivisionx
No it's not stupid, that's their signature monoblade of the 90's, it actually provides better visibility than having two wipers.
@cipmars Actually it was. If you've seen videos or pics of mid to late 80's Mercedes, you can see they kept the basic design but they added "modern touches" along the way.
very nice video, for anyone buying a car. GREAT JOB!!!!
One of my favorites.

Wagons are the way to go, Kyle find and review a Roadmaster wagon!
awesome vid loved the review
I Love Wagons
What a beauty!
Damn 109 degrees? It hasn't even reached 80 yet this summer here in Seattle. Anyway, I love those older Mercs and their commanding presence.
Nine years later I just bought a 2002 e320 4matic with 112000 miles sweet ride
I like wagon more than the sedan because of the 7 passenger.
being a younger person, i never fully understood the trunk-mounted CD changer found in many older (around 10 years old or more) vehicles. would that mean every time you had a new CD, you would have to open up the trunk into that compartment and load it in there?

great engine. I liked thw Stones song playing.
I miss my 99 E320 Wagon so much...😢
hey kyle, if its not too much to ask for, could you make a video showing how you wash and detail cars?
I can see the buick in the background any updates to it yet
great car
can you add this to your mercedes playlist
Btw, I have noticed that there is an SRS warning-lamp's lightning on a dashboard.... it's not good.
@datboiwes333 I've visited family in Houston, Texas in summer 2009 and the heat and humidity was insane. Some days pushed 100F before noon! A/C in cars and homes is a must there no matter what or it will be miserable.
4:13 109 degrees??!!! Where are you filming this?
Is it xenon projector headlights or halogen?
I liked the steering wheel wheel control better on the door. We have a C300 and it's on the wheel... kinda gets in the way.
@2Kriss2Kross It sure does, the dash looks like it was designed in the '80s.
@physchohead24, then you should to find a YT channel about RV's (mhrsv1 or something like that) . There are LOTS of RV's videos on this channel from Texas.
no heated seats?
My grandpa's ultra-practical car.
If you could get a video on a 2005+ Subaru Legacy, that'd be awesome! Thanks!
Awesome Car
nice wagon.
@2Kriss2Kross W211 was introduced as a 2003 , so that E320 one of last cars.
I would love it if you find a 1993 dodge intrepid ES ! thanks men i like your videos.

With this single wiper design there is a lot more coverage on the windshield compared to two wipers.

@isbemorph Yes, I am German, Every Taxi is a Mercedes in my town as it is shown in the video.
And most of the taxis are that funny light yellow?
