    I wouldn't run with that FC moto drain valve. It's helpful when you want to do multiple oil changes in quick intervals but something hitting (say a flying road debris) on a protruding part is very vulnerable. At worst you need a pan and some fix when on the road if it happens to damage the thread.

    • @TranslatedAssumption
      @TranslatedAssumption ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends, I run Xw30 or Xw40 depending on weather conditions. I would rather use an Xw40 grade especially when I'm running southern routes but if I were staying primarily in the north, especially in the winter, I would prefer to use an Xw30 grade.

    • @db-cd8hx
      @db-cd8hx ปีที่แล้ว

      yep volvo and macks left the factory with 10w30. you can run 15w40 but I am not

    • @alouisschafer7212
      @alouisschafer7212 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TranslatedAssumption id stay on Xw40 all the time and use a 0w40 in the cold because once your engine is hot the Xw30 is going to be thinner than a Xw40. The first digit defines cold flow ability of the oil and the last two digits behind the w define the viscosity at 100 degrees Celsius.
      So for a big heavy duty diesel that's pulling along a truck its Xw40 all the way for me.
      I run 0w40 all the time in car engines I think its a superior replacement for 0w30, 5w30 and 10w30. They are so smooth and quiet on 0w40.

      @@db-cd8hx if they are using an Xw30 grade lube it is to maximize fuel economy. I'm sure that the same standards apply and the truck world as they do in the automotive world, manufacturers expect certain things from the factory to maximize fuel economy on paper but it may not be best for long-term reliability.

    yeah f the only hand tight oil filters, i don't had problem with it for like 10 times i changed oil tbh. and i'm always unsure so i always went ham on it with my hands multiple times and even asked my giant handed father to double check it, but when it's December 31th, you bringing your friends to your house to have the party and suddenly loose oil pressure in the middle of the capital city barely able to coast in to a fuel station just because you were lucky it happened next to one to find out your filter is loose for some reason... fun times and more funny it was a Volvo 460 actually i know it's a Renault engine (1.9TDI) but still. Since then i tight them a lil bit more with a tool. on the drain plug removal my best method for it is pushing it upwards and when i feel it's unscrewed just being quick. you gonna get oil anyways but thats how i do it

    Probably should put those filters on by hand so you don't dent the filter. It is possible as I've done it multiple times. I tighten all my filters by hand unless is specifically needs more torque. They aren't going to leak. Also be careful as some manufacturers recommend against pre filling due to filter collapse. Also, dealers do not put in a drain plug early to save money lol. When I was a lube tech once the oil is barely flowing out we put the plug in. Will never ever hurt the engine if you consistently change your oil like a good boy lol. Love the video tho
