I did an espresso martini taste test at home after watching your coffee oleo video a couple of years ago, that was the house favorite -1 part espresso, 1 part cognac, orange bitters, 1/2 part coffee oleo.
@@DANFELLOWScoffeecocktails definitely worth a try. I use cognac also as the base for my sidecars, and add a little bit of ovenproof Jamaican rum for more depth along with peychaud’s bitters
Interesting lazarus 2 recipe. I rarely have pedro ximenez, i didnt know what to do with it when i bought a bottlw. I wonder what other things would work well... I could see amaro being nice instead of the pedro (Lazaro cocktail)
I'm a big fan of PX - if in doubt, it's also great over ice cream! I often pair it with rum, sometimes in place of sugar in lots of richer cocktails, the rum and raisin pairing obviously is a proven one! Amaro would be delicious in here too, I think, it may just need a little sugar to balance as PX is extremely sweet!
I have always done 1:5, since before 1:4 was cool 😂 although I’m always tempted to conform, I like 1:5 because 1g works really well in so, so many cocktails, whereas 1g of 1:4 can be a little too much. For simplicity’s sake, I like to just always start with a gram of 1:5 and adjust from there, but obviously these are small margins so both are going to work great, you just may need a tiny amount more or less.

That is amazing! I haven't used cognac enough in drinks in general - time to fix that!

Do you really make your saline 1:5 or do you make it 1:4, ie 20%?

Cool.
Cheers.
Though the thought of dividing 100% into six really rustles my jimmies! 😅
Happy new year!
Is 30ml of coffee from 18g not a very stiff ristretto?
Yup, very punchy
Book link for buy mm??
It looked lovely, but it had almost nothing to do with the original drink. Coffee, brandy and "stuff" - you should call it Carajillo and be done
