Gaddiel Robert Acquaah - Asomdwee Da (AH 389)

When I visited Ghana in 2016 I bought the music collection "Ghana Praise" by Asεmpa (Good News) Publishers. The book contains 140 tunes by composers of different backgrounds, such as Methodist, Presbyterian, Catholic, Anglican and evangelical Presbyterian churches. A great resource for me, and I am happy to share some compositions from this collection with you over time.
Here is my first recording of a song from this collection: Asomdwee Da by Gaddiel Robert Acquaah (1884-1954), a Methodist educator and scholar who contributed greatly to the translation of the Holy Bible into the Fante language. I could not find the complete words of this hymn (Asεmpa Hymnal no 389) but I hope you like the recording!
