  • After completing a complex repair to one corner of the 1989 Talbot Express Bonnet I continued around the rest of the piece, completing a simpler repair to the other front corner, then the middle of that structural box section and a slimmer span on the back. After welding in hand made pieces with my welder from E Fox Engineers Ltd I then spray painted it with epoxy primer from MicksGarage.com.

The thought of taking Rocky the Talbot to Germany in the future is what’s keeping my mind healthy at the moment Christoph.

Hi Thanks for great video, I'm in the process of doing the same on a Citroen C25 only trouble is it had a shunt on the front of the bonnet as well as the rust. I had lost the lines ( angles of the front) but I'm getting there. I used 1.2mm sheet metal I bought in a 8x4 sheet. It mig welds fine but I have to be so careful as it blows holes in the original metal - can you tell me do you use 0.6mm or 0.8mm wire? I'm using 0.8mm as having trouble getting a 0.6mm wire feed wheel for my Pacini pro200 mig welder. Thanks again Regards Tom (Kildare)

the holes youre replacting on the underside, are they actually required or were you just doing it to be pretty close to OEM

They lighten it and allow condensation out, so they prevent rust to some degree.

Will you be making a video on how to remove/repair the scuttle panel? I would really appreciate it, as I'm trying to remove mine.

I will indeed, I have a panel from www.coastalmotorhomes.co.uk to fit but I just need to get a couple more jobs done on my Charade first.

@@VantagePointVideoGarage Fingers crossed, then! I'll admit that I can't wait to see you doing it so as to get insprired to do mne. The bonnet hinges aren't available as other body panels, so they will be tricky for me to do. Tbh, I'm doing all of this for the first time, so your videos are really helpful.
