Every player suffered, fought and left everything on the pitch against Arsenal. THIS is what Amorim has been demanding and the players delivered. That is the foundations of Amorim's identity he is building at Manchester United and we've seen it big time in these games against Liverpool and Arsenal.❤

De Ligt's save off the line was probably the single play that epitomizes the fight the team is starting to show! Playing for the badge! His reaction was just awesome! They are starting to look like a real team with a purpose and identity, something that has been missing for a long time!

Could NOT agree more! The replay of him sliding into the net, already showing his mouth already giving away his excitement at having made SUCH an amazing clearance. Pumping his fists while he's still in the motion of getting tangled up in the net was just pure gold as a long time fan! To see the entire team play like that and then that one play just optimized the entire game for Utd and what Amorim has instilled in this team. It's FINALLY catching on and I think they can see how if they just TRY and try hard every single game, the results will start coming. It may not be pretty, it may not be what you want, but it's a win! You have to start believing you can win, then you can start playing exciting attacking insane football down the road.
I was laughing so hard and pumping my fists as well when they showed the replay again and seeing him pump his fists and be SO excited about a clearance was so awesome! Dalot has been doing that for a few years now and the rest of the team is finally catching on! SOOO great to see the grit, determination and warrior mentality from most of the team.
Even McGuire is actually playing pretty well as of late in this new system where has has cover to protect him. I don't see him staying more than this year or next, but gotta give him credit for continuing and finally playing much better (and for Amorim for knowing his strength's and weaknesses and putting him in situations to succeed. SUCH a smart manager. Something ETH could learn from to better himself for his next job).

I think the first few matches that we won under Amorim, the players were overexcited for the new manager and everyone tried to secure a place in the team, we then moved into another phase where we won matches by luck, then things now went bad and we lost our head and it now looked like a typical Manchester United culture in the last 10 years. But the last two games Liverpool, Away and Arsenal away it wasn't luck nor excitement but, I saw fight, players looked like they now realised this is Manchester United they are playing for. You know when players play for Madrid they play for the legacy and history of the club, we need the same at United. Amorim said we'are the heartbeat of English football. And we have to own that.

Thinking about yesterday's game, and I must say it wasn't a master class by no means. But the players showed real desire and fight, they run and fought for every ball. They made sure arsenal couldn't do what they wanted. And to do it for 50% of the game with ten men against 12 was something the players can be proud off. They have also now set a bare minimum of work ethic and it has to carry on to the next game.
But credit were it's due, slab head Maguire has taken a lot of stick and even lost the arm band. But he stayed and he fought he never cried or wanted to leave. How good has he been recently especially yesterday, one of the best performances I've seen from him in a long time.

Ugarte and Martinez are our new Keano! Martinez, Dalot, De ligt and Mazrouai are finally showing amazing character for more than 1 game in a row. The team is finally understanding what Amorim wants. What is THE most important part of all sports. The mentality you bring in and the intensity and "never say die" attitude.
This Utd is in no way shape or form as good technically as Arsenal. They're just not. But what they showed the last two games in a row is MASSIVE determination. A belief, that even if things go wrong, that they can fight and claw their way back and get a good result. And even if they don't get a win or draw, they will make it living hell for the other team to get that win or draw! And that is what Amorim has been trying to instill in them since he came in. This idea that you are NEVER out of it! To go out there, play like a Red Devil until the final whistle and show the fans and your teammates how proud you are to wear that badge on your jersey! They have been sorely missing that for 12+ years and the last two games show a team that hopefully, finally look like they "get it."
SUCH an amazing two games they have played. Not technically, not sexy, not great. But defensively they have shown how great they can be. And overall, they are starting to believe they can win, even if the sexy, flowing, fast football isn't there yet. I mean, the goal from Fernandes and the build up was fantastic! Absolutely top class playing and finishing. But it's this warrior mentality that is going to get them out of this funk they've been in for over 12 years now! They have to WANT to fight! Every single game they are going to have to fight. And the results will come. It's brick by brick they are going to build this house from. Amorim even said last week, he just wants to get back to the basics with this team. That is the level of training they need right now. Then, build on that and continue to build on that until one day you wake up and Utd is playing in the CL final! Or hoisting the EPL trophy again! It'll come.
And to be real honest, having Rashford gone from the team, the bench and the club is a HUGE help! That guy (along with Pogba, Martial and Lingaard) has been a HUGE part of the problem over the last 10 years. It's never been about his physical skills or talents. It's ALWAYS been his head. His sh*t mentality. His sh*t work rate. And his bad attitude in and around the team. Now that he's gone and Amorim is done with his shenanigan's, the rest of the team can finally move on and WORK! Finally try hard, show character and do what it takes every practice, every game all year to do well and win.
It's a LONG way to go, but these are SUCH important efforts they have given against Liverpool and Arsenal in the last few games. It shows they are starting to understand HOW HARD you have to work if you want to win in the EPL. The days of Utd just showing up for a match and dominating against pretty much anyone are LONG gone. 75% of the teams in the EPL can beat one of the top teams on any given weekend now! It's brutal! You have to not only have superior talent, but more importantly, you have to work harder and want it more than the other team now if you want to win. Arsenal showed WHY they can't win the league. They showed why even though they are SUPREMELY talented the last 2-3 years, they can't win tough games. It's so simple. It's because they aren't tough! They are a giant bunch of babies, whiners, cheaters, liars, divers, and all around POS humans that think they can cheat their way to a win. Every team that plays tough against Arsenal usually beats them. Because they have built this team around a bunch of fairies that have little to no fight in them (other than maybe Saliba and Gabriel). And Utd came out and showed them what real grit, determination and NEVER SAY DIE attitude can do for you.
The entire club, the players, the staff, coaches up until now have all acted like they deserve to be at the top, but without putting in the work. They rarely if ever have given it their all since Ferguson left. And Amorim is showing them HOW FAR they have fallen, yet how quickly they can start to build confidence, a warrior mentality and a relentless attitude of working hard in order to win. And it's showing finally.
Now, the real question is.... can they do it again and again, game after game and ESPECIALLY against the lesser opponents?! That is the big question that needs answered.

the key word Amorim has used from the start and now you also see players in interviews using it is "suffer". He said this to the fans and players, we must be okay with suffering to get the wins, to be able to play. Players were too comfortable and didnt want to "suffer" now they're are willing to suffer and are seeing the results. When you suffer together you bond together, you go through hell together and it makes you stronger and builds that trust. He was talking about to "suffer" short term to the fans in ways of results but i think this is obviously a key part of his philosophy on the pitch too in terms of going through the exhaustion/pain barrier to grow that cardio that is needed to play his system

Amorim deserves credit for instilling some serious belief and now the players are showing some accountability.
    Those players are now UNITED.

I’ve ate huge humble pie and since then have been behind even the most out of form player in the United squad. Zirkzee is quality, he’s still adjusting and I’ll tell you something, that boy is going to shut a lot of people up.

If you think this was a bad referee, with Amorim's previous team, Sporting, after Amorim left, we had a match where Sporting scored a goal, but the referee didn't count it because he instead said it was a penalty shot for Sporting. Then the VAR reviewed the play and decided it wasn't a penalty after all. So not only did Sporting not get the goal, but they didn't get the penalty either.

I wonder how many players he won over after benching Rashford. Not trying to knock Marcus in particular, I'm sure he's got his demons. But, we've all had coworkers who do the bare minimum, but management always lets them skate without a thought. I imagine at least a few of them were frustrated at least and a move like that brings a quiet relief and a sense of justice done that makes you trust your boss more, even a little.

I was more confident after seeing the team huddles prior to the penalties, arsenals players individually were trying to hype each other up. Our team, had their arms locked in a circle, and our manager was talking to them.
    Calm, cool and collected.
