Anyone else noticed that aside from pinning it to the floor and disabling it, the only weapons that actually made that fucking thing scream in pain - as opposed to actual missiles from Nora getting its attention - were Jaune's shield-edge blade and Ren's knife? The ones that were mementos of loved ones. I cannot WAIT to see if that's a thing with fighting Grimm. Striking at them with love in your heart as well as intent to destroy.
Crocea Mors was what made it scream even before he used the shield-blade, while Stormflower's blades didn't even make it flinch when Ren had them jammed into it's hands. Most of the actual damage was Melee-strikes against the body, or at least NOT the "Hands". Although the screams when they pinned the arms might have been rage instead of pain, hard to tell.
He said knife (talking about Ren, it belonged to his father). And Crocea Mors is kind of another weapon now. The whole metal was reforged and melted with Pyhrra´s shield and tiara. You can tell because in Vol 3 the sword was cracked and old.
She'll never stop. That weapon's an heirloom; for every Arc that wields it, forevermore, Pyrrha will be there with them. He made her part of his family, in the end.

The combined sword and scabbard/shield is such a good weapon, when I think about it. Jaune needed more power to his attacks, so why not combine the weight. The average arming sword only weighs so much, 2-5lbs. I'm going to say 5lbs, and combined with his scabbard, that would make his broadsword (which isn't a real sword classification, but I can't think of anything else here) about 15 pounds, and ideally you are supposed to put your body weight behind sword swings (without overbalancing yourself, but that's more a matter of footwork)... since Jaune is 17 years old, 6"1', and has a slim/moderate build... I'd guess he is 135-140lbs. Meaning that his broadsword swings pack a whopping 150-155 pounds of force.
The post credit scene is even funnier once you realize it the English brothers Elric from FMA - of course the CRWBY would pull something like that, why did I not think of that. just this time Al is the short one as Oscar, and Ed is the tall one in Qrow, he even calls his counterpart a pipsqueak. Ah the FMA nostalgia.
I think it really puts in perspective just how powerful Hunters are in Remnant. Four teenagers, who haven't even finished their training (And one of which seemingly doesn't even have a Semblance yet), took out a Grimm that wiped out god knows how many villages by itself.

Like take murderofbirds for example he was tearing up when nothing bad was happening which In my mind looked very childish I was like really your gonna tear up when everything is all happy and joyous come on man get a grip. Then u have this girl who seems to love the music wayyyyy to much to the point where she would sing the lyrics and she's always listening to the soundtrack that to me means she's obsessed.
I am so glad I can come here and see that people don't hate volume 4 the comment section there sucks I mean everybody there complains and I can't escape all the mocking from defending the series that kept me going on with my life today. About 2 weeks before Monty's death, my best friend overdosed and passed, and like you, stumbled across the Red trailer, and since then, RWBY has been an integral part of my outlook on life. When we are depressed and lost, we look for something, anything, that just feels good. Sometimes it's pain, or the comfort of loneliness, or substances that numb these things. (I used to find some comfort in seeing my friends be happy, with or without me. Sort of a mix of both things.) Sometimes though, it's something like this, a beautiful, powerful creation, art, that inspires a power and beauty within you once thought was gone. I understand why something like RWBY is so important to us, it's both crazy and comforting knowing that millions of others feel the same for their own reasons. We're all happy, me included this time, we're all happy together.
Thank you for sharing this reaction and for telling your discovery story. I discovered this show when volume 3 first came out and it was a magical thing for me as well. Living with a physical disability, I find myself going through long stretches of time where, due to circumstances beyond my control I have to live vicariously through the media I consume. Snow and severe weather for example, is an inconvenience to the able-bodied that leaves me all but imprisoned in my own home. RWBY is one of those rare gems of a show that lets me explore the world through the lens of other people's imaginations, lets me spend my dead time in a way that is fulfilling and meaningful, and gives me something around which to ground my perspective and emotions during those long periods of time when I'm physically and emotionally isolated. That's part of the reason why I enjoy watching your reactions, because the level of emotional honesty you bring to your analysis really resonates with me. The magic of this series is that it's more than the sum of it's parts. Monty's passion project is able to draw from real human emotions and paint a world with them that everyone who sees it finds heartwarming and fulfilling on some level. 4 full Volumes in and people are still falling in love with it. Here's hoping Volume 5 continues that same proud tradition. Thank you again for sharing your story, and know that you're not alone in believing it means a great deal to the people who watch it. Just watched this. The episode was very powerful, but watching your reactions amplified it by at least one order of magnitude. I had been waiting for a proper story arc for Ren since I first picked up this series, around volume 2, and the past few episodes have brought more depth to his character than I could possibly have imagined. We had his Semblance revealed, his pain shown, his story told, and his family avenged. Just as Arryn said, this is everything we could have hoped for. Thank you CRWBY for an epic volume Thank you Arryn for such heartwarming reactions Thank you Nora for slapping Ren when he really needed it Thank you Ren for having the courage to finally accept Nora's feelings (It's about time!) PS. Arryn, I know that there are many who would find it strange for a person to find so much life and comfort from fictional characters, but I can most definitely relate.
The Red Trailer, despite being a trailer, was a masterpiece in and of itself. The minimal color palette, the way the music and animation synced, the fast paced animation that still managed to be fluid, the choreography that Monty is so well known for... it all came together in a perfect short video that stood on its own, even if it hadn't been a trailer.
Well the battle is won but the war rages on. Now we move on, we are ready for the next step. I want to point out that the transition the characters had throughout this volume was the same Arryn had. From wounded emotions to opening up and enduring whatever the world throws at us. In the struggle we call life we all feel alone at one point; but no matter what we must look around us and see we have people supporting us. Whether is family of friends they are with us. What now? Ren is definitely my favorite character- Like, from the first volume I KNEW that Ren would be my favorite. Edit : also- Ren is like- so cool- since he can mask negative emotions with his semblance, and Grimms go after negative emotions, he has like, a huge advantage-

To think this episode was gonna have a happy ending....until that cliffhanger! Ah shit! Professor Lionheart alludes The Cowardly Lion where it appears he has betrayed Ozpin due to cowardice! Highlight for me is how Lie Ren went straight up savage against the Grimm! The song "Armed and Ready" is definitely a Yang song as as she has new arm and regained her confidence.
I think this'll be the first time I've commented on this channel. To be honest, this'll be the first time I've commented on anything in about two years. It's funny, I fell in love with RWBY, RVB, and Rooster Teeth as a whole very recently. I really didn't pay much mind to anything RT produced until Monty's passing. When I saw social media sites everywhere expressing their sorrow and mourning for him did I realize who he was as a creator. Definitely one of the best with an overflowing amount of creativity, emotion, skill, and experience. Always learning. Always moving forward. And making every second of his life count. All 4 volumes of RWBY resonated with me differently. This one stood out to me however. I'm still sure what it is exactly, but I'm sure I'll discover it one day. And out of all of the "reactors" that I watch, (and trust me, I watch A LOT of them) yours resonates with me on a relatable level. Perhaps not the same in terms of emotion, but the impact that this fantastical world has on me is not lost. You're, without a doubt, one of my favorite reactors to watch; right next to good, old MurderofBirds. The commentary you have as well as your insight and references to other forms of art, as an artist yourself, make your videos all the more entertaining and intriguing to watch. To sum this up, because I've dragged this out WAY too long, I very much so enjoy your content and look forward to seeing your reactions for RWBY volume 5 and RVB.

This volume has been stellar, and watching your reactions has been amazing. I'm so glad I stumbled on your channel. RWBY was something that I got really attached to without entirely realizing it, and seeing you be so open about your feelings for it has made me feel a lot better about geeking out or getting emotional over it. This is seriously the only show that's given me so many feels. Pyrrha is the only character death in anything that's made me feel so sad, and Cold is the only song that can always make me cry a little bit, and I have a feeling I'll be singing Armed and Ready any time I feel down for the next year. I'm so glad to have had you with me for volume 4, and I'm more excited for volume 5 than I've been for anything in ages.

I feel the same exact way as you do about the red trailer and the rest. When I watched those trailers, I got that click. At that moment, I knew I had to do something. I knew that I had to create a whole new world myself. I got into art, writing, and 3D modeling/animation because of that. Its been almost 3 years now with me drawing full time ever since march of 2 years ago. I am now a freshman in college enrolled in a computer science degree to study 3D animation and coding so I can improve and keep moving forward. This march I will celebrate my 3 years by redoing my first digital drawing, Yang. RWBY changed my life and when I heard of Monty Oum's passing, I just felt dark inside but I remembered that I needed to move forward. So every anniversary I always try to do something special in some way. Now I am proud to say that I am finally seeing the light of my dreams. You know I was thinking about it and I figured out why this grimm is so much creepier than the rest to me, it is the same reason the fight feels so much more personal. This is not team RNJR against a powerful grimm, it is team RNJR against a serial killer who happens to be a creepy grimm as well. This is the first grimm we see with a lair, the first one we have seen kill on screen and get away. We see all the discarded weapons that a Ooblic could most likely use to figure out the age of this grimm, this is Hannibal grimm and we are witnessing the law of the land carry out a field execution of it.

Also, can we all take just a minute to appreciate just how far Jaune Arc has come in this show!? From failing at landing strategies and barely being able to stand up to the most basic grim, to holding his ground against the Demon of Kuroyuri! He hasn't quite figured out the agility and parkour skills just yet, but I'm hopeful that it will come along someday.
This episode made the entire volume for me. This finale moved me in a way I wasn't expecting it to. It was was beautiful and personal and resonant. I hope CRWBY takes the time to rest and recover before diving in again. They have done an amazing job and they deserve all their rest. You summed up this episode so well and it was something I felt but could not put into words but you definitely are right this episode is the epitome of Hope, and was everything I wanted, even some that I didn't know I wanted or needed like Ruby's letter saying that they are fighting for those they haven't lost resonated within me and so has this series as a whole. I am amazed at how powerful art can be and that is for sure what this series is, art that is so powerful that it ignites feelings that I normally don't show and that is so special. As a member of team SPTM (Spectrum aka The Fanbase), I think we should have a session at RTX for just people to get together and hug it out for a while. Secondly, it was really great to see MurderofBirds/Arnold's Fans He met at RTX 2016 video. I counted at lest 6 or seven different RWBY TH-cam reactors/theorists, yourself included Arryn (Cosplaying as Pyhrra). Thirdly, If Roosterteeth makes their audiences go on another emotional rollercoaster again, the least that they could do is give away RWBY blankets or pillows/cushions to help us cope. Fourthly, We now need a more definitive backstory for Nora as we now know how her and Ren ended together and together together but not how she ended up in Kuroyuri. We also need a talented bike maker or props company to build a real life Bumblebee (Yang's bike) as well as a back story as to how and when Yang acquired it. Lastly, yes anger is an emotion that burns brighter than any other emotion but as we found out through Yang, it burns very quickly (like magnesium or caesium) but once you burn through anger, you end up exhausted and more often than not either tearfully upset or confused as to why you were angry in the first place which is why I predict a Cinder vs Ruby & Jaune fight with Emerald helping Ruby and Juane. The reason she helps Ruby and Jaune is that she sees her friend/lover (giant guess there) is only going to end up self destructing and giving Salem more power and also that the way that Salem views power is a very skewed and venomous view that only ends in desctruction, this could also be the advent of a Cinder redemption arc.
This killed me when I thought of it: Qrow grabbed Jaune's hand and had a flashback of "Tai, protect Summer".

Sometimes though, it's something like this, a beautiful, powerful creation, art, that inspires a power and beauty within you once thought was gone.
I understand why something like RWBY is so important to us, it's both crazy and comforting knowing that millions of others feel the same for their own reasons. We're all happy, me included this time, we're all happy together.

Thank you for sharing this reaction and for telling your discovery story. I discovered this show when volume 3 first came out and it was a magical thing for me as well. Living with a physical disability, I find myself going through long stretches of time where, due to circumstances beyond my control I have to live vicariously through the media I consume. Snow and severe weather for example, is an inconvenience to the able-bodied that leaves me all but imprisoned in my own home. RWBY is one of those rare gems of a show that lets me explore the world through the lens of other people's imaginations, lets me spend my dead time in a way that is fulfilling and meaningful, and gives me something around which to ground my perspective and emotions during those long periods of time when I'm physically and emotionally isolated. That's part of the reason why I enjoy watching your reactions, because the level of emotional honesty you bring to your analysis really resonates with me. The magic of this series is that it's more than the sum of it's parts. Monty's passion project is able to draw from real human emotions and paint a world with them that everyone who sees it finds heartwarming and fulfilling on some level. 4 full Volumes in and people are still falling in love with it. Here's hoping Volume 5 continues that same proud tradition. Thank you again for sharing your story, and know that you're not alone in believing it means a great deal to the people who watch it. Just watched this. The episode was very powerful, but watching your reactions amplified it by at least one order of magnitude. I had been waiting for a proper story arc for Ren since I first picked up this series, around volume 2, and the past few episodes have brought more depth to his character than I could possibly have imagined. We had his Semblance revealed, his pain shown, his story told, and his family avenged. Just as Arryn
said, this is everything we could have hoped for.

Arryn, I know that there are many who would find it strange for a person to find so much life and comfort from fictional characters, but I can most definitely relate.
The Red Trailer, despite being a trailer, was a masterpiece in and of itself. The minimal color palette, the way the music and animation synced, the fast paced animation that still managed to be fluid, the choreography that Monty is so well known for... it all came together in a perfect short video that stood on its own, even if it hadn't been a trailer.
Well the battle is won but the war rages on. Now we move on, we are ready for the next step. I want to point out that the transition the characters had throughout this volume was the same Arryn had. From wounded emotions to opening up and enduring whatever the world throws at us. In the struggle we call life we all feel alone at one point; but no matter what we must look around us and see we have people supporting us. Whether is family of friends they are with us. What now? Well we do what we know best: Gear up, stand ready and keep moving foward. Seeya around guys. I know each and everyone of you will accomplish something great, I belive in you and I'll root for you. Have a good life.

To think this episode was gonna have a happy ending....until that cliffhanger! Ah shit! Professor Lionheart alludes The Cowardly Lion where it appears he has betrayed Ozpin due to cowardice! Highlight for me is how Lie Ren went straight up savage against the Grimm! The song "Armed and Ready" is definitely a Yang song as as she has new arm and regained her confidence.

I think this'll be the first time I've commented on this channel. To be honest, this'll be the first time I've commented on anything in about two years. It's funny, I fell in love with RWBY, RVB, and Rooster Teeth as a whole very recently. I really didn't pay much mind to anything RT produced until Monty's passing. When I saw social media sites everywhere expressing their sorrow and mourning for him did I realize who he was as a creator. Definitely one of the best with an overflowing amount of creativity, emotion, skill, and experience. Always learning. Always moving forward. And making every second of his life count. All 4 volumes of RWBY resonated with me differently. This one stood out to me however. I'm still sure what it is exactly, but I'm sure I'll discover it one day. And out of all of the "reactors" that I watch, (and trust me, I watch A LOT of them) yours resonates with me on a relatable level. Perhaps not the same in terms of emotion, but the impact that this fantastical world has on me is not lost. You're, without a doubt, one of my favorite reactors to watch; right next to good, old MurderofBirds. The commentary you have as well as your insight and references to other forms of art, as an artist yourself, make your videos all the more entertaining and intriguing to watch.
To sum this up, because I've dragged this out WAY too long, I very much so enjoy your content and look forward to seeing your reactions for RWBY volume 5 and RVB.

This volume has been stellar, and watching your reactions has been amazing. I'm so glad I stumbled on your channel. RWBY was something that I got really attached to without entirely realizing it, and seeing you be so open about your feelings for it has made me feel a lot better about geeking out or getting emotional over it. This is seriously the only show that's given me so many feels. Pyrrha is the only character death in anything that's made me feel so sad, and Cold is the only song that can always make me cry a little bit, and I have a feeling I'll be singing Armed and Ready any time I feel down for the next year. I'm so glad to have had you with me for volume 4, and I'm more excited for volume 5 than I've been for anything in ages.

I feel the same exact way as you do about the red trailer and the rest. When I watched those trailers, I got that click. At that moment, I knew I had to do something. I knew that I had to create a whole new world myself. I got into art, writing, and 3D modeling/animation because of that. Its been almost 3 years now with me drawing full time ever since march of 2 years ago. I am now a freshman in college enrolled in a computer science degree to study 3D animation and coding so I can improve and keep moving forward. This march I will celebrate my 3 years by redoing my first digital drawing, Yang.
RWBY changed my life and when I heard of Monty Oum's passing, I just felt dark inside but I remembered that I needed to move forward. So every anniversary I always try to do something special in some way. Now I am proud to say that I am finally seeing the light of my dreams. You know I was thinking about it and I figured out why this grimm is so much creepier than the rest to me, it is the same reason the fight feels so much more personal. This is not team RNJR against a powerful grimm, it is team RNJR against a serial killer who happens to be a creepy grimm as well. This is the first grimm we see with a lair, the first one we have seen kill on screen and get away. You summed up this episode so well and it was something I felt but could not put into words but you definitely are right this episode is the epitome of Hope, and was everything I wanted, even some that I didn't know I wanted or needed like Ruby's letter saying that they are fighting for those they haven't lost resonated within me and so has this series as a whole. I am amazed at how powerful art can be and that is for sure what this series is, art that is so powerful that it ignites feelings that I normally don't show and that is so special. I also love your reactions because you share how the series has impacted you and how powerful this work of art is to you, and that makes these videos so much more meaningful than any others because it reiterates how powerful art is and provokes thought on my part and one thing I love is having something that makes me use my mind to think and ponder and the series and your reactions as well both do such an amazing job at it and I am happy about that.

Arryn, you a literally the only Let's Watch channel I follow because you are so genuinely passionate about this series and I adore you for that.
As a member of team SPTM (Spectrum aka The Fanbase), I think we should have a session at RTX for just people to get together and hug it out for a while.
Secondly, it was really great to see MurderofBirds/Arnold's Fans He met at RTX 2016 video. I counted at lest 6 or seven different RWBY TH-cam reactors/theorists, yourself included Arryn (Cosplaying as Pyhrra).
Thirdly, If Roosterteeth makes their audiences go on another emotional rollercoaster again, the least that they could do is give away RWBY blankets or pillows/cushions to help us cope.
Fourthly, We now need a more definitive backstory for Nora as we now know how her and Ren ended together and together together but not how she ended up in Kuroyuri. We also need a talented bike maker or props company to build a real life Bumblebee (Yang's bike) as well as a back story as to how and when Yang acquired it.
Lastly, yes anger is an emotion that burns brighter than any other emotion but as we found out through Yang, it burns very quickly (like magnesium or caesium) but once you burn through anger, you end up exhausted and more often than not either tearfully upset or confused as to why you were angry in the first place which is why I predict a Cinder vs Ruby & Jaune fight with Emerald helping Ruby and Juane. The reason she helps Ruby and Jaune is that she sees her friend/lover (giant guess there) is only going to end up self destructing and giving Salem more power and also that the way that Salem views power is a very skewed and venomous view that only ends in desctruction, this could also be the advent of a Cinder redemption arc.
