I did not hear the original, but the performances *and* the audio are wonderful in this version. My wife and I sang with the Gächinger Kantorei in 1981-1982 and also at the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart and Oregon Bach Festival. I'm now involved with the Arizona Bach Festival and just shared this performance with our fans.
