One thing I love about Kevin Crawford’s games is that they have a free version of each game. And that free version is a complete game. Very consumer friendly.
I have used both the free version and bought the paid version to expand my game greatly. It is genuinely a great purchase. When I get a chance, I want to dive into Worlds Without Number too!
He is amazing, I messaged him on kickstarter because I, somehow, lost access to my digital copy of the atlas of the latter earth, he replied 2 MINUTES, later and gave me a discount code for a free copy on DriveThruRPG
Great video, dude! I ran a Stars Without Number campaign a couple years ago and it was so much fun. Had some crazy adventures. I think my only real complaint with the book is I found the layout during play really confusing to find stuff. I badly want a re-revised edition with a better layout. Also I think your editing is great for this content, I am taking many notes. Edit: Just got to the conclusion section and see you agree with me! :D
Stars Without Number and Worlds Without Number are some of my favorite and most used prep tools and just great in general. The faction system took a bit to figure out, but it works great in my Mothership game
Nice! Another great video! I needed This Without Knowing (heh, I'm sorry). I've come across the Crawford series but I didn't know they were such a good resource for worldbuilding.
Hey there! Just got here and wanted to check out your vids. They're great quality, and I really like what you have to say. Edit: You got yourself a new sub!
I am glad you mentioned that. I looked over the document I made and it did not have it! I editted it and now should have the cheatsheets as asked. Check the description box for the google doc link.
The tools can be used in solo play. There are no rules specific for solo play but if the faction, beast, and npc tables help interactions for sure. I would recommend splicing it with another system though for sure!
I absolutely agree with the comment about the HUGE blocks of text. I was so excited picking this book up, but I haven't read through it all yet because it feels like far too much writing for the amount of information in it. IMO There's also too much emphasis on the existing lore throughout for a game that actively encourages players to toss it away and run their own setting.

@@Blerdy_Disposition Worlds Without Number is very cool. I think it can be a little overly complex, but it’s a fun game.
Will definitely give it a check out!

No problem! I am glad you watched all the way through. The layout genuinely needa an improvement definitely though.
Yeah it's weird, you end up out of order constantly with the generation

Glad I could help! They have been super helpful. I hope when i run cyberpunk games they prove super helpful too
Just found this channel. I'm a huge fan of KC's games. Loved the breakdown of SWN.

Stars Without Number was a damn great time running. I plan to run it more in the future or his other games in the future for sure.
This is the best sci-fi rpg bar none. Its an open sandbox system where you don't have to rely on an IP to carry you.

I appreciate you stopping by! I am glad you enjoyed the video! I hope you get around to playing Stars Without Number sometime!
Yeah, the world building tools in Crawfords games are excellent
Crawford has a lot of useful tools so I am glad there are others enjoying it as well!
Great video! I just wish you included the link for the space combat/travel cheat sheet.

Thanks for the video 🙂I've heard a lot of good stuff about the "Without Number" games, what I'm wondering is how easy it is to play them solo?
Very much so. The GM tools feed directly into being able to create an adventure as you go. Not explicitly meant for solo, but very easily adaptable.

@@ingenparks Good to know, thanks!
@@Blerdy_Disposition Noted, thanks!
Those are the best kind of tools if you ask me.

Agreed, I don't exactly care for the lore of the game either. I just ignore it.
