Three seminal events occurred leading to the conflict: 1) The Roman Emperor Hadrian resolved to stamp the Jews and their religion out of existence. He sold all Jewish prisoners into slavery, forbade the teaching of the Torah. He renamed the province Syria-Palaestina, and changed Jerusalem’s name to Aelia Capitolina. Synagogues were replaced with Roman temples and Jews were persecuted and driven off the land. 2) Arab Muslims conquered the land that is Israel in the 7th century during the Islamic Rashidun caliphate Umar  (634-644). After the Rashidun caliphate Jews and Christians were ruled by Arab Muslims until the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire (1517-1917). 3) The Jewish people claimed statehood in 1948 and defended themselves against the Palestinian militia and surrounding Arab countries armies reclaiming their ancestral homeland after 1,400 years.

We did not have tickets to the Games but we were near the Olympia Park. When the terrorist attacked occurred, it was horrible. I will never ever forget watching all the news reports with the pictures of the burnt out helicopters 🥺🥺💔😥🙏Sadly the Germans were completely unprepared as they did not expect and attack. The only sympathetic point one can raise in favour of Israel/Israelis is that this happened 5 years after the beginning of military occupation in WEst Bank and Gaza, and that who knew if was willing to end it if it just desired better security. Now, you can tell (and perhaps since day one after the Military Order Number 1, ordering the confiscation of lands in WB) Israel neither wants to two states (because it wants all the land), nor it wants a one state for all (because it’s obsessed with having an ethno-majority state). Of course there’s a Palestinian perspective. They don’t accept living under martial laws! And they will not let Israelis enjoy the fruits of their aggression.
