How to remove the front end on Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer (UDR) - front differential removal

This video details how to remove the complete front end on the Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer (UDR)
This quite a daunting task at first glance and the Traxxas manuals do not help but hopefully with the help of this video you will find this an easy task
You will have to remove the front end to service the front differential which we will cover in the next video and to access the steering assembly and servo saver spring

my udr suddenly came to a halt running flat out on 6s after stripping truck down i found the motor had seized completely ,this sudden stop (i am assuming) caused the front spur gear to loose two teeth, so i found this tutorial much help , now fully repaired except the motor which is on order,do you know if the old motor is serviceable the bearing is fine but it is just locked solid ? thanks again for the advice on the channel very helpful indeed. ps your advice on how to stop my pinion coming loose worked because it took me ages to get it off haha .

If the motor has locked solid then i would think the rotor has exploded in that case you need a new rotor or some debris has got in the motor. More likely to the second one. I have done a video on rebuilding a brushless motor

Service your shock since its apart too. And what motor do you recommend for an upgrade? If its if necessary to do so. Thoughts??

Service shock quite regularly anyway!! But yes good point to do them! We run the standard motor although we will have a video shortly of a different motor in one of our UDRS and will do a back to back comparison with the standard
