Virtuosissime.
Witold Lutoslawski is one of the most important composer. His compositions are perfectly, from all points of view. Magnificent orchestral, texture, harmony, rhythm e patterns. His style is unique.
I LOVE this symphony so so much. His best early work imo

Nogal mooi mm. Dan was daar die een waarin ek gespeel het waar die tydsoortteken die heeltyd verander en ek het my plek geheel en al in die uitvoering verloor en heeltemal opgehou speel. Dalk was ek op derde of kontra. Ek wonder nou of ek ooit 'n rehearsal bygewoon het en of ek nie net op die laaste nippertjie gebel is nie. Paul het vir my getune no worries dis nou net niks nie - simpel stuk musiek. Maar nou dink ek ou Lutoslawski ook het maar sy plek onder die son. Slim gecraft.

Or was that an error by the sound engineers?
His best symphony imo but the recording with Stokowski is more lively.

Brash, boisterous, bracing, a fine bit of fluff to hear once, but it wouldn't wear well with me. I wouldn't have guessed Lutoslawski, but then I'm not all that familiar with his music.
