Hello Sidney, well done. This is a good summary of the most important paddling techniques. A few friends of mine want to go paddling with me. Since they have no experience, I will shoot this video of yours. Greetings from Germany.
This is the single best quick concise guide to whitewater basics i have found in watching hundreds of videos. No blaring overwhelming music and great videography well done. I have subscribed and I'll be looking for more as i'm more of an intermediate and hopefully you've got some more lessons for me in some of your other videos.
I love your backcountry trips but I also love these waterways that are close to, or right in the city. You really enter another world that's beautiful and hidden among the urban development, close to where most Canadians live. It even seems like there could be decent fishing in this creek.
Alex is such a gentleman, so supportive and a great instructor!! Love it! And Sydney certainly was super cool and calm with all the instructions. I had the same thing situation (husband teaching me the wife) and I was not a very good or patient student lol. I hope we see her in more videos and trips!
Nice job you two! I was waiting the entire video to hear the "it doesn't get any better than this" - next video. We want more Sydney - great attitude for paddling!
A great episode. I learned from the instruction part, now it would be nice to know how to read the river. We know how to cross draw, but not why at that point you are doing a cross draw.
grew up paddling Brontie Creek, you should also try 16 Mile Creek. Put in just above the Oakville Milton boarder. Its a great paddle down to the lake. Its another great local trip with a few nice spots to stop for lunch
Big round of applause Sydney! I am a great spectator from shore holding a delicious lunchbox or camp cook. Beautiful ride down river, cool bridges. Great communication between you two, that makes a happening together so meaningful. Best regards to you both in your future.
A little late to comment -- you could also try the Credit in Mississauga - quick lap is Streetsville memorial park down to erindale park. Longer run down to Lake Ontario. Can start farther upstream as well - Derry Road to Lake Ontario is a nice relaxing day trip. More water, so rapids tend to be a little less boney. Only one place that requires a L/O or Portage - the low head dam at the south end of streetsville. Quite a few paddlers use the river as well.
Hello, my new friend. Wow, that's a beautiful, proud 💖💝💕 video of your girlfriend canoeing. It's an honor to be your great channel friend 💘❤💛 Have a happy 💘💝💕🌹 day 👍👍👍🤙👌
Great for you young folk ,many years ago in my homemade cedarstripper I took on the Athabaska river south of Jasper. Wildest ride I ever did 😃 Get busy living or get busy dying. 🇨🇦 71+ Manitoba expat these days I meander in my kayak
I'm so envious of how accessible these rivers are for y'all!! Down here in North Carolina we definitely have rivers but nothing quite like what you seem to have up there! Always stoked to see a new video pop up from this channel.
Haven't even watched this yet but I have to say....it's fun clicking on a video and not knowing who's going to be starring in it! Always great content so the added surprise factor is a bonus. 😁
Hi. The video is very interesting, I am also on a journey to live in the forest, camping, hunting, cooking. hope to bring everyone moments of relaxation and entertainment. thank all
Yeah the water levels were a little low for us to be running it. I believe they were slightly higher before. We went at 2.78 m3/s. Higher than that would be better. wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/real_time_e.html?stn=02HB011
I think those fish you saw were stealhead. Very cool!

Good teacher - good student - good weather - good times! Thanks to both of you for sharing this fun outing with us. 🛶👍

Way to go Sydney! I've never done whitewater in a canoe before, but you made it look fun, and manageable. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
You are such a great instructor, your positive encouraging style is infectious! Cool stuff🌲🛶🔥
Great job Sidney! You learn quick. 🙂👍
Excellent instructor, good concise communication!
That looked like fun. You are a great teacher. Your girlfriend did awesome. She learned quickly.

It really is amazing how "remote" you can feel so close to the city

She's "working a look." Lol. Nice video, very educational. Nice fish!
I like the informative part of this video, can be a must for the chanel if your ready to make vlogs like gear prep, food prep, etc
Nice that you showed her, hopefully you can do more adventures together on your channel.
Wonderful day out! Great job Sydney, keep up the good work! Thanks for sharing your paddling lesson day! :) :)

Sidney was awesome! I would not have been so cool or quick to learn. She should be very proud of herself. Fun date!

Nice little run , thanks for the share
gonna go try it myself
cheers
Awesome man...looks like you have life all figured out!
That's like teaching your girlfriend back in the days how to drive stick, good way to break up lol.
Can you guys do more of these how to videos ? How to paddle series
We are definitely planning to do this! Stay tuned
Just what I needed to see during lockdown, thanks for the escape 😊
Well done, a canoeing partner in the making... cheers
This was a very fun and instructive video!
Alex, she can only getter from here on out! Good job.
She’s a lady for sure. Good job guys thanks.🇨🇦👍
She is a keeper. Good job
Looks like a fun day on the water you two! Thumbs up from fellow creators!
If everyone did something that got their heart racing once a week... I dunno. I’m guessing people would be a lot happier. Great video.
Great job Sidney! 📽❤
She made that look soo easy!!
Looks like a fun river to paddle close to home. What do the water levels need to be like to navigate it? Not much spring run off this year

Practically passing thru my backyard!
These guys are so laid back I can't imagine having better teachers.
Don't you need to teach her how to portage through Alders ??
dream team..nice job you two..👍
Hope you made her a sammich Alex. Great video
You're brave taking your girlfriend on canoe. Everyone knows that canoes are a relationship graveyard.😉
Confused a little, couldn't you say ,left draw or right draw?
His terminology and instruction was correct. You draw on the side you're paddling on, and cross-draw on the opposite side.
What an experience! You and Noah are such naturally great teachers.
Hey Alex: She's a keeper.
I think you have her hooked
Nice, maybe a new multiday trip partner ?
Who’s this ?? I’m confused
If you guys ever start a paddling school, you can sign me up, just sayin. Cheers!
Superb!T!! :)
Fun!
You're so lucky having a GF that wears the same size clothes as you. Do you often wear her stuff? 🤣
A three hour tour....
Would have been nice to have something hot . Next time.👍🇨🇦
want a gentleman!
