Correction: For some bizarre reason, I omitted distributing the $120 cost of Global Entry/TSA Precheck over 4yrs. It's really $30/yr in credits. Thanks for keeping me honest @Lancun. I've made dozens of videos referencing Global Entry and I've never made that mistake before. I need someone to proof my scripts for free 😂 For a limited time, my Quicksilver referral link is offering a $250 signup bonus which is an additional $50 above the public offer: cards.bumacompany.com/quick-silver As always, I appreciate your support of the channel! Thank you for this. I've been planning for the Savor Rewards. I already have the Venture X. I'm a traveler and I'd like to simplify things by using the Savor, Venture X and the Hilton Aspire.
@@joanpayne1529 Unless you're hardcore into the game, it makes sense to simplify your setup. What you've outlined makes sense. Consider adding a Marriott card to your setup as well.
The Venture X is an amazing card. Personally, it's the only card I would even think about taking that 3 hard pulls for. Great breakdown of Cap One cards.
@@dailydoseofimari6234 I'm glad you liked it. Capital One provides some great card options. I always tell folks to think in terms of systems and not just cards.
For your international travel you could use your C1. It used the Visa network. C1 is buying discover. Discover has its own network.. after the companies merge your capital one has the potential to switch to this network to save what they are sharing with Visa. What's your expierance having a discover card network card accepted in your world travels. Im thinking it must be less than visa. Have you ever thought "im in Africa i wished i had a discover card?"
hahaha, I can honestly say that I have never thought of owning a Discover card. It's just not compelling to me. I went through a period about 4 months ago where I kept receiving Discover credit card offers in the mail. Unfortunately, Discover is not on my radar as I'm 100% travel focus with real travel partners. I'm always open to cards whenever there is travel value within a setup or a valuable SUB. However, Discover aint 'IT" :)
@RSquared-travel-rewards that's my point. The vx may be a few years from becoming part of its credit card services network instead of visa. They are buying the discover cards services network not just the cards. Lol. It's the beginning of 2025 and people are making "my predictions" videos. So in ? 2028? Remember this weird post when the VX leaves Visa.
It's important to note that the Precheck/Global Entry credit is not yearly. It's every 4/5 years. So definitely divide that value because it's not $100 per year.
I've made dozens of videos distributing global entry over 4 yrs. So bizarre that I made such a rookie mistake. I'll pin a comment shortly with the correction.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards No, such card exists. It was originally introduced in 2017 without AF, 3% for dining and 2% for groceries, in 2019 the card was revamped and AF was added, and categories for dining were increased to 4%, entertainment was added at 4% as well. In 2021 groceries were increased to 3%, and streaming was added. Previous cardholders were grandfathered to no AF card with 4/3% structure.
I have the Quicksilver. I wonder if I need to cancel it or at least upgrade it to Savor to build the Capital One Duo. I am worried that I will not be approved for Savor and Venture X because of having Quicksilver already
@@VF7RM Having the Quicksilver in no means invalidates you from getting the VX and Savor One. If you're worried about Chase 5/24 then I recommend that you first apply for the VX then product change the Quicksilver to a Savor One. If you're not concerned about 5/24 then go for both sign up bonuses and apply for both outright.
So you mentioned the Venture One but beyond transfer partners I’m not clear on what the benefits of this card are. Would you be open to explaining why someone would want this card? I’m also a little confused why you say the VentureOne and Venture X are worthwhile but not the Venture.
If you want a way to convert your Quicksilver and/or Savor cash into capital one miles and transfer them to travel partners, you can do that by owning the Venture One which is a FREE travel card and it also has a 1.25x multiplier. If you're able to travel once or twice a year, the Venture X is worth it at $395 because you get it back in credits. However, I understand that not everyone wants to front the $395. For those gun shy about the $395 the free Venture One is a no brainer in my estimation. I wouldn't pay $95 for the standard Venture over the Venture One just to get 2x. So my picks are the Venture One and the Venture X.
@ Thanks that makes sense! Guess I’ll wait until I can qualify for the Venture X since I tend to take one trip a year to see my brother and every other year a trip overseas with family but am looking to travel more. Got the QuickSilver and Savor per your video recommendations in meantime so looking forwards to seeing it all come together :)
Thanks for this video. On 15:11, you mentioned the Savor is a good points earner, and can convert cashback to miles to Venture One. Silly question, but would I need to apply for the Venture One?
Questions are never silly. Yes you'd need to pick up any of the venture cards to unlock converting the Savor cash back to capital one miles to transfer out to partners.
@@RSquared-travel-rewards Hey thank you for the reply. I applied for the Savor, and was not approved . They're always sending me a pre approved offer in the mail for the Quicksilver Rewards for Excellent credit. I have two other credit cards, one from BofA for Costco gas, a Citi Master Card for dining, shopping, and also a Capital One Platinum that Ive had for more than 10 years as a starter. I would love to use the Savor for everyday expense, and set the Citi Master Card aside as backup. I always pay on time, and have a score of 800. What would you recommend to for me to do next? Apply for the Quicksilver Rewards, and work my way up, or re apply for the Savor? Thanks

The Venture X is indeed a very solid pickup. I recommend it all the time to family members interested in travel. 1 trip a year makes it worth it.

There is also grandafathered version of Savor with no AF and the same multipliers as on $95 AF Savor.
