It was a truly amazing tour. I haven't been back to NY since I moved in 2004. I look forward to taking this tour. It will be a sad one, but needs to be taken.
This is truely awesome, what an amazing view! That new building you can see in Midtown, that tall, skinny building to the east of the Empire State Building is huge, technically that building is the tallest building in the USA from street height to rooftop (the One WTC is the tallest if you count the huge antenna atop of the building). I always wanted to go visit the Twin Towers as a child, I never got to see them. I will have to get down and check out the One WTC when I get a chance!
Congratulation to the organizers of this magnificent vistas of NY and great use of technical systems. I remember watching the sunset from the roof of the original tower. I have to do it again. Just added to my bucket list.
It angers me that they didnt REBUILD THE ORIGINALS, if you wanted to rub it in saying "we rebuilt it" why wouldnt you build the originals again, they were cooler, and more iconic.
3:41 "Unfortunately there is no outdoor space at the observatory. Checketts said that the building's design wouldn't allow for it." So they couldn't allow people on the outside. .
1. There is no access to the actual roof. It's only indoor. 2. The 9/11 memorials are actually the literal exact locations of the original 1 WTC and 2 WTC
@@exoticcar5482 I agree, the twins should have been rebuilt just for the "heck of it" ; plus, with keeping the outside appearance, i am sure engineering methods of today could have been applied to make them stronger towers and correct some other engineering issues. One more thing: the twins were known all over the world and were of a wonderful design. I miss them, too bad they did decide to build an other tower instead.
@@W-733_KWX Right. The reason there is no roof access is due to the transmitter on the roof. With the twin towers the transmitter was on one of the towers allowing the other tower to have outdoor roof access.

I don’t see how anybody can look over NY from that position and height and not be constantly reminded of people jumping to their deaths. I’d have no desire whatsoever to visit the observation deck because I know I’d just feel a) very sad, and b) a little scared.
Having images burned in my mind of one woman standing in a gaping wound, another close laying on her stomach, to survive so high up to that point & to have the floor drop from under her feet, I couldn't do it. To have the same view? To feel such devastation? I can't control it be it 20 years prior or over 100 years where Native Americans were kept imprisoned in St Augustine. The veil between the Spirit realm and this realm is thinner than most know.
Ali Gregg What I wish this one had that the old ones had is an outside observatory....but I guess that wasn't possible.....I went to the old WTC, but didn't get a chance to stand on the top.
I guess I don't understand why they have to 'blow away the visitor with audio visual to build up the experience'. Whatever happened to leaving a person with their own thoughts and impressions and taking in the experience in their own way for what it is? Why do you need 'special effects' to 'enhance' a view that tall in that place? I remember going to las vegas in 1990 and loving it - just a few short years later, went back, and every place you walked into had giant video screen and surround sound BLOWING YOU AWAY as you walked in. Absolutely hated it and never went back
