- Paavo Järvi conducts Tchaikovsky's famous Serenade for Strings at the International Music Festival Hamburg. Due to the Corona pandemic, the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra plays for livestream and radio broadcast only and without on-site audience.

Ganz ganz schöne Aufführung! Ich hab als Cellist die Elegie bis vor knapp zwei Wochen mit meinem Schulorchester gespielt und dann unter anderem das in zwei Konzerten aufgeführt, eines kommt noch. Die Elegie rührt mich so, dass ich fast immer Tränen in den Augen hab, besonders die Cellosoli :)
Wie schön, dass Ihnen das Stück so sehr gefällt und Sie unsere Aufnahme gefunden haben. 🥰

TCHAIKOVSKY WAS A GENIOUS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF MELODIES, NOT ONLY IN ALL HIS SYMPHONIES AND BALLETS, BUT I N THE CHAMBER MUSIC AS WELL ,THE "STRING SERENADE" TOGETHER WITH "SOUVENIR OF FLORENCE" ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECES OF THIS COMPOSER. BRAVO! AND THANKS AGAIN .

It's impressive. The clarity of the attacks, the sound homogeneity within each section of the orchestra... Paavo Järvi intelligently puts in value the right section line behind the melody, but not too much, he distillates amazingly beautiful "breathing" moments, which enable to fully enjoy the power of the lyrical waves, until the very end.

Wow, the sound of the strings is so sweet and comfortable! This is an exemplary sound of what you can do even with the "compressed" sound track delivered to us from TH-cam. Within the limitations of the opus 251 format (highs cut off at 20kHz) the sound is smooth and enjoyable. Oh, and the performance is superb! Dynamic yet
delicate. Listen to those pizzicati ! The waltz gave me goosebumps. Thank you Maestro Järvi, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, camera crew and tonmeisters.

Wunderschöne und tiefempfundene Aufführung dieses romantischen und perfekt komponierten Serenade mit gut phrasierten doch perfekt vereinigten Tönen aller Streichinstrumente. Der intelligente und unvergleichliche Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Streichorchester im veränderlichen Tempo und mit perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
