I had the same struggle when I did my shift boots on my 990a German market tractor bake in 21, Boiling water is our best friend on this job. Thanks for the trip down memory lane shane
At least you did not have to cut the gear stick in half to get them on. The ones I got were easy to put on and have jubilee clips to hold them on tight. I made the short gear stick longer so they were both the same length. This is one I had to cut through as the gear knob was not for coming off. Good vid Shane. M 😀
One of my knobs would NOT come off until I basically destroyed it. That’s why you see that one of the knobs on mine is a bit newer than the other one 😁
Lol oh Shane wish you'd listen to me I was yelling at you to warm em up and you took no notice at all lol. Its nice to learn little tricks and pass em on. So you doing a bloopers video like our mate Barry? Honestly I was crying with laughter
Hi Shane, love that field cooker, does the missus know you've got her best pan? I always wait till Debs has gone to the hair dresser so I can get cleaned up before she's back. good one Shane, looking forward to more of them. Barry
lol, that’s MY best pan now! I’ve been using that pot for years as a container/bucket for my diesel fuel funnel. Pot needed cleaning anyway and boiling a bit of water sure cleaned it up a bit.
Great video. Question: I've put a record ditioned valve chest into my db990 tractor. The arms will lift, but will not go back down for some reason? Any ideas would be appreciated thanks 👍
Thanks for watching! Hmmm... could be the spool valve is stuck, but you said it's reconditioned. I'd talk to whoever reconditioned it to check with them. Other than that, I'm not sure. I'm definitely not an expert on these things. Lots of old posts and comments on the old forum could help. dbforumarchive.com Or you could try Barkley Williams www.barcleywilliams.co.uk/

I’m embarrassed to say it took me far too long to realize I needed to soften the rubber than I let on in the video! 😁🤦♂️
Super helpful and great timing, ordered new boots last week but haven’t mounted them yet 😄
Thanks a bunch! Glad it's helpful, and good luck with yours!
I used your method but carefully warming them up with a heat gun instead, worked great. Thank you!
You teach me something every day
Thanks Tom! Just passing on what I've learned and picked up!

I don’t know. I may wait a bit. Don’t want to just blatantly copy Barry! And I was rolling and laughing so much I had tears!

@@path.of.discovery cheers
Looks like an early 990 to me, what is the serial number
Yep, it's one of the early 990 selectamatics. Serial is 498249 which places it in the range of 1965 to 1968.
Last week of april 1966
You still have a top hydraulic filter on it
@@jandocter951Wow, thank you so much for that! How'd you get the date so exact?
