never be discouraged from a mining gpu. You can get awesome deals on them and most times the minner uses a low clock bios and they ran cooler for longer period of times. Few things to consider though, #1 make sure that the bios are flashed back to the original, if not then negotiate with the seller the price and you can flash it back yourself (got a video on the channel on how to do that so check it out). #2 consider changing the thermal paste when you get it and clean it good. Will def help with performance. #3 from my experience I have never really seen those cards used form mining, typically the AMD cards were used. I typically run it for like 15-20 mins and monitor the temps, if it starts getting too hot shut it down and check the thermal paste. after that run it again and you should bee good. what your looking for is excessive temps from old thermal paste which is an easy fix and artifacting. Sometimes the artifacting is related to heat issues other times its a bad card but a 1030 typically don't get abuse so you should be find. Let me know how it goes, thanks for watching!!
Hey man, I’m planning on building a PC. And I was thinking of getting a 3070 but my my friend is also thinking of getting one, he told me that if he were to get his hands on one, that he would sell me his current 2070 super. Thinking of about $250 depending on how much the price drops when the 3070 releases, what do you think?
250 would be a steal of a deal considering the 3070 will be going for 500. The 2070 is a great card and rocks 1440p and prbly will be the new minimum standard in about 2 years. I personally would not pay no more then that for it considering the price to performance with the 3070 and how everything is gonna drop and change Thanks for watching hope this insight helped and hope you can subscribe to help the channel!
kind of hard to do. You would have to trust his word that it works, then look at the card and check for signs of neglect and abuse. Also see if they would take it back if it don't work.
And dang right mining cards aren't bad I got a 1060 6 gb for 140 and dude only ran it less than a month so basically brand new. I didn't change the bios tho it seems to be working well idk if it'll work better if I change the bios.
use msi afterburner with the on scree display for the specs to make sure you are running the proper frequency for the card. If not then a flash would boost it better to get the most out of it, but i am a firm a believer if it aint broke dont fix it. Also alot of times miners undervolt the cards so the only thing it affects is the boost clock and overclocking but in return your temps are gonna be alot better and give you more consistency with the card!
@@DLMtechgarage thank you very much man that's a great suggestion the guys has three more 1060s 6gb for that price so I might pick those up too and make a few builds to sell with them.
Ayo should I get this gtx 1660 super rog strix and it can overclock for $300? I’ve had a 1660 super on my pc parts list for a while and this 2020 price raise for gpus is so bad. It’s in OfferUp and they’re able to test it for me when I come to pick it up.
Honestly It's hard to say anymore what is a good deal as the market is now based on supply and demand. If that's USD then def not a good deal. Its a great card and the strix has always in my opinion been the go to for kids. If the seller is offering to test it and your areas market shows a fair deal based on retail pricing I would def consider it.
Hello, I'm considering buying a rx 580. The seller told that it was used for mining for like a year and it's almost 3 years old. Should I be concerned? He told me that the card has original BIOS, fans work fine and it looks clean. What do you think? It costs 2700 CZK which is like 120 USD. It's a good price in my country.
as long as its been flashed back, cleaned and has fresh thermal paste you should be fine. The mining cards are clocked alot lower and run at lower voltages to maintain cooler temps so they are not pushed hard at all. Def a good price. I would inspect it thoroughly see if they let you test it but for the most part you should be fine! Thanks for watching, let me know how it goes!
@@DLMtechgarage I bought the card 3 weeks ago and no problems (thank god). Temps are around 78 degrees max when gaming. Fans are a bit noisy, but nothing too bad. The card is clean, BIOS is original. Everything is ok. Thank you.
Honestly don't rush, new cards are coming out by amd and the prices in the market probably will be changing up a bit. plus from experience, right before a launch people sell their used cards cheap so they can have money for the new stuff. right before the 3080 launch i say 2080 ti's selling for 600, and now that the card is hard to find they are back up. Now if your not an Nvidia fan buy def look into a 5600xt. it is cheaper then the 2060 and marginally faster then the 2060. @@mrj933 typically social media platforms are the best. I use Facebook, you have more haggle room, can negotiate better, trade if you have something you don't want. The negotiation is def key because you can communicate easier with the seller and typically bring up valid points and why they need to lower the price, ie. dust, used, mis info etc. I use eBay a lot but it take more searching to find a good deal and requires a bit of playing around with their search engine.
I got a deal of 2 year used msi R7 260x 2gb ddr5 OC with no warranty for almost 50$ is it worth buying? and can you tell me about lifespan about old amd gpus?
if that's USD then that's not a bad deal as they go for $60 for one. Def worth buying for a budget build and for flips. As far as the lifespan, that depends on care of the card. Cards that were cleaned regularly such as keeping the dust off can run a long time. I have seem them last up 10 plus years. Shoot I have cards from 2003 that are still running strong.
i’m thinking of buying a 770 from a mutual friend but i can’t test it myself as i’m still buying parts for my pc should i buy it or what should i ask for?
ask them to send a video of it running and playing a game. If it plays a again for a few minutes then it should be fine. The card goes for avergage $150USD So i would def not spend anymore then that on it and would try to haggle for $100USD
Thanks for your tips. I'm considering buying a rx 6700 xt for 550 £ on Facebook Marketplace. For an a rx6700xt i think is a really good price , but i am afraid about to get a defective GPU. The seller says the GPU is only one moth old. I should risk to lost 550? are a lot of money
seems almost too good to be true at that price range, but then again prices are starting to drop, I would ask if he can show you it running before you buy it. if so then i would go for it.

Hey man I’m not in the us so I don’t have those crazy deals, here a new gtx 1650 super is around 170/180€ a new rx580 8gb for maybe 180/190, I’m considering buying a used rx 580 8gb for around 130€ to pair with and Ryzen 5 1600af o Ryzen 3 3100 do you think the gpu is a good deal? And the CPU, will the 6 core Ryzen give me better future proof?
the 580 will def be a great card for another two years in my opinion, especially the 8gb version. The gpu is a fair deal compared to prices in my area. they run about 120-150USD used. buying that gpu will def pair well with those cpu, but I would def try and get something a little more up to date for the cpu. At least a ryzen 5 2600 will give you more future proofing as the 1600 and 3100 are really not ideal. The 1600 is way slower and the 3100 lacks in multiprocessing which will limit you if you ever want to do video editing or better yet newer games are now using more cores. its a decent deal consider new they go for almost $600 and used they go for $500. def couldn't hurt to haggle a few extra dollars though. My honest opinion with all new card releases coming done in the next few weeks card prices are gonna drop and the new 3070 (if you able to get one before they sell out) will outperform a 2080ti and cost only $500. I currently have an ROG 2060. Should I sell it used, get around $350 back, then try to get a used 2070super when the price drops as 30 series becomes more available?
Be patient my friend. Nvidia is releasing the 3060ti and their is I'm sure going to be a big change in the used market. Anytime a new graphic series card launch the used market goes crazy and people start dropping prices to move their old cards quick to recoup their purchase of new video card. I would hold onto that 2060 a little longer and start watching the used market as you might even see a price dip in the 2080 or better yet, January February of next year the 30 series are gonna be back in stock i'm sure. Also this 3060ti is $399 and it shows that it is 10 percent faster then the 2080 ti, so something def to think and consider. Also that 2060 ROG you got is a good card and with a little OC will get more frames out of it. I currently have a 2080 and I am patiently holding out for some new cards next year when they are back in stock and in the mean time putting away a little extra cash here in their to get a top tier card! That being said, thanks for all the help! I’m going to hold onto my card for a bit longer to see how the used market on EBay fluctuates, maybe get a better 20 series or new lower-end 30 series depending on its performance when put up against the 20 series cards.

That's a good deal in my opinion as they are typically going for around 250 USD. Considering its a couple of months old the wear and tear should not be too bad on it. Make sure you look for dust, debris, check the warranty stickers to see if its been tampered, and def if you able to test it do a good stress test with a program like unigen heaven. I’ve been wanting to get a 3070 for my first build but it keeps getting sold out. So i started looking at used GPUs. There is a seller listing his 2070 super gigabyte for $550 and claims it is less than a yr old. He is also willing to install the gpu to show it works. I’m not in a rush to build, im just starting to purchase the other components for my pc. Is 550 a good price for a used 2070s gigabyte or should i wait for a better deal if im buying used?
if you referring to American currency then that is way overpriced and I would def wait. I would wait for the new cards to come back in stock. The new 3070 are 499 US currency and should be back in stock coming January 2021 if not sooner, and now that AMD has offered the cards people are gonna be selling their used stuff cheap. The 2070 is a great card but woth 550 us currency in opinion. The price have gone it since most then new cards release and people not being able to get their hands on cards. Def wait a little longer if not urgent or shop around for a better deal is that amount is us currency. Thanks for watchinG!
@@DLMtechgarage sorry i should have clarified it is Canadian currency. On amazon this card retails for 900 but im sceptical of this high price. have him run a stress test and send you the video of it running. if they truly legit then they would have no issue with it. over then that considering its a fairly new card everything on it should be good but in newer cards stress test is key to telling you if the gpu has any chips issues.
Hey man i’m looking buy a 2 week old msi 2060 super, the guys saying it was barely used for 2 weeks and he does social media design for a living, he’s asking for $320, should i buy it?
If their is no rush or need I would def wait and save a few more dollars. The rtx 3070 will be released soon and at $499 its suppose to be a 2080ti killer. Just something to consider. Your video helped me while I was testing it, just wanted to say thanks cuz why not.
don't know what the going average in your area is but the seems a bit high for a 1080. the usage should not matter as long as it has no signs of corrosion of the i/o plate and excessive dust. in my area (US) that's way too much as the go for 300 USD but then again with the market the way it is, the price may have gone up on value since cards are so hard to find.
that's the average going rate for the card. As far as value, its a good card but you are probably better off with a gtx 1080, they can be found for around that price and are a better value for gaming. Now with the HBM memory it will be ideal for encoding and editing, so pretty much it just comes down to what are you planning to use it for.

@@stuff6585 buying used is always a risk but can be small. mining cards can be a score due to them being underclocked their whole life, although they run for long periods of time, they run at low voltage and speeds and don't degrade like normal card do. With mining cards I look for rust and corrosion on the i/o plate. That tells me the card was kept in a humid environment and you have a higher risk of corrosion, I tend to negotiate those card low or mostly walk away. As far as none mining used cards, I look for excessive dust build up. If I see that, I tend to negotiate it low and if not I walk away. The excessive dust has been linked to shorting the cards, overheating and causes severe degradation. When looking at a used card, I look for cleanliness and if the warranty sea (screw on the back with a sticker)l has been tampered. if the seal has not been tampered and its clean, that usually means the card was in a clean environment, not used hard and have not suffered from typical degradation. If the sticker has been tampered that means the card was overheating, they took it apart to clean it and changed the thermal paste and its risky if how bad the card was overheating. Now when I get a used card I stress test it with heaven benchmark first and ask the seller if their is an issue what's the return. Although it seems risky you can find a great card by keeping an eye on these key items. Right now the market sucks for pricing and its unforeseen when it will be reasonable so waiting is a gamble too as it could get worse before it gets better. I personally would not pay no more then that for it considering the price to performance with the 3070 and how everything is gonna drop and change Thanks for watching hope this insight helped and hope you can subscribe to help the channel!
ime bying an rx560 pulse version the person does not have a test bench to test the gpu so how do i know if it working or not
kind of hard to do. You would have to trust his word that it works, then look at the card and check for signs of neglect and abuse. Also see if they would take it back if it don't work.
@@DLMtechgarage thank you
And dang right mining cards aren't bad I got a 1060 6 gb for 140 and dude only ran it less than a month so basically brand new.

@@DLMtechgarage thanks a lot! I’ve heard rumors of a regular 3060 as well, and I’m definitely getting tempted to sell it to get a better performing card. I’m just a little dissatisfied with the performance in 1080p, and its lackluster performance in some games. I’ll hold onto my card for a little bit, I’m mostly just looking to recoup its value and maybe spend a little more to get a better performing card. I think another point in which I’m losing performance is in my cpu. I own a 2700x, and compared to the 3000 and 5000 series, it could be a reason why I’m not hitting the frames I want to hit.

Make sure you look for dust, debris, check the warranty stickers to see if its been tampered, and def if you able to test it do a good stress test with a program like unigen heaven. if you referring to American currency then that is way overpriced and I would def wait. I would wait for the new cards to come back in stock. The new 3070 are 499 US currency and should be back in stock coming January 2021 if not sooner, and now that AMD has offered the cards people are gonna be selling their used stuff cheap. Should i buy a 1080 for €400 3 year of use
don't know what the going average in your area is but the seems a bit high for a 1080. the usage should not matter as long as it has no signs of corrosion of the i/o plate and excessive dust. in my area (US) that's way too much as the go for 300 USD but then again with the market the way it is, the price may have gone up on value since cards are so hard to find.
Is a powercolor Vega 64 for £200 worth it on 2020?
that's the average going rate for the card. As far as value, its a good card but you are probably better off with a gtx 1080, they can be found for around that price and are a better value for gaming. Now with the HBM memory it will be ideal for encoding and editing, so pretty much it just comes down to what are you planning to use it for.

They disable the higher clocks so when you get them they run like crap and won't game. They have to be reflashed to the normal bios and typically run fine afterwards.
Hope this helps an let me know if you need any more help. Thanks!!!
