They could have put other entries into the system. Apparently they decided to be over the top, then cheap to not do it.
My friend told me they installed this in 4 bedrooms, this is a new product to me...
So they must not have wanted to run all the ducting somewhere because of cost... which is terrible.. you're installing something upwards of 10k or more, especially if a remodel... then cheap out like this is just.. disappointing.

while it's cute and all, just carrying the whole basket down is WAY faster.
If carrying it is inconvenient, a dumbwaiter is way more practical and you could also ship clean clothes UP
If a dumbwaiter is too expensive, a chute with a manual lid is faster and way cheaper (and you can turn it into a dumbwaiter in the future).
I don't think this is ever practical. Nifty though.

This honestly doesn't look like fun at all. It's extremely noisy. And simply carrying a full basket to the washing machine, would've been 10x faster.
Throwing your shirt in there as you walk by doesn't work either, cause you have to trigger a proximity sensor that activates am motor to painstakingly slowly open that little hole in the wall and then starts the jet figher noise, that wakes up the whole house.
So no wonder, why noone uses it the way it's supposed to.

"No. the usual maximum timer setting of 20 seconds ensures all dirty clothes arrive in the laundry room in even the largest home, but is used intermittently when people undress or change bedding etc. Compared to a vacuum cleaner for example it uses substantially less power per week due to the relatively infrequent use. In normal use the Laundry Jet will just be taking a few items at a time as you discard them so will never be running for extended periods."
