I’m pretty sure AI wrote that description of the song because that’s not what it’s about. It uses death and funerary imagery as a metaphor for betrayal by someone you trust, but it’s not literal. It’s about the end of the long term relationship with the head of her record label-who discovered her as a young teen when there were no other acts on his label-and how she felt like he had made himself rich off of her and then sold her out to someone he knew she hated by literally selling her most valuable possessions out from under her. She’s hurt by someone she loved as a father figure.
I mean people are welcome to interpret her work however they like but the whole ''ghost haunting her murderer" thing is an astoundingly literal translation of the first verse which is more widely accepted to be a metaphor for the breakdown of a relationship (not necessarily a romantic one)
I literally thought it was an AI description. Even the bare bones of research would give Taylor's public description of some of the inspiration, and even in the song "my stolen lullabies" is alluding to her masters. I love lots of reactors, as do many swifties who don't like all of her work and even Taylor acknowledges the different approaches to lyricism she deploys, but it is based on approaching with an open mind and not a presumption they know what she is or isn't when they haven't heard a reasonable representation of her work, or they have failed to understand it. Ironically, no one needs to pay researchers for Taylor lore, as swifties will do it for free! :D
@@dopamine_fiend I reckon you're probably right. It's on the Wikipedia page for the song, I checked the source listed and it was a ranked list which definitely looked like AI created content
Glad you enjoyed it! The meaning of the song you read at the start is off tho. It's about her long time manager. She was the first artist signed to a new label he started. He sold the masters to her first six albums to someone she didn't care to associate with. He'd been an important father figure to her.
You're missing out.. the long pond studio session is amazing.. also, it finishes with.. look at all of my tears, turning into your tears.. and it really drives the message of the song home
My tears ricochet is one of her best lyrically. “You were the same Jewels, that I gave you as you bury me” is a metaphor. The jewels are first six studio albums that her old label manager wouldn’t let her buy unless she produced a new album for each old album he gave back to her. the bury me part is basically him throwing her under the bus by not allowing her to buy back her music, that she is the main writer on.
You have to see the live performance of this on the eras tour. It’s on Folklore set after she sings, “don’t call me kid don’t call me baby” from “illicit affairs”.
I noticed your comment about hidden meanings and metaphors and that you didn’t believe them. I get it. I didn’t use to listen to her. But, about 4 years ago, I did during the pandemic. I listened to her entire catalog during the pandemic. This song is as a literal explanation about killing/ death of someone. But, it’s not about that at all. It’s about losing her masters. Yes Bob Dylan is a great lyricist, so is Taylor but she is a different kind of lyricist. Bon Iver is a great lyricist but very different. To each his own. So if you like Carolina (I do as well) and this one, I can suggest some that MAY be up your alley that you’ll like: 1. Safe & Sound. From the Hunger Games Soundtrack. 2. Tolerate It. Inspired by the novel Rebecca. 3. This is me Trying. 4. Chloe Sam Sophia or Marcus. 5. The prophecy 6. Coney Island (with the National). This actually is a very complex song, if you know. It’s about a current relationship and wondering why isn’t fading, and comparing that to Coney Island. But she intertwines 5 different songs or instances into this song that tells the story of her entire career / personal life and wondering why relationships fail. 7. Hoax. 8. Exile ft Bon Iver
A comment from a Swiftie said that the Chorus has easter eggs of her 6 stolen albums: She's a Mastermind !!!! 1. …..I didn't have it in myself to go with grace ( Song - State of Grace ) Album: RED 2. …..And you're the hero flying around, saving face ( Song - Superman ) Album: Speak Now 3. …..And if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake? ( Song - Look What You Made Me Do ) Album: REPUTATION 4. …..Cursing my name, ( Song - The Way I Loved You ) Album: FEARLESS 5. …..wishing I stayed ( Song - All You Had To Do Was Stay ) Album: 1989 6. …..Look at how my tears ricochet ( Song - Teardrops On My Guitar ) Album: Debut - Taylor Swift

Scott was not Taylor's manager, he was the owner of her former record label, Big Machine Records and who sold her masters.
The bit you recognized has been used a lot on tiktok trends and recently on the trailer for a movie

You should really watch her do this in the long pond sessions. She does an interview before the song share she explains the meaning
This song was recently in a movie trailer “it ends with us”. Maybe you heard it there?
Really liked your reaction!
I discovered her with the two acoustic (pandemic) albums "Folklore" and "Evermore" and i find them absolutely amazing.

OMG! That was so beautiful!!!
Beautiful song, great reaction👏🏻👏🏻
You will like Beautiful Ghosts from the motion picture Cats. She wrote the song for the movie and she sounds so good on it.

React to her song "Closure" pls.. it will not disappoint, it only annoys and disturb 😂
My brain does not like the sounds of that song at all. Too chaotic for me.
Whaoh... 🔥❤️
How can we request songs? I feel like love of my live or so long London may be up to your lyrical emotional standards for sure
Folklore and evermore are probably your albums
