Trevor and Citizen you owe the entire nation either a retraction, apology or clarification on how that clip started by saying GOOD news, stand by your integrity
Heey heey it's easy to tell the clip starts with a portion of some conclusion of the previous report, which supposedly was some news of relief relating to a flood incidence (like life saved etc). . The reference is not to the main news of this clip. Must be an editing error.
Where is the kenya military in all this tragedies...where is the help to helpless victims and their children, i thought the military equipment machinery,.doctors and personnel should be responsive to such situations...especially now that doctors are on strike.. The public is overwhelmed trying to help themselves...with bare hands..
It's not the military's duty or job description to do this they are keeping you safe by keeping terror at bay. Everything you're complaining about falls under our jurisdiction as citizens because we're the ones who give power to leaders to help us with things like these. For example if the locals weren't living directly near the dam they wouldn't be affected. If we voted for capable leaders we'd have a disaster management fund that would help in times like these etc
One at a time.... The Constitution of Kenya 2010 states that, the defence shall assist and cooperate with other authorities in situations of emergency or disaster, and report to the National Assembly whenever deployed in such circumstances. Legally, nothing falls solely on the hands of the citizens. Widespread floods or any other catastrophe is considered a national disaster whereby the government should step in and do the necessary in protecting the citizens. However, you couldn't be more right on the election of leaders who run the government. But then again it might be that we just haven't had any responsible people to elect yet. The citizen stands to lose either way. Your blame on living close to a dam has some ground but then again you may realize that dams are constructed a little less than optimum in our country which is a government matter. In addition, most Kenyans cannot afford to leave their ancestral land. This is my opinion. Your insight would be appreciated, mate.
