Awesome content, thank you Adam! Love Alan’s insights, would definitely recommend people check out his reef to reef thread, great info. Been on the concoction for a couple of months with nothing but good results!
I have adopted this infusion for the last month and many of my acroporas have had much better polyp extension. It is now part of my routine. But I am using it only once a week. However, I have been using tank water all this time. I have not witnessed any negative effects.....yet. However, I use it right away. I do not stock the remaining liquid for a week. I also include probiotics in the mix.
I honestly just eyeball it, but for a small batch of my version, I use about: 1/4 tsp Zeozym, 1/4 tsp Captiv8 Activ8, 1/2 tbsp coral food (I like FM Coral Sprint), 5 drops ZeoBak, 1 cap FM Bacto Therapy, 200ml fresh SW, sometimes 2-4ml MinS, no amino (doesn't do good things for my tank), no additional trace. Put in a bottle, shake up, then add air bubbler to circulate.. Wait at least 6 hours and use over 3 days..
Awesome pocast as always. Just a quick observation. I get that feeding response from a few of my acros when I feed captiv8 powder food and when I mix it with hydrospace bacteria. Also weirdly from feeding PE mysis. Im glad its a good thing, I was kimda worried when it started haha.
I will have a guest soon who's main focus is LPS, so we will definitely discuss thier feeding techniques.. Personally, I just baste my frozen fish food (mysis, plankton, brine) into my gardens of euphyllia and the fish get the excess.
I think it’s a good question! I would say ‘light’ is probably just small frags, single polyp euphyllia etc, with lots of rock space.. ‘Medium’, most spaces taken by corals but not grown out to large sizes yet. ‘Heavy’ is jam packed, corals touching, growing into each other at exponential rates..
I'm notnsure if you guys will end up seeing this or not but why don't you try sterilizing The Saltwater after it's mixed? Instead of adding the step of boiling RODI water just mix salt with RODI and add bleach at 3.2 ml/gallon and then add Sodium Thiosulfate at 90 grams per gallon after a peroid or a couple hours to neutralize the bleach? Just an idea. I do this with my phyto cultures. If youre interested I can double check my math on the quantities of bleach and Sodium Thiosulfate but those should be close. I do it 1300 mls at a time not gallons.
I didn’t understand. It is to use filter water or tank water to dose? Thanks very good episode as always

Glad to hear it! Feel free to share your version of the recipe. Allan and I would like to know what's working for people who have tried it!
I would like to know your recipe as well.
remember the italian pappone recipe!? it was something rumentar but kind of the same aproach to feed corals and all animals in the tank

That was a good listen looking forward to more information in the future to give it a try
Could you share your recipe please?

Do you boil the Particulates in the Rodi water
Kindly throw some light on euphyllia specific nutrition in euphyllia dominated systems in any subsequent deliberations.....

I know this is somewhat of a subjective question but what would constitute as a lightly stalked tank VS Medium, Heavy etc.

Thanks! That’s a pretty good way of putting it.

I always thought zeozym was bentonite clay
