Garza Blanca Cancun Hotel Review - is it good for kids?

- We stayed at the brand new hotel - Garza Blanca Cancun that belongs to the Tafer Hotel Group.
In this video we are discussing the design, location, food, and the amenities of the resort.
It is a five star property located a little north of Cancun near the Playa Mujeres area.
We are answering questions about the entertainment, the kids club, the service, and the junior suite room we stayed in.
This hotel is connected to the Villa del Palmar hotel and we are talking about that property as well.

I just stayed there last week and services is beyond excelent, they already improved the service a lot. Totally recommended it

Agreed ! It's a great hotel but lacks entertainment and activities around the pool. We understand it's a posh hotel but come on a little fun never hurt anyone 😉😜

Look for a second opinion! It’s great place. I is way better with they say. Garza Blanca and Villa Palmar are both connected. It has great amenities. Yes it’s not finished. But you’ll enjoy it. Cabo Garza is very nice too.
This video is for the Garza Blanca in Cancun and was made back when the hotel was still super brand new. So of course somethings will not be open yet and there will be kinks to work out. The Garza blanca in Cabo has been open for a few years already…
The Garza in Cabo is definitely up to speed. The kids are much more behaved than the kids in this video

Yes, I agree - don't charge "Bentley" prices if you're not providing Bentley services...yet.
It's typical for new properties to have growing (or in this case opening) pains. I think a simple solution would have been to discont the rates until the "Bentley" facilities are fully operational.

With Covid in full swing back then and difficulty staffing I am sure the experience was lacking. Mexico tends to stay in the twilight zone too long. Plus the hotel hardly completed and of course boring. That will change. This is why we have waited until "Fully" open this coming May 2022. Nice review, but I am sure not accurate for what the hotel really will be like because even Villa De Palmar next door is pretty amazing for the money. I would suggest returning in May for a more accurate and honest experience. We have been going to this resort for years and have been to Cancun over 15 times including stays at the famous Le Blanc and I will be shocked if come May or June this hotel is not rocking with entertainment and far better service than what you have experienced. By the way I had the same experience with my family last summer so I too am expecting 10 times better and have been assured it will be or my money back. If I were you I would seek some kind of money back for the sub par service. The hotel overall though is pretty amazing and there really is no better in Cancun and not even the Leblanc (except Leblanc and a few others) kicks Garza's but in service. They assured me this will be completely different come MAY! IT BETTER BE!
Thank you !!! Idk but if you get a chance Grand Moon Palace/Nickelodeon is amazing and the service is impeccable! Love LeBlanc :) perfect for adults only hotel ! Garza Blanca has extreme potential needs to add some kind of entertainment, they are building adults only next door called Mousai but they should up their game in entertainment especially if kids are allowed in Garza Blanca :) 😀
Totally agree with this assessment. We are going in November 2023 and I’m 100% confident that it will be an amazing experience.
So what All inclusive resorts in Cancun do you recommend that offer good entertainment, food, kid friendly etc ?

Most resorts I've been to don't have entertainment. I've been to cabo and cancun garza blanca and both were amazing. You can't expect to go during construction and then rag on it for not having everything open. Just my opinion as i understand this is your opinion. Garza is a great resort though. If you want to do things yes you will have to travel off the resort as is most others
Most resorts do have entertainment and if paying this amount per night we believe they should have it for their guests if they chose to attend. Also we have been to other resorts during construction and never ran into issues therefore the "rag" was necessary for us :) Thanks ! 😊
I don't agree with you, we go on vacations to relax and get away. Sorry you don't know how to travel without the kids.
No need to feel sorry. We enjoy traveling with our kids and we also enjoy traveling without but this video was made for families who travel with their kiddos and this hotel is listed as kids friendly and at the time of our travel it wasn't kids friendly, nor was it adults friendly as it wasn't fully staffed or prepared for all their guests. If we travel without kids we go to an adults only hotel in order to "relax and get away " as you stated :) Have a fantastic day 😀
That is not a junior suite thats a one-bedroom suite, Also its a 5 Diamond resort.It is not a place that caters to kids though. I visit Garza Blanca 3 times a year since it's opened and I quite enjoy it. NOT A KID FRIENDLY RESORT and I don't believe that it's marketed as such.
It’s more geared towards adults….the sister hotel Nextdoor is more for the family and kids
The resort next door is really outdated. And Hotel Mousai being built will be Adults only.
@@FlyKidsFly Yes I totally agree… hopefully it will be completed in 2023. As a member in the elite club they don’t treat members like this at all and our services were extremely quick with fast delivery. It’s very unfortunate that an organization so great is not providing top class quality around the board. I never knew guest were not receiving the best they had to offer here..
So, as a member at the Taffer Resorts, I would Ike to suggest some corrections to your Vlog verbiage. Garza Blanca Cancun is a five diamond resort. There is a difference in 5 star and 5 diamond. Villa Del Palmar is the sister resort to Garza. When you stay at either Garza Blanca or villa Del palmar you have access to all the amenities at both resorts when you pay for the all inclusive aspect of your vacation. As for the kids center at villa Del palmar that is a luxury offered to guests that both hotels because Garza Blanca has not completed their kids center as of yet. I can imagine that the kids said her was jampacked at Christmas time because it is a family friendly resort.COVID-19 shut down production and construction at Garza Blanca for nearly 2 years. So with their grand opening yes, they are a little bit slower and perhaps understaffed given that their grand opening was in December and it was Christmas time. Not all of the construction is complete at Garza Blanca but it is more than 3/4 finished. Garza Blanca is designed to be a relaxing atmosphere in a high upscale resort. That does not mean that children and young families are not welcome because they definitely are and when we have visited there has been many families there that have no issues using the children’s center and the children’s water park play area of Villa Del palmar. If you were looking for nightlife and chaos and loud drunken 20 somethings running up and down the hall of your hotel, then the hotel zone is for you and you should visit during spring break. I have visited a resort on the hotel zone in Cancun, not during spring break and I can tell you, that experience was miserable and you get exactly what you pay for. As a member of this resort group I can tell you there is no other place in Mexico that I would rather visit then Garza Blanca Cancun Garza Blanca Cabo and Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta. If you’re looking for an all adult stay then you would go to the hotel Mousai that would offer you quiet adult only interaction and no children. But if you’re looking to take your family somewhere quiet and relaxing and get the full Caribbean affect and be pampered beyond your wildest dreams Garza Blanca Cancun is the place for you. To say that you would never visit anytime soon again it’s misleading to the people to follow your Vlog because you obviously have not seen the happy families wondering between the two resorts which is just mere steps apart from each other. My suggestion would be that you research your vacation destinations to see if they are family-friendly what they do offer I can tell you that when I go on vacation I thoroughly research where we’re going and what there is to do. And as vacation vloggers you would think you would do the same. As for people looking frustrated at children running around in the lobby, I would be too and as a mother of nine I would not allow my small children to do that so that is a moot point to your Vlog. If you are thinking of visiting Garza Blanca or villa Del palmar which are both spectacular destinations you should truly look at their ratings on the Tafer resort sites because they have 4.9 out of five stars rating. You did not do your research on this resort otherwise you would’ve known that it was not completed and the cranes in the background those are building the new hotel Mousai the adults only resort that is a sister resort to Garza Blanca and villa Del palmar.
Everything that you wrote below was repeated to what we said in the video, not sure what exactly you meant by different verbiage. We sure did do our research and they had told us that they were up to par in regards to staffing and we were able to use to Villa del Palmar amenities because of the inconvenience. However this isn't something they post on their website and that's not something a 5 star ( diamond ) hotel should be with holding. Also we stayed at Mousai several times in Vallarta and loved it but as for Garaza Blanca being kids friendly I would never say that...it's plain boring . Also in most of the novel reply you had wrote if you go back and listen to what we said you'd understand. This our honest opinion that we want to give our viewers so they are aware that this hotel is simply NOT ready to run a hotel that is entirely booked. I will add since you're a Taffer member and ONLY visit Taffer resorts you'd know that this isn't that standard of the hotel (being that its a 5 diamond) if you're paying a nice chunk of change we believe viewers should know what service they'd be getting if choosing Garza Blanca Cancun now . In addition, as also stated kids are welcome here ( clearly) as we did stay here but there wasn't anything to do and the kids area in Villa del Palmar had a staff of two for 20 kids at one point, going in and out of the pool/beach area so we chose for the safety of our children that wasn't a good idea. Also we don't mind kids running down the hallway it's not an adults only hotel, its also their vacation, and we sure as heck let them run their energy out in the hallway because that's the only activity they got in the hotel . You just flipped from everything you said in your video. Your video was very negative sounding about the things that they didn’t have for the kids. There’s a reason they were understaffed and it’s temporary but you made it sound in your video like that’s going to be the case all the time. There’s a difference from kid friendly to kid centered. They don’t have a lot that will entertain little kids but that’s not their goal and they shouldn’t have to say that on their website. Also the ability to use both facilities isn’t just because they’re under construction that’s an opportunity that will be ongoing for those who have wristbands but you made it sound like they did it as if it was because people would complain. You made it sound like this hotel just opened and it wasn’t prepared which just showed that even though you may not of done enough research before you also didn’t do any while you were there, you just went with what you experienced. We have never had any service issues anytime we have been there during construction phases just as many people have not but you made it sound as if that was the norm because you did. We are very familiar with this place and just by watching your video as a one time guest there you can tell that you clearly were not familiar enough to be speaking as negatively as you were about it. Your video is almost completely negative about a place that has been open for a couple of years as a soft opening while trying to finish the rest of the facility so that they can introduce them selves to the public and when you were there Covid had them short staffed but you didn’t credit that in your video. You were there right at the time they made their first complete opening to the entire facility. Staffing issues aren’t common to places like that. This is an amazing place that is far more capable of a good experience than you may have had but it didn’t deserve type of review you did.
@@snowman10four88 correct this is a negative review of Garza Blanca Cancun based on our experience. This is how we experienced our stay and had many other guests ( who are also residents ) that did not like the service. It's not fair to the staff nor the guests that the hotel isn't prepared. It's not to say it doesn't have the potential. However people should be advised that they should call and ask if the hotel is fully open and post construction and running as a 5 diamond hotel that is marks itself to be :) You telling me I shouldn't post a video like this because you're upset that the hotel you stay at isn't up to par isn't going to make us take the video down. This is our experience and yes they should 100 percent mention when purchasing how the hotel is running and what amenities are not available at that specific hotel without having to use their sister hotel amenities that they bought out that is not 5 diamond.
@@FlyKidsFly your just upset because it didn’t go as you assumed it should. No hotel opens expecting to be short staffed but nonetheless what did you expect them to do? Close entirely? That sounds like what you are suggesting. You criticize them for using their neighboring resort to help accommodate guests which is actually a plus not a negative because it is a solution. Perhaps they had a better response to reservations than expected upon opening? You keep saying that it needs to complete some things before they are up to par but the knife to the throat in your review is your final question of whether you would stay again and you said “no”. That shows your desire to be negative even though it was overdone. Just saying, vlogers like you can really impact a business unfairly by your videos and you are still wrong about this place. Every place has disappointing factors for some. None are perfect but it seems your stuck on still claiming this place won’t be worth your time again even after your acknowledgment they are working to finish or improve the very things you complain about. You have a responsibility in your position and should take it more seriously. Your review doesn’t show much attempt to educate yourself about the place outside of talking to other guests that may not be informed properly either.

Yes, we always tip well because it was not the worker's fault. Keep in mind we went a year ago when they just opened so the management was not ready and they did not have enough people. The servers and house keepers were just amazing, hard working people. We had friends go to GB last month and they saw great improvement.

We went right when it opened. They were using a kids club at the hotel next door.
Any resort recommendations for families traveling with teenagers? Moon seems geared toward younger children?
I'd Def say Xcaret number one and then Grand Moon. We saw a ton of teenagers at Xcaret and the activities are endless. You can be there 4 months and not go through it all lol. I would say Nickelodeon/Hyatt Ziva is geared more towards younger but Grand Moon palace does have activities for teenagers shows, surfing etc.
If I had to pick one hotel for teenagers Xcaret would be my pick hands down. :)

is there an resort that you'd recommend that is great for kids and good food?
Our favorite is The Grand at Moon Palace - lots of entertainment for kids and the food was awesome but the beach has lot of seaweed. If you have older kids the Xcaret seems to be the best option but it’s located closer to Tulum.
Also, The Nickelodeon Playa del Carmen opened not too long ago. We visited the Nickelodeon in Punta Cana some time ago and it was amazing.
Seaweed season is from May until around September. The best time to go to Cancun is early to mid November. Before the crowds and high prices of “High Season” which starts in December, but after the hurricane and seaweed season. Beaches are beautiful then.
