Every time I see these beautiful machines in action I think about the Wright Brothers. How I wish they could know what their magnificent first flights have morphed into. The aviation pioneers deserve so much respect for their guts and well, just pure bravery and foresight. I salute them all.

I would rather be flying First in a real old Pan Am or Varig 707, to GIG, or a Alitalia DC-8 to FCO, or Lufthansa 707 from FRA to ORD, then a UA 727 to MCO, then your flight anytime, bud! The 380 is a real ugly beast, useless, built for the ME3, that's all, it's another Comet, VC-10, Mercure, Caravelle, and many others, sorry my friend!

But with the Electra you touched my heart, I flew in the L188 II on VARIG air bridge Rio-Sao Paulo hundreds of times, also do not forget the Super Constellation, well, happy flying, regards from Chicago!

Its only when you see the bloody yellow suv at the bottom left hand corner of the screen you get a perspective of how huge this beast really is. Mind blowing.
The bottom of the fuselage from the wing leading edge to the trailing leading edge, is flat and smooth. No doubt the A380 receives lots of additional lift from the underbody as it no doubt acts like a lifting body-type aircraft added to its gigantic wings.
Like Chris&Rolf I’m also in my seventh decade, as a child my first flight was on a Douglas DC3. I’ve flown most commercial aircraft & I agree the A380 is the most comfortable I’ve experienced & I’m only an economy person. I’m reasonably tall & don’t need to book an exit row on the A380 to get decent legroom.
The wheels are ahead on ground. Compared to exhaust rear impact. Moreover a380 turbofan engines manipulate huges masses of gaz at less temperature vs fighter turbo jet engines. Ssalam
Say bye to these 380s their not going to have their leases renewed. Gonna be a lot of these parked soon .Thank heavens. Clogging up airports, long load and deplaning times, special tow equipment clobbering runways on landings. Patience has been taxed with these guppies. Qatar Quantas Hong Kong and Emerates are all canceling orders. Amazon might buy them. Haul packaging

Your comment is true. They have become "dinosaurs" rather early in their life. No American airline has or will buy one. They are already in a process of being a thing in the past. On the other hand. the Boeing 747 is impressive. They have become dinosaurs too but they came out in 1969. The 380 around 2006.

It took Europe almost 37 years to come out with something equivalent to the B-747. Then, in light of your comment....why did Airbus not see the "future" that late in the game ?
@@colinsouthern I guess I'm a Boeing fan b/c it's a great American company with great historical traditions. Nevertheless...I am impressed with what Europe has done with Airbus. Decades ago, a pilot in my family used to call them "Scarebus". They do make very good aircraft and are impressive. Enlighten me. I do not know about Starliner. The 737 MAX I have been aware of. I do believe they will recover. Don't you think it's all public relations by now?

Weird. I always thought runway’s were graded flat for safety etc. Where’s on this you can see dips and rises.
They are flat. That is max 2-3 meter hump on 1km long section. And that means nothing in a runway.
The telephoto lens on the camera shooting from the front exaggerates the gradient by shortening the perspective.
Very silent aircraft, very little noise for such a big plane.
