    You can see he has a tongue-in-cheek style of humor and sounds honest without sounding obnoxious, and that's probably because of his endearing personality. Give him a few years to improve his language and he'll be a great person to interview.

    yea that difficult opponent question was spot on. 2012 bruins-caps series i recall chara really shutting down ove for alot of the series (i think ove really got on the goal sheet in game 6). and as far as luongo goes yup that's true as well. ove got a penalty shot vs luongo this season but was stoned. funny to see ove's insight into certain players that he plays against.
    as a canadian love to see gold come home again, but ove will try his best to light up luo to win gold in his home country. cant wait!

    since the change in the NHL (post-lockout) there is no way we can ever compare the players we see to those in the history books ever again. Gretzky, Orr, Howe, etc are one breed and Ovi, Malkin, Crosby, etc will have to be considered a different breed. The game has changed, the numbers need to be considered as different too.

    1) You do realize assists also come off rebounds too?
    2) If Crosby shot the puck as often as Ovie does, I'm pretty damn sure they'd be way closer in goals scored.

    @EpicfailProd I know, However someone was implying here that the amount of Ovie's assists imply that he's as good as Crosby at playmaking.

  • @AtheistPride007
    @AtheistPride007 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    What are you talking about Crosby was asked to play in Russia for 8 mill CAD a season, and he would have if the lock-out was still alive he would have played there. The Average salary for them is $300 000 American, pretty above average for a semi-pro hockey league.

    Firstly you gotta give a huge credit to this guy just simply because he is one of the best Icehockey players in the world, secondly he speaks English, and I am sure that he is pretty much good at it + Aleks is very funny guy, even on different lenguage, he is well self-educated, which is pretty much respectfull. And considering others comments like Canada will OWE Russia.. I think you already just called urself an idiot by saing that. ;-)

    i read this stat a couple years ago about the percentage of people who play organized hockey in the major 7 hockey countries, and i remember being shocked at how few the number of russians was. don't quote me, but canada was at like 16% or something, whereas russia was at 3%. it was surprising low. it seems like russians care more about soccer, really.

  • @dldetwi
    @dldetwi 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah, Gretz scored way more goals on way less shots. Most players score more goals on less shots these days, considering Ovie ranks lower than 100th in the NHL in shooting percentage, as of this past season. He just shoots about 200 more times than any other player, and finishes about 10 goals ahead of the next guy.

    I remembered when he interviewed Jason Blake or maybe it was another guest, Stroumbo said something like, he/she's good at (insert whatever he/she does) but he's not just good at that or else he wouldn't be on the show... I somehow feel that they could have tried to fetch somebody else for an interview aside from AO. I mean yeah of course he is currently the no1 or no2 player in the world right now, but still I thought this show wasn't all about popularity.

    russia is technically a "developing/emerging economy". the EU, USA and canada are "developed economies" (former first world). russia is categorized by economists with other developing countries like mexico, india, brazil and south africa. with its unemployment and inflation levels, and growth almost entirely dependent on its oil reserves, it is much closer to what was called the third world during the cold war (now the underdeveloped and developing world) than the first world.
