NOOR!!! This is so great! As a fellow journalist/ filmmaker, I could really tell just how much HARD WORK and time you put into this!! And it turned out AMAZING!! Your love of storytelling and passion for this (really important and interesting) story, in particular, is so clear. Awesome job on all the b-roll and stand-ups; their placing really added to the story and made it a great watch. I can't wait to see what you'll do next!! So happy for you! :)

This such a beautiful piece, keep making more "mini" documentarys about the people who don't have a voice speak for them because they all deserve justice😊
This mini doc was put together very well, I’m from the DMV area and only found out today about this institution. I was looking at abandoned sites in MD out of curiosity. Became intrigued by this story and to hear what those people done to those patients is heart wrenching and the government owe all those affected families.
Loved it! It was extremely well shot, well edited, and kept me really engrossed throughout. Loved how you talked about the Forest Haven case while developing Brian's story as well. The message of the documentary overall was great!
I worked at the Art and Drama Therapy Institute for 4 years and the program was absolutely incredible! The participants of the program were some of the sweetest people you would ever want to meet! Looking at this documentary brings back so many wonderful memories. 😊 Great documentary! 👍🏾
What a wonderful documentary you’ve done. I apologize it’s taken me years to find this. Thank you for bringing this to light. I love how it turned out for Brian.
I have been in there a while back after the closing. I sat down and read stacks and stacks of those files and it brought tears to my eyes. You really did a wonderful job on this. Now I can know alot more of the story.
I’ve worked with an individual who was once an individual there... this is what made me research it. I understand him 10x more now... wow. This breaks my heart💔
This was so insightful and humbling to see you give a voice to those who don't get a chance to be heard. It's scary to think this could happen and yet still not be solved completely with so many patient notes lying around so free for anyone to read. Great documentary-really interesting! Would be interesting to know what kind of laws/regulations are in place at the moment to prevent events like this occurring and if they are followed through rigorously enough... :)
Hi! This was amazing to watch. i visited over the summer and since then I've been basically obsessed and researched my ass off. I was wondering where you obtained those clips from when it was open? Its amazing to even glimpse what it was like when in operation.
Miss Tagouri, this is the first video I've seen of yours, and it will not be the last. I have subscribed at once! I stumbled upon this video while looking up Urban Exploration videos. It's so horrible, what happened to all of these poor souls. This story is so important, and you told it so incredibly. You are a fantastic journalist!
Salam wa Alakum Noor, Your news doc. about Forest Haven had me speechless and my heart wrenching. You did an amazing job, keep going! just subscribed cause I can already tell your gonna be showing the world the side it needs to see
wow. i saw Noor from someone else's instagram and came to see this video in insta. I am so amazed by you and your work. This gave me chills. I am inspired.
Very well done. Reminds me of "Suffer The Little Children", regarding Letchworth. It's sad and tragic how the treatment was at 97% of these old hospitals. I don't know if they didn't care, or it was a power trip for the staff...being able to hurt someone trapped and defenseless. Sick and sad.
I live two hours and ten minutes away from there, me and a group of friends plan to visit. It's horrible what these people had to go through. The people in charge should be prosecuted to the full extent. They treated them worse than animals in a shelter. Although, I don't believe when I visit that I'll be able to think about anything but what I've heard. People suffered, and died within this facility. How humans can be so inhuman, and cruel to other people, especially ones in needs and children is just horrifying. When I visit I'd like to read the files left, the "progress reports" and see how the patients were reacting to their so called "treatment". I'm sure there was good hearted staff members that did help. It's just a shame that not all of them could have had this kind heart and treated these people as if they would have their friends or family, and how they would have wished for them to be treated or themselves to be treated. Beautiful documentary, love how they didn't just visit the place. They reached out to old workers, and patients to fully try to understand. Wonderful job, chilling and something that will forever be in the back of my mind when I Vista this institution.
I love learning about early Asylums and the history of how we treated mental health and disabilities. Its really crazy at how the world treated these people. I learned that sometimes Husbands would drop their wife off just so they can remarry because Women were seen as less in a way back then. Great Content. Please do more of these mini docs
i just went today and got caught walking down the main road with one of my friends he claimed he was calling the police and told us he would meet us near the storage place once we got there we just left nothing happened
Who was calling the police? Why were you walking down the main road? You didn't use the trail going through the woods? I'm glad you didn't hang around. Thanks.
Medical records lying all over abandoned medical buildings is pretty common. I have yet to find an abandoned hospital, asylum, or clinic which didn't leave all their records behind, strewn all over the place. I've even found signed cheques, bills with all personal info on them, credit cards, bank cards, drivers' licenses, health cards, social insurance cards, you name it.
very lovely vid its now on my playlist they overcame the adversity of being inmates as i call them to people who finally were release from that awful, horrific prison called forest haven god bless them every one of them!!!!

My mom was having an operation or something..my dad refused to take care of us for that time ...he never visited me or my two sisters the whole time I'm 62 now and that was back in 65?66? And I sit and fume but it was a paradise compared to the video...I just get tired of being abandoned...
I'm here because some youtubers are playing a game called "See you soon :)" and the game just takes the coordinates of this Asylum! And people don't know why the game takes us there, it's a mystery
i went there and it was a pretty crazy. I went alone so a lil creepy.. i ended up walking the catwalk in the attic after i climbed the ladder and there was something up there chasing me.. no physical being but the sound kept following me. a loud squealing sound. i didnt stop til i left the attic. havent had much time to edit the photos. but my instagram is @visual.intent if you wanna see one shot of the church i did. a few days later the place sparked up again and went into flames..
Horrifying! I cant help but wonder if the majority of patients were black and if they were treated so badly because of that I think alot has been hidden theyve kept information there that they dont mind people reading
The horrific mistreatment, physical, mental, emotional & sexual abuses/assaults were common place in almost every single institution in the USA. As another example, please see the multiple documentaries on Willowbrook State School in Staten Island, NY. I was overseeing nursing/medical care for the residents in group homes who were formerly from Willowbrook. These residents were traumatized by their experiences. These institutions were dumping grounds for decades- until the late 80's.
THAT IS NOT TRUE! The entire area is off limits. The entire area is closed to visitors. There are numerous trails leading into the place. There are about 8 videos of this place, read the comments. Many of them tell you where to park and how to get in with other tips. Just to repeat, there IS security and they DO patrol the area but not on a regular basis. Use stealth, be quiet and don't make noise.
it seems theyre going to breakdown this institution. my friend and I tried to get into one of the buildings, but were caught by the guards or somethin. they let us go, but we were unable to get anything out of there. passed by the administration building and it was boarded shut. there were also construction trucks parked all around one of the roads. how did you guys get in?? great documentary btw. we live in Maryland and live about an hour away from laurel, so it struck our interest, but those guards killed the mood :/
