6:51 - "Our home is a quiet haven of peace and sweet union; Welcome be the friend who brings us your heart." - I just love it, and your narration at the beginning of the video it's perfect. Thank you to show us so many beautiful places.
Wow!! That is so beautifully written!! I do artwork and I would love to put that in maybe calligraphy above my entrance door to my home!! Or maybe gift it to my adult children for their own entrances to their homes!! They are so kuch like me , I know they would love it! Especially written in a special calligraphy , as both of them also write in calligraphy! It is such an artform in itself , and becoming a lost art quickly!!
Your voice is so sweet and soft and it's just amazes me how people just leave everything behind family pictures kind of sad if you think about it what made these people just up and leave
I particularly love the warm yellow ambient lighting in this place that creates a sense of passive calmness and contemplation which is unobtrusive. I would love to spend time socializing with friends in this place in late evenings and nights.
Lesley, you have such a calming and palliative timbre to your voice. It is the perfect accompaniment to the visual story you tell. One of the most beautiful places you have showcased yet, and very reminiscent of a few Tuscan villas I’ve seen in Italy. Exquisite.
When I moved to Puerto Rico, I learned to wash clothes in a Topper like that, and for years I stood washing my clothes by hand most of the times even now, the soap we used to use was a bar soap in blue color that would last for ever with out wasting and the clothes would come out bright clean... loved it. You took me back in time when I saw that part of the video.
You have a calm and respectful demeanor. You are an old soul who has great interest in sharing the past with such detail with in your sweet story telling. The soft music, the filming to get all details and angles as well the educational background info just makes for a enjoyable experience to view. Thank you for capturing these beautiful historical places which at some point unfortunately will be gone forever.
Love your voice, it's so soft and relaxing; when I'm stressed I find myself turning to your videos, its like ASMR. Great job btw :D Always neat to see these abandoned places.
There are no words that would do this home justice of such magnificent magnitude. The delicate and intricate arches of the palaces outdoors, such a huge arrangement of eye candy with art and the museum quality of the painted Rose's and the patina that has inrobed the wine bins, OH MY.....the list is limitless, I just wish as I know so many would, that SOMEONE would save this magnificent peice of art and the entire home is just that. Priceless, and another wonderful video as usual from the Bros of Decay. Thank you for showing us beauty in a form of a piece of art made of porcelain, memories and skilled art.💗
IM A STRAIGHT 60 YEAR OLD MALE AND I CAN WATCH AND LISTEN TO LESLIE ALL DAY VERY CALM AND SOOTHING. PLUS HE. AND JORDY HAS THE BEST FINDS!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK AND I KEEP WATCHING. IF I HAD SOME WAY BESIDES PAYPAL I WOULD SEND YOU SOME MONEY TO HELP!!!! LOVE YOU GUYS!!
I enjoyed this video . I love the grounds. And the house was magnificent. I love every room . Sculptures and paintings. Shame it's left to deteriorate. Wish I could buy it. But I'm not a rich person. I would have it restored. To the original gorgeous state. Take care both of you. Have a wonderful day.
The reason I love this channel is not only the AMAZING locations you film, but you are honestly some of the most respectful and considerate explorers I have seen! Never any sort of destruction, always so careful not to damage or destroy anything. I love this about you and your channel! Thanks again for another great video. :)
Just found what you do a week ago. You do a great job. Some of these people that lost their beautiful treasures were bullied and threatened by some of 13 bloodline families. So sad!
What an amazing Palace. The hall where you enter and the dining room are spectacular!!! Thank you so much for sharing another wonderful place with us... Hopefully someone restores it before its too far gone...
How does this happen? Not just this place, but so many, glorious structures now left in decay, but at one time we’re still intact. I watch these and don’t understand sometimes how it’s all just abandoned. It hurts my heart.
Interior is really eclectic for 1926! I like all the delicate details, plaster work and frescos... It's not the concrete building and it's deteriorating gracefully, but attention to detail is amazing!

Hi Lesley and Jordy Bros of Decay, Wonderfully narrated introduction! - I really love your very gentle way, how you again approach the life of the former inhabitants of this amazing Portuguese wine palace. - Once more I also loved seeing Danny in your video, because I also like watching his videos as well. - These huge winetanks looked incredible considering the enormous size. - The entrance hall is absolutely breathtaking, especially the amazingly still intact murals. I think it is all done in the Portuguese neo baroque style. - It is really such a pity that this place is just left there dacaying to pieces. This really makes me sad to see!!. - The grand hall with the mirrors is incredibly breathtaking and reminds me a little bit of the palace of Schönbrunn near Vienna. - Absolutely wonderful video of a truly magnificent location, which I enjoyed watching! - Wishing you all the best, my dear friends of the winning team Bros of Decay!! - Take care and stay safe. Kindest regards.
Hey Willy, Lovely to hear that you enjoyed this episode, Danny is a great guy and he deserves to be noticed out there :) This place was just wonderfull with such incredible designs and articafacts left. Thank you for watching as always, Hopefully I can make it to Switzerland this summer... Kind regards, Lesley
@@BrosOfDecay , Hi again, Yes, Danny more than deserves to be noticed. I love how colourful Portuguese decor is ❤ This must have been a lively place in its time with workers and family passing through. I can only imagine the hustle and bustle in the kitchen, in the garden, and in the wine facilities. This was a soulful place.
It really is a crime that such historical, beautiful architecture and hand-crafted design is simply left to decay. It really breaks my heart to know that these once stunning homes are simply being left to crumble and eventually dissappear forever 😢 Once again a great exploration Bros of Decay 👏👏❤️
I just recently started following you. Some of the places you explore are magnificent and you are lucky to be able to share them with us. I thank you very much!

this was a beautiful vineyard and cave. You can see how it was in its prime, with many workers and guests coming to the big house. It is still in decent condition for having been built in the 1920s. It is always sad to know that one day the roof will begin to leak, and the water will destroy the beautiful frescoes from the walls. It must have been a wonderful place to live before the hard times came to its family. Thank you for sharing this with us...and stay safe on your adventures.🖤🇨🇦
Bros Of Decay I often think I would love to rescue and restore one of these old homes to live in, but I’m getting a little old to be taking on huge projects now. You give me material to think about how I would do it, and my home gives me the comfort in which to dream.🖤🇨🇦

This Church is in a small French village in South Western Ontario and masses were in French. It had two alters one on each side of the main alter which was a beautiful white spiralled topped French architecture. The walls on either side had the stations of the cross on them. In it's day it was heated with coal. The basement had a coal furnace with an auger feeding the coal to it. The priest home was next door and there was a convent for nuns next to the priest's house. The nuns taught at the school that is still being used.
Hi Lesley & Jordy, this was such a magnificent place and I really loved the ceiling decorations with the gorgeous paintings. Such a shame they had to leave as they obviously put a lot of time and love into designing it. Thank you for sharing. xx💖
I know that you're not a ghost hunting or paranormal channel but, I have observed dozens and dozens of entities, or spirits in your video productions and have always wanted to point them out; i.e., At 3:18 in the video you can hear an EVP which sounds like the Dutch word for Grandfather, "Opa". I know you are in Portugal, but maybe the spirit is communicating to you in your own language? (Why it would call a young man "Opa" is a mystery to me. Further, pausing at 3:47, if you look in the upper right corner of the screen you will see an insert-image of what appears to be an Alien, although I'm fairly sure it's just a run of the mill ordinary spirit. There are many more examples within this video, but too many to mention. You do great work, always remembering that you are in someone's former home. The respect which you show to the homes and former residents is truly admirable.
I really wish you would have shown more of the place. Don't worry about the length of the video's I'd rather you went longer & showed more of the bigger places.
1:26 I had an Italian friend that lived at the end of my block now to tell you what they told me. That looks like an old one so here is what I teach you a little something that is outside there for it was not used for washing or decoration it was used to make the wine they use the board to squish the grapes to make the wine or any fruit that can make the wine they used that because it was easy to get all the juices out. So they would scrape the grapes along the grid and when all the grapes were squeezed they would use a dive to take out the big chunks not all wine was made by stomping on them. I learned this when I was 9 years old and went and watched how my friend's family would take one day of the month and make new wine and I actually helped them one day this is how I know this. Her parents told me back in their country this is normal to make their own wine. They said after 3 months of having it sit in the bottles in a cold place it was ready to drink, her mom was from Paris and her dad was from Italy and they both said in either country that makes wine this is how they would make it. Her mom told me Italians do things together as a family {or was that Paris did things as a family?} either way you look at it they would set aside and family would help each person would have a job to do usually 3 to 4 people to squish depending on how big the family was maybe more. And 2 people to sift the big chunks out like the branches and the grape skins and seeds this also depends on how big the family was to help to it some times more some times less and about 6 would bottle again would depend on how big the family was to the number of people who would be bottling the wine. It is a system that worked for many generations and yes if you have people in your family make wine everyone in the family helps make it. Not sure if you knew this but thought would put that in here for you and yes this I learned at the age of 9 years old but my added thing is both her parents said in any place where they make wine is done the same way in making it what they use is different and how they get juice from it may be different but it is the same family helps in the process.
Massive production of wine making was going on. I love the artwork showing the grapevines and way of obtaining juice back in the day. Enjoyed this vlog and decay of ceiling could be due to roof leak. Thank you

It must have been such a sureal experience to wash clothes that way, it really brings you back to the simple things in life!
Bros Of Decay Yes it was..
I’ve got the blue soap as well. My family from the Caribbean also used it lol
I grew up using this "lavaderos" (washers in Spanish) - and I still use a portable made of glass to take the stabborn spots by hand.

I love this!! Thank you so much for sharing! I wish someone that worked or live there could explain the process so I could envision it all working!
Massive production of wine making was going on. I love the artwork showing the grapevines and way of obtaining juice back in the day. Enjoyed this vlog and decay of ceiling could be due to roof leak. Thank you
