- Seal pups are as playful as little children or puppies, they will play with anything they find, including this bright fishing line spool. It’s easy for a seal to get his head through, but impossible to get out again. With the seal still growing by the day, it’s just a matter of time before he suffocates or starves to death. Luckily the rescue team found him early enough and they did not even have to bring the bolt cutter out. Meanwhile, Tony gets bitten AGAIN by a seal. Seal bites are a risk that comes with the job of a rescuer, and luckily Tony’s injury was not severe.

I'm sorry you got bitten, Tony, especially because it delayed you enough to miss the target seal. Since rescue trips to Mowe Bay are infrequent, you might not see that seal again. 😟

Tony was hurt, but didn’t stop for a second and continued to save the seal. Isn't this heroism? And it was very successful to remove this coil without tools. The seal jumped so happily towards the water. Thank you for saving him.
