Thank you! These are the best instructions I’ve found - better than Tesla’s own video. I like the way you leave the filter housing in place, just removing the top of the housing. Tesla recommends removing the entire filter housing, which is extra work. Your directions are much better, and more efficient.
Glad it helped.
I think my asthma had improved since i bought my tesla last year
Great DIY tutorial. I do wish Tesla would have included a "total run time" meter in the cars center display i.e. xx HRS/MIN run.
Can you tell how air flows into the HEPA filter intake? I don’t see any openings on top
Tesla says these filters should be replaced after 3 years
I have dust in my cabin after just 2 years
Was gonna post this same thing. No wonder it’s still clean, only a year old bro, only needs changed every 3 years
Any statement that starts with “Tesla Says” needs to be verified… examine your use and environmental conditions before sticking to a Tesla timeline
@@johns00982 you're right, you probably know more about maintaining the car than the folks who, you know... build the car
@@gcjenks3689 that’s why Tesla says it’s RECOMMENDED, because you can’t base it on time… its based on environmental considerations
thank you
I'm curious why you replaced the HEPA filters so soon? I ask because time and miles doesn't matter with filter life, unless you are running your air in Biodefense mode all the time.
Great video. What year is your tesla ? My 2020 model Y doesn't have any of these HEPA filters, just the cabin filters inside by the glove box.
2022
My name 2021.Can't find either
Hi my friend.. while unscrewing the bolts, the ellen wrench fell inside.. is that ok ? Any harm to my vehicle ??
Can you explain how the air flows into the HEPA filter intake? I don’t see any openings on the top.
Which filter causes the nasty smell over time? The cabin air filter and needing to clean the condenser?
Yes, the cabin filter but more importantly to clean the coil.
Model Y's have two sets of filters??? ty
2022 later model only
@@jonathanmu6072 yeah I never knew that. Thanks.
@@jonathanmu6072 but you can get a retrofit for the 2021 model Y installed by Tesla for $330.
@@jonathanmu6072 My late 2021 MYP also has the hepa (two sets)
@@2scienceHow did you figure it out? I Have the MYP 2021 but not sure if mine has it
are cabin filters same size in the model 3 and y?
which year is your car?
2022
Tesla has Hepa filters should be changed every 30K miles. Cabin filter are replaced at 25K miles.
I was not able to find it in your description but is it a 2022 or 2023 model? Is it the same for the 2022 as for the 2023? Thanks a lot
It actually fits the 2020-2024.

Does airintake use these filters or these are biohazard ones?
My model y is only 1 year old and the AC is beginning to stink. Do I need to replace the cabin and the hepa filter?
Start with the cabin air filter along with cleaning the coil.

It really depends on your environment, if the air isn't as clean in your area, it's super cold or hot, it's very humid, or you run heat/air heavy then it can wear faster.
@@dylanmusgrave3657 I replaced the cabin filter and the smell is gone. I live in a very humid state so that makes sense
I just watched your video, so I apologize for the late question. Does the 2023 Model Y also have the internal cabin filter or does this external hepafilter replace the internal filters or does the 2023 have both internal filters and external filters?
2 Internal cabin filters that you can access through the right side footwell and HEPA in the frunk.
Both relatively easy and cheap to replace - I do it on a yearly rotation due a lot of dust in my area.
@twoclogs thank you. I was hoping the frunk bio filter also replaces the internal filters.
good video
Thanks
Which year model y has this? I have a 2021.
2022
