    best info i seen yet!! if you could make a tutorial on every zbrush tool that would be the best video series that there ever could be!!! zbrush should make tutorial this good in stead of the weak tuts they put out! i would pay good money for that. the way you explain thing are so clear, so concise, so precise. i cant say enough good things about your tutoring style!! please post more. make your zbrush channel. please. please. please!!!

    thank you! really like the completeness. I think what could have made this even greater is either if you had used different models than the sphere to extract from or different more easy to remember shapes of extraction as after a while they all feel the same and makes it harder to make mental markers to put structure to remember the subtleties of each approach. Just an idea. Thanks for yet another great tutorial!!! Awesome!

    I wish I had found this video before. A month ago, or so, I did waste several hours testing every setting and feature of Panel Loop.
    Thumbs up, anyway.

    @9:47: unfortunately "Ignore groups" does not only panelloop the OPEN edges, it does so to ALL edges. I am looking for a way to add panelloops into a surface that alredy has panelloops.

    • @AleksMarkeljFoto
      @AleksMarkeljFoto  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, did you watch the whole video, since seeing every features of panel loops, can give you an idea which command to use in your specific case. I dont really understand what you are trying to do, so i cant give you a definite answer to your issue.
      I suggest you watch the whole video and try to grasp the importance of isolating polygroips/using commands in the side menu and combine that knowledge to get the result you are looking for.
      All the best 2 you.

      @@AleksMarkeljFoto Thank you very much for your fast answer. The technique you show @25:40 comes closest to what I want to do. Basically I'd want a selection to be respected by the panelloop function but it doesn't care if masked or not. Leave everything masked untouched and add another panelloolp that looks the same (has the same bevel) as the others, without affecting the others. Going first inner (because here for some reason the rest of the mesh is untouched..) and then out again requires re-scaling of the second part but kinda works. Thank you :)

    what's the practical use of panel loops? when would you use them and what for?

    • @AleksMarkeljFoto
      @AleksMarkeljFoto  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It comes in handy when you want to create different parts that fit perfectly together, like sci-fi armor or to quickly create details like for the tire profile. I suggest you type in Google "panel loops zbrush" and look under Images what can be created with them.

    Thank you for de-mystifying the Panel loops, This was very informative. I still find these very hard to work on,
    with all the different permutations that you need to remember.
    Question: If i want to model something using panel loops, what object would you suggest to practice for a start?

    Thanks! When i dynamesh after creating the panels, all of the panel details are lost. HOw owuld you retain it? By using the project all feature?

  • @RonaldStepp
    @RonaldStepp 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very confusing, you say Shift to do Mask Pen, but I cannot get that to work, even when I physically select Mask Pen, I have to hold control to mask.

    • @AleksMarkeljFoto
      @AleksMarkeljFoto  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, holding Ctrl is used for masking.
      My bad.

    • @RonaldStepp
      @RonaldStepp 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh Thank God, I thought I was losing my mind.. it doesn't help that ZBrush starts doing weird things if I don't restart it every so often.
      Example: I masked a spot on the sphere, but when I rotated the sphere slightly ZBrush added a really long rectangular masked area over whatever I had masked that seemed to stretch halfway around the sphere. I did that 10 or 11 times.. clearing the mask, then mask a spit, rotate, BANG same extra mask.
      Restarted ZBrush and it stopped doing it. But I love your videos, please keep doing them!
