Coco Cay is my one and only favorite port! So relaxing. I get some exercise walking around. I ride the tram when exhausted. I find a nice chair and people watch for hours. Coco Cay is so much fun. Oh, and there is free food and ice cream so.... yeah! I never spend a dime on Coco Cay. To me, some people just like to complain. Raises a red flag that perhaps the 3 and 4-day cruises may attract a certain type of person. Perhaps the longer cruises are more likely to host people who truly enjoy cruising. Grumpy = No fun.
I would prefer a longer cruise too but for the price I don’t think the “ other clientele” is there. I think this it’s a money grab for RC if any… more cruises with these short itineraries same price as my 7 day on other cruise lines. We were there on a 4 day for Christmas. I will say the cruise director was lame but Coco Cay was fun all the adults only side.
We were just on the cruise dec 27 - 30. I would definitely go for the 4 day next time for that added day to enjoy more of the ship. ALL IN! was THE BEST show and 2nd was Aqua. We were not impressed with the ice skating one at all. The cruise was too short to enjoy everything. But we had a great time. You missed the party at Coco Cay because you did not go to and review the Adults Only section at Hideaway Beach. That was THE PARTY place to be at.
I enjoyed your review. It sounds like you are seasoned cruisers. With that said, I would not expect high marks for Coco Cay from a "Port" perspective. As you mentioned, it is all commercialized and no where to visit the "Locals". But, as a place to just get off the ship and enjoy the beach, I thought it was great. I did not pay to do the water slides, etc. My day did not cost a dime. Food was free. Drinks were free (Diamond Plus). Had a great time with my grandchild at the free large "Splash Pad" that had slides and water guns, etc. Had plenty of time to just relax, or to do other activities if I chose to. Regarding the cost, I live in Florida, so no plane or Uber. Do have to pay for parking on top of cruise cost. I know you do not want to break down all of the costs, but to be fair, It may help those listening to your reviews to understand the basic cost to be on board, from those that may be based on how you get there. I prefer longer cruises as well, but would recomend this cruise for those with kids, or those that have not been on a cruise and want to have that experience.. Agree it is not one to take to see a different country, or cultures. Thanks.
We booked our first cruise based on the commercials showing Coco Cay and the first visit was not enough for us, I wanted to go back so re-booked. Definitely won't book a cruise unless it stops there. I take your point that it's not a town where you can immerse in the culture of a new place; it's like a resort. But it's very nice; my kids love snorkeling at the beach and doing the water park. You have to wait for sales for the water park; we've gotten it for as cheap as $50 a ticket. And I think there's actually only one vendor that takes your sea pass; the others are locals and take cash. But agreed that stuff is overpriced, would rather buy in Nassau from the straw market. Sorry it's not your thing, but our family loves it.
Oh please, what about the free Oasis mega pool? What about the Chill Grill with all of the free food? What about all of the free lounge chairs at all of the beaches? Yes the water park costs extra but as adults with the Oasis pool and all of the free beaches you don't need to pay extra for the water park. The one thing we do pay extra for is the the Adults only area in the winter for the heated pool. Hide Away Beach ranges from 35 to 55 per person depending on sales. We love Coco Cay. Shocked to hear you will never go again. I am sure lots of other people are going to tell you the same thing. What is your favorite cruise line? Happy cruising.
@@seannielsen6587 Hello and first off thanks for watching and your feedback. I felt underwhelmed. I feel since Im just 100 yards away from the ship, There is free food and a pool on the ship. Food on ship is almost the same. Hideaway was showing 78 pp on the app which seemed high. My favorite cruiseline overall is Celebrity, and for the last 5 years we love our European trips w the smaller Carnival trips. If you look at our channel you will see we went from Argentina, Iceland, Hawaii, and Bali, and Thailand. Probably CocoCay isnt the best after that. I may try it again later this year since so many people love it. Maybe I missed something here but at 350 a day I will take Hawaii. Loved the ship though..
I can't believe you didn't like cocoa cay. I love going there food, drinks , beach and music. Free pool or adult only section yes it cost. Utopia I have been on for a week it was wonderful. Sometimes you have to make your own fun😢. Did you try the train ride?
I didn’t care for it either. I mean I was SO happy to get off the boat cause the day before was a Sea Day. Our fun excursion was cancelled and we received no warning until we got there to check in all excited! Booooo! And their excuse was so stupid. The food area was amazing to me because I LOVE pulled pork. Hahaha! But otherwise I wasn’t impressed. The Utopia was AMAZING!!! Our first cruise ever and we love less than a half hour from the port! 😂 Nassau - gross. No thank you. We walked around a bit then just stayed on the boat. That’s crazy! We were in cabin 11270!!
I saw your post on Facebook and couldn’t agree with you more. CocoPay, LOL 😂. We used to like it there before the amplifications. It was much more relaxing back then and so beautiful. Now it’s way too over crowded. Last time we went there on Icon we stayed on the ship.
See, you nailed it without knowing it. Before the amplifications, general cruise demand was down. There was no Icon class ships. Ships are getting bigger and bigger so more people go to Coco Cay. AND I went several times before the amplifications and didnt enjoy having to tender to island before the dock was built. And guess what before the amplifications, I still had to pay to jet ski and there were still paid excursions. It was never no cost. And the food before the amplifications, it sucked. There were no pools either. Whether people like it or not the remake of Coco Cay has been a tremendous success because Royal is currently building 2 more private beach clubs AND Carnival has copied royal as well with their new private island which guess what, will be crowded and upcharges will be every where I know people like to think about the "good old days" at Coco Cay but everything wasnt ideal back then either
@@grantandcyndi Hello, dont know about that. Maybe look at our other videos and let me know if you want to change that statement, Lol. If you like Coco Cay thats awesome.. didnt do it for us. Ship was great though. Thx for watching!!

@@CrazyTravelLifewe paid $38 for the hideaway in advance.
@trolltrolling9022 It was 78 pp on app on ship. Someone said they paid 28 pp on black friday sale. Most said between 35 and 55.

❤️ you two. Awesome review. Completely agree. The gym is best in the fleet for sure.
