Is there any diversity amongst the crowd? I understand that there’s probably a lot of retirees because of the length of the cruise but we are in our mid 40s and prefer a good mix of ages. Also did things close down early because of the demographics? Thanks

There is soooo much to do in Hilo!! Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is awesome. That is where you can see an active volcano, Steam Vents, Lava Tubes etc. Another awesome place is the Big Island Candies Store!! Also..Richardson Black sand beach and the Banyon Trees!! You need to check out these awesome places the next time you go. Hilo is our absolute favorite Hawaiian Island.

Do you have to have a passport to get on and off the ship at these islands?

I enjoyed your review. It sounds like you are seasoned cruisers. With that said, I would not expect high marks for Coco Cay from a "Port" perspective. As you mentioned, it is all commercialized and no where to visit the "Locals". But, as a place to just get off the ship and enjoy the beach, I thought it was great. I did not pay to do the water slides, etc. My day did not cost a dime. Food was free. Drinks were free (Diamond Plus). Had a great time with my grandchild at the free large "Splash Pad" that had slides and water guns, etc. Had plenty of time to just relax, or to do other activities if I chose to. Regarding the cost, I live in Florida, so no plane or Uber. Do have to pay for parking on top of cruise cost. I know you do not want to break down all of the costs, but to be fair, It may help those listening to your reviews to understand the basic cost to be on board, from those that may be based on how you get there. I prefer longer cruises as well, but would recomend this cruise for those with kids, or those that have not been on a cruise and want to have that experience.. Agree it is not one to take to see a different country, or cultures. Thanks.

I can't believe you didn't like cocoa cay. I love going there food, drinks , beach and music. Free pool or adult only section yes it cost. Utopia I have been on for a week it was wonderful. Sometimes you have to make your own fun😢. Did you try the train ride?

We booked our first cruise based on the commercials showing Coco Cay and the first visit was not enough for us, I wanted to go back so re-booked. Definitely won't book a cruise unless it stops there. I take your point that it's not a town where you can immerse in the culture of a new place; it's like a resort. But it's very nice; my kids love snorkeling at the beach and doing the water park. You have to wait for sales for the water park; we've gotten it for as cheap as $50 a ticket. And I think there's actually only one vendor that takes your sea pass; the others are locals and take cash. But agreed that stuff is overpriced, would rather buy in Nassau from the straw market. Sorry it's not your thing, but our family loves it.

Coco Cay is my one and only favorite port! So relaxing. I get some exercise walking around. I ride the tram when exhausted. I find a nice chair and people watch for hours. Coco Cay is so much fun. Oh, and there is free food and ice cream so.... yeah! I never spend a dime on Coco Cay. To me, some people just like to complain. Raises a red flag that perhaps the 3 and 4-day cruises may attract a certain type of person. Perhaps the longer cruises are more likely to host people who truly enjoy cruising. Grumpy = No fun.

We were just on the cruise dec 27 - 30. I would definitely go for the 4 day next time for that added day to enjoy more of the ship. ALL IN! was THE BEST show and 2nd was Aqua. We were not impressed with the ice skating one at all. The cruise was too short to enjoy everything. But we had a great time. You missed the party at Coco Cay because you did not go to and review the Adults Only section at Hideaway Beach. That was THE PARTY place to be at.

Oh please, what about the free Oasis mega pool? What about the Chill Grill with all of the free food? What about all of the free lounge chairs at all of the beaches? Yes the water park costs extra but as adults with the Oasis pool and all of the free beaches you don't need to pay extra for the water park. The one thing we do pay extra for is the the Adults only area in the winter for the heated pool. Hide Away Beach ranges from 35 to 55 per person depending on sales. We love Coco Cay. Shocked to hear you will never go again. I am sure lots of other people are going to tell you the same thing. What is your favorite cruise line? Happy cruising.

I didn’t care for it either. I mean I was SO happy to get off the boat cause the day before was a Sea Day. Our fun excursion was cancelled and we received no warning until we got there to check in all excited! Booooo! And their excuse was so stupid. The food area was amazing to me because I LOVE pulled pork. Hahaha! But otherwise I wasn’t impressed. The Utopia was AMAZING!!! Our first cruise ever and we love less than a half hour from the port! 😂 Nassau - gross. No thank you. We walked around a bit then just stayed on the boat. That’s crazy! We were in cabin 11270!!

you complain about everything that you paid to make it on the ship. you spent no money at CoCo Cay,, you went during off season. the weather was a bit chill but this would also happen if you went on any cruise line. what cruise line would let you swim with the pigs for free. Your timing was off. i can tell you. i done 65 cruises over 30 with RCCL been to CoCo Cay 7 times since they upgraded to perfect Day. yes they charge for water park, zip line. hideaway beach and the beach club.. but those choices are optional. i cant seem to understand how you made a video on how expensive. CoCo Cay was when you spent nothing.. "the video should have been on going when the weather is warmer." & that the food and beach are free & if you want to do more then you pay.. Can i tell you what it costs me and my wife when we go. Taxes & port fees $205 for 2 people,, parking $90.00, $120 gratuities. Ocean Balcony comp by casino. wifi free Me and my wife are diamond plus "each get 2 free day" Less then $450 for the 2 of us. And most of the time i get an average of $250.00 free play . what cost me money is when i lose in the casino. So Plan it right and your experience will be better. but don't judge it on your poor planning. and don't make it about money if you didn't spend any money at coco cay.

We did Aruba and Curaçao on Harmony of the Seas and we really loved Curacoa. We would really like to go back there and spend a week or two. We’ve sailed on most of the cruise lines but haven’t tried Celebrity yet. Subbed and love your videos. Looking thru them now and looking forward to seeing your future videos.

I saw your post on Facebook and couldn’t agree with you more. CocoPay, LOL 😂. We used to like it there before the amplifications. It was much more relaxing back then and so beautiful. Now it’s way too over crowded. Last time we went there on Icon we stayed on the ship.

I was denied becuase my offers from carnival all are for Ocean view and the rep i spoke to told be it had to be a balcony or higher status offer.

Thanks for doing this video!! If you had to choose between doing Quantum of the seas (RC) or the Carnival Spirit, which would you choose? Same week and the itinerary is slightly different (no Tracy Arm Fjord with RC but Sitka instead and longer time in Victoria). Quantum is $500 less than Spirit though for the same room type.

Why do you need a weapon on a cruise.

Wouldn't the result be the same if security found it when she checked in. Just like an airport. Then if you cross international waters Wouldn't she have to answer to the port they were in?
