it is not sampled! It is "rewritten" with a real orchestra and Perter fox put his whole money into this production. And you should put on the translation....
Thank you for that hint. I was quite certain that it was from some classical music but had no idea from where it could be taken. And obviously I haven't listened to my collection of Schostakovich sinfonies for quite some time - which are a bit heavy stuff to be honest. I really need special conditions for them.

Peter Fox is a living legend The man was already doing great work with Seeed, then just chose to do some solo work, dropped Stadtaffe, the best selling rap album in German history(not a single dud, all songs are banger), only to leave us high and dry for 14 years, yearning for more. I had the honor to see him live, he's a beast. And he does all that with a partial paralysis after a stroke(hence why half his face sags a bit)
For me, an important part of the message of this song is also that if you don't like the way things are, then start doing them differently: "If you don't like it, make it new". Love that sentiment.
agree, one one hand it is about him but it is also very general and relatable. this is why i like this one so much. you don't like how things are going - make it new, burn the ild, have a fresh start, aim for better
As this (as far as i know) very first solo project of Peter Fox came out, it instantly hit in like bomb all over here in Germany. Not a lot people even had heard this name before, or knew that he was a member of Seeed, or were interested in that kinda music. Next second you heard it playing from every radio station, every house, every car that drove by…and the weirdest thing for me is, I’m still not able to get bored by the whole Album. Peter’s Statement in interviews was, that he didn’t intends to make a second one, because he realized that this “baby of him”, which took a lot more then 9 months to be born, is the limit of what an artist can dream of. He was too scared to disappoint, by trying to deliver the same quality

Alligatoah is also a very good German rapper, but he is very complex Lyrically and fully understanding the wit and puns of many of his wordplays pretty much requires native speaker level in German.
Peter Fox is really one of the most famous and most genius, singer and rapper in Germany, even especially of Berlin. Peter Fox's words and music reflect the spirit, humor and pure life of Berlin. He achieves something that is actually completely impossible. He is a pure genius of his time.
He recently gave three gigs in so called „problematic places“ in Berlin to get the people together for some nice vibes. For free. He just announced them few hours before. He is such a gift
Peter Fox, Alles neu, 2008 Plan B, Ill Manors, 2012 Strings melody, 7. Sinfonie Schostakowitsch, 1940 (?)🤔 Great reaction to a great song. 👌 And if you like Peter Fox try "Schüttel deinen Speck" 😁 I love it. Different and on the same album.
This song is from the 2008 album „Stadtaffe“ wich means ape from the city. It’s all related to life in Berlin. The drummers are Cold Steel from New York. I’ve seen him perform the album with Cold Steel and even more drummers. It was so cool and impressive, one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen.
The black dancer in the 50s outfit is Nikeata Thompson, a German-British choreographer, actress, presenter and very talented former dancer born in Birmingham. She was discovered by Seeed, Peter Fox's band, but also dances for Jan Delay, the frontman of "Beginner" and many other rap artists such as Megaloh (a German rapper with extreme rhyming techniques), for example in his video "Dr.Cooper (ich weiss)". Check out Megaloh, it's worth it.
Peter Fox actually found that Drumline due an online Video of 'em, booked a ticket to the US, signed em for the whole Album and Tour an brought em to Germany! Amazing story in my eyes! Love it!
This beat is from German rapper Peter Fox's track "Alles Neu". Fox hired an orchestra to record a symphony by composer Dmitri Shostakovich because he thought it slapped. The track (and the whole album) was a colossal success in Germany. Plan B sampled Fox's recording a few years later and made it his own. Plan B clearly has a fantastic taste in music to have wanted to sample from Peter Fox.
The whole album "Stadtaffe" was actually intended purely from the music as an album for Cee Lo Green. He made the song "Aufstehn" together with the band SEEED. Peter Fox was so enthusiastic about him as a singer that he promised to produce a whole album for him. However, CeeLo Green had his international breakthrough with Gnarls Barkley shortly afterwards and so he didn't make the album. Peter Fox then went viral with this album and German lyrics and was permanently at the top of the charts for 2-3 years. After that he declared that the fame was too much for him and that he just wanted to be a singer with Seeed again. Until last year, when he released a new album with the single "Zukunft Pink", which reached the charts again, the album was not so successful.

For me, this song describes brilliantly accurately the euphoric feeling that sometimes comes over you when you think: Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Now I'm breaking the chains of my narrow, dusty existence and attacking again, pulling out all the stops, turning things around, reinventing myself. It's a feel-good song for me that "blasts" and liberates. I like to turn it up loud when I'm sitting in the car and sing along.

This gets even more delicious when you understand the lyrics, really! Most of the songs of Peter Fox are really speaking from the heart of a Berliner. I can confirm as a Berliner that grew up with Seeed in our teenage years. The lyrics are honestly producing tears. And the delivery with the music makes it even stronger.
His concerts are a great celebration. Had the luck to be on his last of this year's tour, where he plays bro bono in a schoolyard for the neighborhood. Just great joy with his band, dancers and everything. I highly recommend it.
The song heavily samples the 4th movement of Dmitri Shostakovich's 7th Symphony, and was itself sampled by English rapper Plan B on his 2012 hit single "Ill Manors". The song was furthermore used for the trailer of the 13th season of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. wiki
The drumline is called „cold steel“ and they were also part of the live tour to the album. Peter Fox and his first album had an incredible impact on the landscape of German music in general. I myself consider it one of, if not THE BEST German album. Stadtaffe (meaning Urban Ape or City Monkey) doesn’t have a weak track and it’s a conceptual masterpiece.
Also the marching band has a historical background. Seeed started out as a performance group at the Berlin Karneval der Kulturen before they got famous.

I know its his most famous song but i always thought "Beat & Rap" or "Sensationell" from his first album showcases perfectly how far ahead of the other german rappers he was in terms of technique and wordplay already in 2001.

With this song Peter Fox managed to break some walls between genres. I know quite a few people who don't like rap but who enjoyed songs of Peter Fox or Seed.
hey, i really hope you see this comment, you should really listen to "Hurra die Welt geht unter" by K.I.Z. .. the message in this song and the whole vibe and musical artistics in it are just wonderful and gorgeous!!
I am from Germany. The Band Ceeed, all people from the group come from a other country. From Jamaica, Afrika, Philipins, American. And all this Sounds come in one 🎉❤
This was his first single as a solo artist. He is part of the German dancehall group seeed. Haven’t you reacted to „Ding“? You absolutely have to check out their tracks „Dancehall Cabalieros“ or „Dickes B“ for earlier stuff from before PFs Solo and „Molotov“ or „Augenbling“ for their newer stuff.
The Beat in the Beginning is from the 1940s... from the russian composer Shostakovitsh and his 4th Movement (Allegro non troppo), Symphony No. 7 ...around Minute 5:00
His first solo album in 2007 was so sick, it was really sad that he stopped being a solo artist right afterwards. Two years ago there was a little comeback, dropping three singles 15 years later. You have to check one of these songs out, I would highly recommend "Zukunft Pink" to you.
Peter Fox is easily one of the biggest artists in Germany. Check out more Seeed, he his part of, you'll get to hear more of the creativity you were talking about ("Music monks" , "Aufstehn" , "What you deserve is what you get"). Another big rapper is Samy Deluxe. You should really check him out!
Hey there, I’m from Germany and I love your German videos because your respect and fascination for German bands is inspiring to me. I see my own country through different eyes, thanks to you. Btw, if you wanna hear female rappers/pop of the 90's, i can recommend the band "Tic tac toe"
His first Solo Album "Stadtaffe" is a pure hymn of Berlin. It caught the "German soul" of that time like no other album - but has become part of German art DNA and therefore had become a timeless classic.
Looking back I think Peter Fox was also one of the first ppl who showed me some non german and non western culture in music and tv, especially because of Seed but also as Peter Fox. He always includes poc, sometimes his music has great reggae vibes or simply are reggae and that was really new to me back then.
You're right, one of the best in germany. His first album Stadtaffe is my favorite german album ever. Also a good dude. This summer he did some free surprise concerts in poorer "problem areas" in Berlin. Peter Fox 💚
My daughter was at one of these shows. The whole event promoted other Berlin artists as well, something he’s always stood behind. An amazing community event!
Peter Fox isn't just the best rapper, because that doesn't do him justice. Peter's music is unique and reaches many people with different tastes. This also does justice to Peter Fox as a person, because his attitude to life and his value system are just as special as his music.❤🔥
to my knowledge the album is his first solo album ever - before he was probably only active with Seeed - hence the statement that he is now Peter Fox 1.1 - the upgrade from what he was before - with Stadtaffe ('Citymonkey' ? or 'Monkey in the city') he became known throughout Germany and also internationally
In case you are interested in hearing Peter Fox perform in english: There is a great track from his Band Seeed called "Augenbling" of which they also recorded an international version. This one is called "Blink Blink'. I personally think its just not quite as good as the original, but still fun to hear .
Peter Fox solo and being with his band Seeed, always a TREASURE. Staftaffe was my first CD i‘ve ever bought. My favourite german rapper Also if you liked the monkey concert scene: That’s what his live shows looked like 😍
The "Schluss mit Larifari", "Larifari" is german figure of speech or phrase that is hard to actually translate. In essence he is saying "No more messing around"
DJ Illvibe was the producer of both tracks :D he reused the song for Plan B, also in collaboration with Peter Fox :D and originally the song, also the full album was originally planned for CeeLo Green, but he had no more time, cause he was succesful with Gnarls Barkley, so he sang it on its own :D
Alert!! LEGENDARY German Album from Peter Fox was for 2 YEARS "Album of the year" A milestone and i am still listening to this awesome peace of ART. In case ubdo not like it...Make ALLES NEU!!! Grüsse aus Deutschland gehen raus in die die Welt. 😊
You are right, Peter Fox is our greatest artist in past 20 years. (Together with Rammstein)But he is not dropping that much, keeping it rare. He is one of the artist who deserves International Reputation.
There is one really important rap artist you've not had any videos about as far as I've seen and who became one of the biggest rap artists in Germany over the last 10 years: Alligatoah, he has a really good combination of creativity, good melodie, singing and rapping while being very lyrical. He also likes to play a role in his songs, so they're kind of theatrical. I recommend "Musik ist keine Lösung", "Wo kann man das kaufen" or "Wie Zuhause" (it's a bit more unusual, but a great combination of high quality rap and singing) I strongly recommend always reading the lyrics afterwards. I'm very sure you will love him Other more unknown german rappers i really love: Dazzle - "Alle bisschen kaputt" Erwin & Edwin - "Tag Ein, Tag Aus" (austrian with great beats)
The whole Album Stadtaffe is a banger. Most of them don't have a video tho. I personally listen to Boombap most of the time but Peter Fox is a mastermind. Fun Fact: He first wanted someone else to perform the lyrics, but after he couldn't find a fitting artist he just did it himself, while also doing the producing as well.
Fun fact about that whole album "Stadtaffe" is that Peter Fox had usually planed to produce it for another artist during a break from the band Seeed. He was supposed to act as a producer only. It turned that the artist Peter Fox had in mind was too busy and Peter Fox ended up recording the lyrics himself and landed 3 top ten hits out of the album. Seeed was already huge and Peter Fox - who is the mastermind behind Seeed - became even bigger.
And yes, ir memory serves, that is a drum line of some college in the Carolinas; went on tour with him. On one trip of mine to Scotland from Hamburg the live CD of that tour was played over and over, it's that good.
wikipedia says: Plan B sampled Peter Fox who sampled it from Schostakovitch (7th symphony, 4th movement, the part is in the middle of the movement). I love your reactions.
It's difficult to overstate the impact this album had on German culture. It's the beat of a generation.

I know its his most famous song but i always thought "Beat & Rap" or "Sensationell" from his first album showcases perfectly how far ahead of the other german rappers he was in terms of technique and wordplay already in 2001.
@@Siggy152 but weck mich auf tells a Story and is intelligent. Beat&rap and sensationell arent even from his first Album, his first Album is deluxe soundsystem and its even better than samy deluxe.
Try 'Zukunft pink'' from his latest album, you will like it!
Thats not just a beat, he went to a big Orchestra and some dozens of musicians played them
Hey Dwayne, for me P. F. is the most unique Rapper not only in Germany… His pure energy is mindblowing! Thanxx a lot for your reaction-clips, they inspire me to listen again to very good music and Watch really cool videostuff. Your choice is excellent! Send you a big hug therefore!🤩
Gosh I love your reaction videos. Makes me appreciate the music I already love even more.
I'm glad you enjoy the videos, I genuinely enjoy experiencing and exploring German music. I'm like a kid in a sweet shop lol!
Other great rappers are Sammy deluxe and Jan Delay. Especially Jan delay has a very unique tone to his voice.
Its samy deluxe.
New favourite reaction channel, because you really engage with the songs 👌
Hey Dwayne... first of all, i love your reactions🤗 Now, if you like Peter, here's a suggestion- 'Sekundenschlaf' by Fox and Marteria... Pretty deep and visually overwhelming ^^
Greetings from Germany🫡
Hey, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Thanks for the suggestion I’ll check it out :)
@@dwayneslens I would love to see your reaction... that track changed my view on life
And Marterias voice is also pretty special. 😊
I like your positivity😊
With this song Peter Fox managed to break some walls between genres. I know quite a few people who don't like rap but who enjoyed songs of Peter Fox or Seed.
The whole album "Stadtaffe" is brilliant!
Peter Fox is a Legend. He is a Philosoph in Music.
Peter Fox ist a great Artist
Agreed, loving all of his music so far
hey, i really hope you see this comment, you should really listen to "Hurra die Welt geht unter" by K.I.Z. .. the message in this song and the whole vibe and musical artistics in it are just wonderful and gorgeous!!
Ohhhhhhhhh yessssssss!
What he says!
ALL these songs are incredibly good!
The Beat in the Beginning is from the 1940s... from the russian composer Shostakovitsh and his 4th Movement (Allegro non troppo), Symphony No. 7 ...around Minute 5:00
Really enjoy your Reactions!!! "Haus am See" by Peter Fox would be great too! Or some of his newer stuff like "vergessen wie"
His first solo album in 2007 was so sick, it was really sad that he stopped being a solo artist right afterwards. Two years ago there was a little comeback, dropping three singles 15 years later. You have to check one of these songs out, I would highly recommend "Zukunft Pink" to you.
Love Songs is an album actually, not just three singles. It’s really different than Stadtaffe and not as ingenious as Stadtaffe, but I like it anyway.
Samy Deluxe is a legend!
Most German rappers were influenced by him.
He's German old skool.
Hey there, I’m from Germany and I love your German videos because your respect and fascination for German bands is inspiring to me. I see my own country through different eyes, thanks to you. Btw, if you wanna hear female rappers/pop of the 90's, i can recommend the band "Tic tac toe"
Finally some great and famous music 👌🏼
The original cello staccato was sampled from IV. Allegro Non Troppo by Dmitri Shostakovich. And I love it! Slams!
I‘m from germany, i sawe Peter Fox and Seeed many times, he‘s also sounding live Like thies. And makes a very big Show! 🎉
Peter Fox isn't just the best rapper, because that doesn't do him justice.
Peter's music is unique and reaches many people with different tastes.
This also does justice to Peter Fox as a person, because his attitude to life and his value system are just as special as his music.❤🔥
Peter Fox is a living legend. His first solo album “Stadtaffe” is mind blowing. Well worth a deep dive.
Great reaction to a great german artist!💎
to my knowledge the album is his first solo album ever - before he was probably only active with Seeed - hence the statement that he is now Peter Fox 1.1 - the upgrade from what he was before - with Stadtaffe ('Citymonkey' ? or 'Monkey in the city') he became known throughout Germany and also internationally
My favourite german rapper
Also if you liked the monkey concert scene: That’s what his live shows looked like 😍
There is no one like him in germany. I grow up with his music (born 2000)
The "Schluss mit Larifari", "Larifari" is german figure of speech or phrase that is hard to actually translate. In essence he is saying "No more messing around"
Honestly we get you he really has the melody even soul ! Thanks for the reacction !
I know this track from day one, but the hook still gives me goosebumbs. So good is this song
The surge of adrenaline that goes through the audience at his live shows when this song starts...
Alert!! LEGENDARY German Album from Peter Fox was for 2 YEARS
"Album of the year" A milestone and i am still listening to this awesome peace of ART. In case ubdo not like it...Make ALLES NEU!!!
Grüsse aus Deutschland gehen raus in die die Welt. 😊
Unforgettable from 1985: Falco with the song Rock Me Amadeus.
FINALLY!!!🎉🎉🎉 now 'Zukunft Pink' please 😊❤❤❤
You are right, Peter Fox is our greatest artist in past 20 years. (Together with Rammstein)But he is not dropping that much, keeping it rare. He is one of the artist who deserves International Reputation.
You have such a nice energy, i am two minutes in your first video i am watching and i already feel your positive vibes❤ keep being a good guy❤
I recommend "Musik ist keine Lösung", "Wo kann man das kaufen" or "Wie Zuhause" (it's a bit more unusual, but a great combination of high quality rap and singing)
I strongly recommend always reading the lyrics afterwards. I'm very sure you will love him
Other more unknown german rappers i really love:
Dazzle - "Alle bisschen kaputt"
Erwin & Edwin - "Tag Ein, Tag Aus" (austrian with great beats)
Peter is part of Seeed aswell, you reacted before. This Solo Album had been very successful in US-Clubs. They loved his beats
This ist the original one. I grew up with all of these songs 👊🏼
The song from Jupiter Jones "Still" is also a wonderful one. The other song from Peter Fox "Haus am See" was also very popular in Germany
When Plan B performed in Germany he heard Peter Fox's song on the radio and loved the melody so much that he sampled it. Cheers!
I thought it was NC A & T
wikipedia says: Plan B sampled Peter Fox who sampled it from Schostakovitch (7th symphony, 4th movement, the part is in the middle of the movement).
I love your reactions.
