I have one of these. I ended up having trouble with the flex of the motor pulling the air hat off of the inlet pipe (Especially in 4LO). I replaced the rubber mount that goes from the heat shield to the inlet pipe with a straight bolt and let the pipe just slide across it. I can get a video if you're interested. The only thing holding in the inlet pipe is the air hat on one end and the hose on the other, but I've been running it like that for around 7 years and have never had a problem.
I know what your talking about and I ready to ditch the rubber mount for a bolt if it starts acting up. Ive been running this fine for the past week now with no trouble and im just glad the air hat gasket fits my abnormally shaped throttle body and seals with no problems
Just checked the price on this intake.. Barricade definitely ain't cheaping out on his ZJ! 20 years ago a K&N tube/filter was about the same price, so I can't complain too much.
Barricade, You should tint your girls headlights. I just ordered the tinted headlights but am going to tint the bumper lights and corners a bit darker. The taillights as well. I think her 5.2L would look badass; ESPECIALLY if you're still running the green LEDs
So what’s your take on the over all performance and throttle response after doing this upgrade versus the stock setup? Looks great by the way. Thanks for the awesome videos also.
Man I've had more than a few headaches from throttle body gaskets with my zj. Make sure you keep and eye on it for a few days. I thought my k&n rubber one was top notch and it was not
@@leakyjeep5.9 I thought it was good too. But it started bending under the heat. I had to go back to my old setup: go get some cork material from an auto store and cut 4 gaskets out. Works perfectly and its VERY cheap
Looks bad ass but do you know where to get one I typed the part number into a Google search and everything says it’s unavailable could you help me find one or find a air intake that’s just as good I have a 98 zj with the 318 motor thanks so much and your videos are perfect I replaced most of my front end by myself with your help thanks
Was the initial purchase price ($389.00) worth the cost? I have a bone stock 5.9 with 131,3050 miles that I just purchased and i'm doing all maintenance now thru the winter so i'm ready for spring.Thanks.
It does nothing for the low end but youll notice more passing power on the hwy, my 52mm Throttle body body really opened things up along with the injectors so im not sure if youll get the desired results your looking for with this intake. It sounds cool, looks cool, and im glad I got it but If I had to choose between this intake and new Fuel injectors.. I would go with fuel injectors. If you havent seen my video on that check it out here th-cam.com/video/xVq8uEdnMsg/w-d-xo.html
Its noticable on the high end. More passing power on the highway but unless youve done other things to your engine (exhaust work, fuel injectors, bigger throttle body) it wont be worth it performance wise
@@barricadegarage5361 I went with the K&N back in 2000 on my 95 5.2, still running it. While I did not notice any power gain day to day driving, I did notice better & smoother pulling power running up long steep stretches of mountain roads as well as passing on the highway. It's also paired with a K&N cat back system no longer made.

Super sexy. First time I've ever seen one installed. Very nice. Also, didn't realize your ZJ had a 5.9 grille, very nice!

That little black part that moved the bolt to the middle where can I get that?
Could you have used the after market spacer or would there not be enough hood clearance?
nice video bud
And my new air hat jus so happened to come with a 73mm garret turbo
Класс 👍👍👍
Amazing content man! Love it!
What size are the throttle body bolts you bought to make it work
By chance you still have that old intake, and if so do you want to sell it?
Maybe he might have the OG Air intake, the one that looks like a box, I need answers on that one ! :(
Did it make a huge difference compared to the setup you had before? I have a similar setup myself but i had my stock tb bored out to 53mm
Question after installing is there any work to be done with the dyno and will it trip out the jeep computer just a thought...
Thank you
No, you dont have to do any of that mine is running just fine
Stull going to suck up all the hot air from the engine compartment. Shit!
will this work with a stock throttle body?
Yes
